Nutmeg State Financial Credit Union Reviews (4)
The credit union is not doing anything different than the rest of the industryStatements are available to him by mail or electronicallyIf he opted to receive them electronically there would be no chargeThank you
I am rejecting this...
response because:The credit union makes an effort at defaulting to charging high fees and forces me to log into the online banking interface and find the 'opt out' option. I never received direct guidance and could never find where to 'opt out' of paying fees ($5 per month) for paper statements. I bank with other institutions that absolutely do not charge these kinds of fees. The credit union also refuses to stop 'paper statement fees' even after repeatedly calling the customer service department and simply states that I need to find where I should 'opt out' within the internet banking interface.
This is an absolutely unacceptable action and clearly showing that they prefer to fees on services that comparable institutions do not charge for.
Review: I applied for a " credit builder loan." They sent the denial letter with the denial of the loan in the window view of the mailing envelope! My privacy is violated! This is embarrassing for my mailman to give to me and all is able to see this denial! If it were approved and someone saw it, they could have opened it and could have cause identity theft.
My privacy is violated and Nutmeg was incompetent in mailing this letter with the decision in the window view for all to see. I feel they do not care for their customers.Desired Settlement: I will seek legal advice as this violates my privacy. I also emailed Nutmeg and no apology, no response. I sent them a picture of the envelope. I very upset on they way they handled my letter.
Recently acquired a car loan through Nutmeg via a dealership. Bought the car, did the paperwork, all was well, I’m driving around in the car for days. Shortly thereafter I get what I thought was maybe a welcome letter, so I put it aside. A few days later I got my coupon payment book. Fine. As I go to pay my first payment (well before first payment is due), I figured I better read the initial letter they sent, which turned out to be an “Adverse Action Notice” saying Nutmeg couldn’t fund the loan without additional info. Where Nutmeg was supposed to list the reason why and the additional info needed were only blank spaces. (There were literally blank lines on the form where they were supposed fill in to note what info was needed and by when and the reason why they needed it.) And yet I have a coupon book in hand! I called to make sure everything was kosher, and while it is, the ditz on the phone said perhaps an earlier bid by my dealer was denied and by law they have to alert me to any loan denials. Fine, but a blank document doesn’t really inform me of anything! It was almost as though someone had sent me the wrong form.
So the only correspondence I have received as a new member is an Adverse Action Notice and a payment book. No explanation of failed loan attempts; no terms or details about the loan that was approved; no overview of Nutmeg’s services. Just a denial and the payment stubs. Not a very good welcome and very unprofessional.
