In response to this complaint. Locally we have had a very soft winter and the ground has not been frozen enough to support a lift. Given the unique position of the chimney and the steepness of the roof, I will only complete this job with a...

lift. The response to written estimates and "work completed" request he had made... This was so he could turn it into his insurance company and make a claim on it. What he truly wanted was a invoice saying it was completed before the job was done. That is insurance fraud and not how I operate, hence the lack of documents he wanted. As far as lack of communication, his voicemail was full and is often out of town and unreachable. Upon actually talking to him, he acknowledged this happens with his phone frequently. This all occurred after he ordered a new insert from me and then cancelled the order upon delivery date, pushing back the liner install another 2 weeks. He currently is still in debt to me for a insert restocking fee and cost of the lift for that day. I am not sure about the whole "he up and left" given Steve used his truck and chain to initially try to pull the lift out of his yard. He was with us the whole time. It was Steve's decision for us to attempt the liner on that day despite me continually trying to reschedule given the soft ground. Steve's only reason for making this complaint is due to another chimney company had called him and prompted him to make it, this is per our conversation 1 day after. I have the emails to prove his intent of insurance fraud and I do not operate like that. Steve and I still communicate and will work out the finances accordingly. He has since apologized for the misunderstanding.
