Nurture OB/GYN Reviews (1)

When I became pregnant, I knew that I wanted an OBGYN with a low c-section rateAfter extensive research, I chose NurtureWhile I did deliver vaginally, I made the wrong decision by choosing Nurture
Everything was wonderful and I sung their praises throughout my prenatal careThen, at days past due, it all went down hilldays prior, we (DH and I) had met with Dr,Ofobakay and had a fetal stress testShe told us everything looked greatThe nurse had even mentioned that Dr.O had been asking about us & whether we had delivered yet because she was hoping to be the one to deliver our baby
days later, we met with Andrea Campaigne and the tone completely changedDr.C said that it was abfor labor to have not begun yet and she thought that it must be a pathological reason and we needed to seriously consider inducingWe asked Dr.C questions and it became clear that she did not like us questioning her judgementShe crossed her arms and stated, in a condescending tone, that "you need to trust your provider." I had read several current prenatal books that were written by MDs/OBGYNs and she basically told me that everything that I had read was incorrectShe informed us that she would be on call over the weekend and we could set up an induction with herAfter leaving, my DH and I decided that, if we did induce, we would wait until at least Monday so that we would not have Dr.CFour hours later, I went into labor naturallyUpon arrival to the hospital, I was cm and DrC strongly suggested an epiduralShe knows that I am afraid of needlesWhile the epidural was being placed, she made condescending comments about me being fearful
After ~hours, I was 10cm dilated, but the baby had not dropped below a -or -Dr.C said that since the baby wasn't dropping, she was probably too big and we needed to seriously start thinking about a c-sectionI said that I didn't want to yet, since the monitors showed that the baby was fineShe left to perform a c-section on someone else and by the time she came back, my baby had dropped to -or When she checked me, she found meconiumShe was incredibly alarmed & kept repeating "not good"She again recommended a c-section saying that the baby could inhale the meconium & end up in the NICUWe decided to wait
She was condescending throughout the experience anytime I asked questionsWhen she made me cry, my DH pulled her into the hallway and asked her to be nicerShe came back and apologized for making me cry and stated that I need to trust herShe said that she could get me another Dr if I wanted; I should've said yesI didn't because I wasn't sure how that would work with my insurance
She had me start pushing before I felt ready & when the baby was at either a or +I pushed for over hours totalDuring the last hour, any question that I asked (primarily wanting to know what she was doing) was met with silence or she would say "its not about you, its about the baby"She also used a larger than catheter on me, telling me that they were out of the sizeI had asked her to have a nurse call to another floor for the size as they previously hadShe said they were out all overShe liedThe nurse successfully got me another one when I asked her to switch it outBefore Dr.C gave me an episiotomy, I told her that I was not numb and asked for a numbing shotShe ignored meI repeated myselfShe said "It's not about you, it's about the baby." I repeated myself again and the nurse handed her oneIt took seconds for her to give it to me rather than cut me while not numb and have me feel the slicing (twice- she cut some and then cut more)
After the birth, she sang her own praises about how she was able to keep the baby from breathing in the meconiumAfterwards, I read that meconium in the womb it quite common
She was awfulI focused on my doula and husband as much as possible, but she still managed to really make it toughI didn't take Dr.C's recommendation for induction, nor her recommended C-sectionI had my daughter vaginally despite being pressured to do otherwise, spoken down to and generally not nurtured at all by Andrea Campaigne
If you're inquisitive and you take an active role in your health care and don't blindly follow whatever your provider suggests, then this is not the practice for you
I planned to get my annual exam from DrO and find a new provider within the yearI have since received a letter stating that they are dropping meConsidering everything, this felt like one more violation since I was clearly not in the wrong for expecting informed care
Had DrO or Lianne delivered my baby, I think things would have went much differentlyUnfortunately, I had Dr.C and can only compare her to Jekyl and Hyde
