Review: The sales person [redacted] from Nuhome Exteriors was showing me different siding examples that I can get for my home as well as the insulation to go under the siding. He went over all the products in full detail. He advised me of one particular insulation that I should go with because it was very durable, really dense; he told me that the product was so strong and could withstand strong winds. He stated that if someone/something was to fall on the siding with that insulation backing it that it will basically have no effect on the siding. He told me that the neopor insulation was the best. That it will withstand very strong winds. He said I will see a drop in my energy bill. He said that it’s expensive, but it will be worth it because I will have a drop in my energy bill and I could use that difference to pay for my siding. He explained to me that someone else will come out to my house and get another measurement to double check behind him. He stated on the day of installation I should expect the following: they will take down the old siding and wrap and replace it with the new wrap and the good thing about the new siding is that the insulation is already on the siding. He told me that it was a special order. That the guys putting up my siding are trained especially to do this type of siding.

On the first delivery attempt: The product was delivered. This is when I notice that I was not getting the product that [redacted] showed me a demo of. The insulation was white and I could break it with my pinky finger. I then expressed to the driver that I’m sorry, but this is not the product that I ordered. It was basically white Styrofoam. I contacted NuHome and told them that I received the wrong product. They then asked me what was I supposed to get I told them it was the Thick neopor insulation.

On the second deliver attempt: The driver shows me the insulation(up front). I told him I’m sorry but this is wrong again. I told him I was supposed to be getting neopor insulation. What he was delivering said Neopor BUT it wasn’t the dense insulation that [redacted] showed me and that I agreed to buy. Also, on the truck at that time was the exact product that [redacted] describes to me in full detail and it was the correct insulation that I had touched and held in my hand. It was also on the back of the siding already like he described to me how my siding would be delivered. I told the driver this is what I’m supposed to be getting. I asked the driver to double check his order to make sure that wasn’t my order. He told me that was for another customer.

I then took a picture of what they were trying to delivery me and the correct product that I thought I was agreeing to on the contract. I called [redacted] and told him again that the wrong product was delivered again. I even sent him pictures of the incorrect insulation and the correct. He told me that the two pictures look the same. I also, sent him the picture of the box of the product that I “thought” I was receiving. [redacted] then tells me that the picture that I sent him is [redacted] Siding and that’s a 10k Job. He then suggest that he comes back out to my house to show me the samples again. I told him that’s what we agreed on. He gave me full details about [redacted] Siding (but using the term Neopor) but by the time my order got placed I got a lower quality siding and insulation. I then asked him why am I’m paying $9500 for that thin insulation. I told him that he’s changing his story on me and being that the contract is loosely written. I thought I was getting one product that they showed me an example of, but they are telling me that I signed for the correct product (the low quality siding).

I did speak with another sales manager ([redacted]), and after hearing my complaint he then decided to give me the “correct” product that I was supposed to get initially. However, he states that he is “giving me an up-grade” like he is doing me a favor and all along the “up-graded” siding was what I was under the impression I was receiving/paying for all along.

After, dealing with them and getting the wrong item delivered TWICE and having to defend what I ordered I don’t trust this company to do this Job for me. I told them I want to cancel my Job, and they are telling me I would have to pay a 25% cancellation fee as stated in point #3 in the contract. That amount is $2410 which I’m extremely bothered by because the sales person misrepresented the product that I thought I was getting and by the time the product was delivered it wasn’t what I thought I had signed for in the contract.Desired Settlement: Cancel my order without charging me a cancellation fee because I was not getting the order that I was showed a sample of.
