I have an issue with collection practices
My bank account was hacked which caused my NV Energy payment to be returnedUnaware that this had happened I made a replacement payment to cover the returned item with the same bank account which caused another returned item(both of which are the identical amount) My energy service was disconnected twice behind this and two re connection fees were charged I have paid the returned item in full via certified funds and after was told by a rep with NV Energy that my service would/could be disconnected still because I had to make another payment in the amount of the returned item, my account was brought current with my paying the returned item but am being threatened of disconnect anywayNV Energy was told that the current balance due would be paid by Tues the 12th and was told that my service could still be interrupted

Fraudulent Account Opened Under My Name
I recently was made aware of an NV Energy account that had been opened using my name and social security numberThis has also happened to my mother on separate occasionsI am concerned reference NV Energy's practices for allowing individuals to open accounts and accrue charges on those accountsI check my credit report regularly and have no other indication of identity theft or misuse of my personal informationI do believe this is an issue with the company itself and its practicesThere is little to no verification of the validity of individuals opening accounts and the information they are providing to NV EnergyI am concerned that many others already have been affected by these poor practices and that far more will be affected in the future if it is not addressed

Billing was increased by 5x the amount and they are saying I'm out of luck and have to pay regardless of me know I have not used that much
For the past few months my bill has jumped from around $to $I gave it the benefit of the doubt and changed the habits in the home by unplugging everything and ensuring that things like the AC were set to settings that would not consume much electricityAfter months of paying $electrical bills for a bedroom apartment without change in the amount with the changes I have done at home, I am at wits end seeing as both NV Energy and my apartment complex are unwilling to do anything to helpI know that I have not ran up the electricity bill to such a high dollar amount especially in a bedroom apartmentI know I have over paid, and for the company to say that I'm out of luck and need to continue paying is a drain on my ability to live

EPP Benefits taken away and fined after moving service as well as issues with my online account
I had to move to another apartment unit due to my old unit caving in, but it's still at the same place (the service ended the last week of March and started back up Apirl 2nd this is to the best of my knowledge)When switching service to my new unit they claimed that I owed $because the service was stopped which also cancelled the Equal Payment Plan I was on for the entirety of the year apparentlyMy bill has been a constant $20-per month (i don't use much electricity) and all of sudden I owe $they tried to explain it to me, but i've made every single payment, I understand they make small adjustments based on how much I use, but $it makes no senseI never even wanted to cancel the EPP plan, but I was forced to and they didn't even have any compassion for my situation which was an emergency disastor they even fined me to move the serviceThey also told me they c

I was told that I have to pay a depositI feel as a military member I should not have to pay that amount I am on a military budget
I paid them with in the month period

An account under my name with Nevada Energy has been referred to a Collection Agency This account should have been disconnected with a $balance
I never authorized an account in my name to be opened with Nevada Energy I never lived at Crystal Brook Ct, Las Vegas NV I filed bankruptcy in and was made aware of this account It had come to my knowledge that my information was used by Margaret *** *** to establish this service After confronting Ms*** she agreed to pay for any and all services associated with this account, she even set up auto pay However, in late 2015-November or December, I reached out to Nevada energy and requested a disconnect of service I spoke at length with a gentleman who assured me this would be done Here is it mid and there is a collection agency reporting on my credit report

I requested service to be stopped April 13, It is now May 18, and service is still active, and in my name
I requested to have service stopped April 13, and they did not stop service Then I informed them of their problem May 6, and they assured me they would stop service and send refundIt is now May and service is still up and running in my nameI have not received any refund

Unreliable servicetotal power outages in last weeks
We are constantly having outages at this addressIn past year since moving from colorado we had more than This unreliability from a utility is completely unacceptable

I'm 61, disabled and I just had a heart attack? NVENERGY's employee[redacted] #[redacted] kept lying to me, put me on hold for almost 1/2hour and when I begged to talk to his supervisor, he told me theirwere no supervisors working? he said he would have a supervisor call me back? they are closing in 1 hour and my new apartment is going to turn off my power? it's snowing here and I won't have power? I'm scared? can u help me?Product_Or_Service: electric powerDesired SettlementI'm 61, disabled and I just had a heart attack? it's snowing here and I'm afraid I'm gonna be in the dark tonite? I guess just a little customerservice? I don't believe there were NO supervisors and it's not my fault this employee hates his job? I'm a paying customer?Business Response [redacted] contacted NV Energy on December 2, 2015 and requested service be established at [redacted] on December 3rd, which in fact occurred. On December 14, 2015, [redacted] again contacted NV Energy and stated he had provided an incorrect address and he had moved in to [redacted]. Service to this new address was turned on at 6:00 AM on December 15th. Due to the incorrect address initially being provided, there was some confusion during the telephone conversation with [redacted] on December 14th. The customer was also requesting his deposit be waived, and the customer service representative was attempting to explain why it could not be waived, which was based on [redacted]'s credit history with NV Energy. [redacted] has been late in paying his NV Energy bill at his previous address ten times in the past year, which is the reason for the deposit. At the time the customer called, a supervisor was not available to take a call as she was in a meeting. I have listened to the call between [redacted] and our customer service representative. [redacted] attempted several times to explain to the customer what he was doing, but the customer was very frustrated and was not listening to what he was being told. The Contact Center at NV Energy is open 24 hours a day, so I don't understand why [redacted] is stating we were closing in 1 hour. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I'm just saying,I thought we had the right to talk to a supervisor? And I dont even know if a supervisor called me back? And they did not include that I talked to another operator and she explained to me that they were transferring my$40 deposit, but, the deposit was $75, because, the new apartment had a historyof higher bills? My credit was irrelevant? The wrong address was put on my new lease, by the new office?[redacted] just hates his job and isn't trained, at all?Final Business Response I'm confused as to what the complaint continues to be. He states "he doesn't even know if a supervisor called him back". In reviewing the account, the request was to have service established which occurred on December 15th as requested, once the address error was corrected. He also states "his credit was irrelevant". It was explained in the previous comment that the customer's previous account received 10 late charges in 2015, which is the reason for the deposit charge. The deposit is assessed based on the previous consumption at the address the customer is moving into.

For the past year and a half I have received erratic billing* from NV Energy. This erratic billing began when they installed a "smart meter"... their billing practices are so broken that I am now in arrears of $538 dollars and my bill says nothing of the sort! This is completely unacceptable and poor business practice. *Erratic billing is this: (1) no bill in February, March, July, September, November and December 2013; (2) received 2 bills in October of 2013; (3) received 4 bills in January of 2014; (4) no bill in February and April of 2014; (5) 2 bills in March of 2014; (6) 2 bills in July of 2014.Desired SettlementIf it would be possible to remove the smart meter???Business Response NV Energy apologizes for the issues it has caused [redacted]. We have reached out to her but she has not returned the phone calls. It is requested that [redacted] contact [redacted], Billing Supervisor, at [redacted] to further discuss the issue. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Incorrect reply from the company NV Energy. They, in fact, have NOT reached out to me by phone or any other method. I have no voicemails from them nor have I received any sort of phone call or email.Final Business Response We would like to resolve this complaint which is why the name and phone number of the supervisor were provided in the last response. As stated, she left 2 messages for the customer so for whatever reason they are not being received. Again we are asking the customer to please contact [redacted], Supervisor of Billing, [redacted].

I made a payment of 142.47 with NV energy through their phone payment system. At the end of every payment it provided me with a confirmation number to the best of my knowledge which was [redacted].When gathering my mail I received a notice that my power was going to be shut off April 7th,but on the bill it states that if you have made that payment to disregard that notice, also my power had not been shut off on that date. The following day I received my recent bill for NV Energy of 40.04 so that was reassurance that my previous payment was successful. On 4/9/2014 my power was shut off,I contacted NV Energy customer service and they informed my that the payment was taken but was not able to be received because the account was "unknown" so they advised me to contact my bank.I contacted my bank [redacted] spoke to a supervisor by the name of [redacted] and they advised me that the transaction was never posted to my account. This was a concern because they were able to verify my account with NV energy on the 3 way call. The concern is that NVEnergy read me a card number that I had not used or have ever used to make a payment. The supervisor named [redacted] (ID badge number [redacted]) came to the conclusion that there was actually something wrong on my account but did not disclose any other information to me.She informed me my power would be back on immediately(she then called me to verify that it was turned back on,and it was as promised)and advised me my account would go into further investigation.I'm also concerned as to why the past 2 months my bills have been higher than usual, but this months 29 day period my bill was only $40.04.My payments usually range from 40-80 dollars. The fact that they were able to confirm a payment made but my power was still shut off is terrible. If I had not escalated the representatives would not have helped me, I would have been out 147.42 and my power would have still been shut off.Product_Or_Service: electric servicesDesired SettlementI want to be reimbursed for my payment of $142.47 and the $80 in groceries. This was not a cause of a power outage and was an inconvenience that took time out of my day when I initially did my part and paid my fee.NV energy clearly needs to take a closer look at the payment system that is being used,so that this mix up does not occur with me again. It makes me feel uneasy doing business with them because the system is clearly flawed or someone is tampering and editing accounts.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted] SupervisorContact Phone: [redacted]Contact Email: [redacted].comCase # [redacted] customer made a payment through our interactive voice response telephone system on 3/16/15 of $142.47. The payment returned to NV Energy unpaid on 3/21/15 from customers banking institution stating no such account. Reason may be due to the customer entering the incorrect banking and/or routing number in the voice response system. The customer is correct when she received her March statement it reflected the payment made of $142.47. Unfortunately, when the bill generated her banking institution had not yet returned unpaid payment and the balance owing on her bill stated $40.04. However, on 3/24/15 we sent 10-day notice of disconnection and on 3/31/15 sent 48 hour notice of disconnection both showing full balance owing with disconnection date of 4/7/15. The customer personally requested for service to be permanently disconnected and moved out on 4/20/15, currently there is a balance owing on the account of $218.12.

We took over my mom's lease in a house and transferred our energy service from her name to ours. NVEnergy did the changes and said everything was ok. Two days later we woke up and our power was off. We called them and they said my mom owed a balance and that we were trying to "steal service" by switching it to my name, and that we owed $1000. We told them we'd be happy to make payments on what she owed, and they were extremely rude and refused to work with us. And it wasn't even our bill! We finally agreed to pay $300 and they'd turn it back on. We paid the $300 immediately, and they left our power off for FIVE days over a holiday weekend. We called them multiple times and told them we have a two year old and its not healthy for him to not have heat, water, etc... not to mention we kept our part of the deal and they didn't keep theirs. They finally turned it on after five days and we had power for one day and woke up this morning and its off again and they want another $300. They didn't even turn it on for the last 300$!Product_Or_Service: electric servicesDesired SettlementThis company runs rampid. They have a monopoly and therefore do whatever they want. They are extremely rude and unhelpful, and we feel like the power getting shut off wasn't our fault, yet er are still trying to make payments. We're worried about our son having power and still have not been able to get them to restore services. They need someone to keep them in balance. Business Response As [redacted] states, he provided a copy of the lease agreement in his mother's name and requested NV Energy establish service in his name. Service had been disconnected in his mother's name and she had been advised service would not be reconnected until the past due balance of $946.88 had been paid in full in cash. Conversations between [redacted] and NV Energy's Corporate Security took place on May 23, 2014, at which time he was advised service would be connected if he paid $300 on 5/23, $300 by noon on 5/27 and $346 by noon on 5/30. A payment of $300 was received on May 23, 2014 and service was reconnected. Unfortunately, [redacted] did not keep his agreement in making the payment by noon on 5/27 so service was again disconnected on 5/28 at 8:44 a.m. The payment due on 5/27 was received on 5/28 and service was reconnected at 2:14 pm. The last payment of the agreement was not paid and again service was disconnected on 6/4 at 11:29 am. Once payment was received, the service was reconnected on 6/4 at 12:29 pm. This is the last payment we have received from [redacted] does state the bill wasn't his, only because it wasn't in his name, but he did receive the benefit of the service as he lived at the residence also. NV Energy takes "name switching" very seriously, especially when fraud is involved with return payments. When an agreement is made to establish service on an account with a high balance, it is expected that all payments will be received as agreed. Currently, [redacted]'s account is past due and a 10 Day Notice was mailed on August 7, 2014. The total account balance due is $634.14, with a minimum required amount of $463.90 due prior to August 20th to avoid service again being disconnected. The last payment received was on June 4, 2014.

On April 13, 2015 I paid NV Energy in full $126.00 for all services. Leaving me with a 0 zero balance. I was on vacation from March 30th-April 15th (17 days) in which my apartment was vacation NV Energy is refuseing to have the 17 days of absence reflect on my bill. And is currently double charging me $31.98 which was paid on April 13, 2015. I should have a zero balance with a 17 day credit on my account.Desired Settlement17 days of absence from my apartment should reflect on my bill, as well as payment already received from NV Energy for $31.98I would like a breakdown of the $126 which I paid on April 13, 2015Business Response A statement of account was created to explain Ms. [redacted]'s account but the Revdex.com page does not have a place to provide attachments so this information will be mailed to the customer. The complaint states a payment was made on April 13, 2015 for $126 which paid the account in full. Actually the payment received was for $129.01 which paid the account in full through the billing period March 16th.The next month's bill was created on April 15th for $31.98 and mailed on April 18. A payment of $31.98 has not been received on this account and the amount would not have been known on April 13 as stated in the complaint as the meter was not read until April 15th and the bill had not been created at that time.Ms. [redacted] states she was away from her home for 17 days and should receive a credit for this time. The meter only reads the usage that is registered. Even though someone may be gone for an extended period of time from the home there are still items which continue to use electricity such as the refrigerator and water heater. If these items are not turned off, electricity will continue to be used even though no one is home. Also on the Statement of Account is a column which shows the kilowatt hour usage being 184 for the April 15th billing. This number is significantly lower than the previous month which demonstrates things within the home were not using as much electricity, which would lead you to conclude that the customer was in fact gone part of this billing period. A refund for 17 days will not be provided to the customer as the bill is only for the electricity that is actually registered on the meter during the specified period of time. The statement of account will explain the charges as requested.
