NV Kitchen and Bath Remodeling Reviews (%countItem)

We contracted in February 2018 with NV Kitchen & Bath to do a complete kitchen remodel in our house. The project was expanded to include putting drywall in the family room adjoining the kitchen. Also, the existing floor was replaced in the foyer and a half bathroom adjoining the kitchen. Most of the work was done in April and May of 2018. There were some problems during this period, mostly having to do with communications to and from the NV management/project supervision and with actual installation issues. For example, on one occasion, we were expecting workers to come as usual in the early morning. When many hours passed and no one came, I contacted the project manager, Oz S, and found out that no work was to be done that day. But nobody had communicated this to us! My wife and I were spending every day in the basement because of the work being done on the main level.
Despite some remaining concerns that we were confident would be addressed, we made a final check payment to Mr. Z on May 8, 2018, when he came to “close out” the project. Ten days later, work was still being done. We had an issue with the new dishwasher that a *** repairman said was due to loose connections. At that point we insisted on having a licensed electrician check all electrical connections since these had been made by a worker who was not licensed. NV was cooperative in sending an electrician and he found that there were outlets that were not grounded.
Most of the issues we had during the project were resolved. But two problems remained and these are the subject of my complaint. First, the new floor tiles are uneven in various places. In August 2018, NV sent workers out to reposition several of these tiles. However, there was little improvement. An example which I pointed out is in the area of the kitchen table where I sit, I have to lift my chair from one tile to another closer to the table. Normally, the chair would just slide from tile to tile. In March 2019, I discussed this problem with Mr. Z and wrote in an e-mail: “Oz, I don’t know that anything can be done about the floors. But if you have a chance to stop by, we can show you how uneven the tiles are in various places. The previous ceramic tile floor had no such problems.”
The second issue relates to appliance installation, specifically the new refrigerator. We purchased all new appliances from an outside vendor. When the time came, NV insisted on their crew doing the installations - even though I pointed out that the delivery crew from *** was prepared to do the work and the labor cost was built into the price we paid for the appliances. When some silverware was dropped and slid under the refrigerator a few months ago, we realized that the refrigerator was unmovable. It was wedged so tightly into the wooden frame that there is no space between the frame and the appliance. I pointed this out to Mr. Z a month ago. He replied that the labor warranty had expired but he would send somebody out to move the refrigerator for a service fee of $250.
A handyman and his assistant were doing work at our house a week later and I asked them if they could pull the refrigerator out. They were able to move it, but only by each pulling on one side and even then with considerable difficulty. The handyman said that the refrigerator should not have been forced into a space not wider than the appliance itself. He told me that at least a half inch should have been taken off the frame in order to move the refrigerator out and back in more easily.
On June 22, I wrote again to Mr. Z. I pointed out that in August of last year, I had written e-mails with the subject line “Appliance Installation Issues.” I reminded him that NV had insisted that they install the appliances rather than the crew from the company we bought them from. Prior to the recent episode, we had no reason to move this appliance, even though we were aware of the potential difficulty.
Between January and May, I underwent a total of six surgeries on my right foot and ankle. I was hospitalized for extended periods in February and May and unable to move around when at home. The last thing I could have done was to try to move a large appliance. Also, I cannot find anything in the contract relating to a labor warranty period.
I sent a detailed e-mail stating in part, that “Considering all this, it hasn’t even been one year. Either way, NV is responsible for mishandling the installation of this appliance…We are requesting that, in consideration of these issues, you will waive the service fee and deal with the appliance at a time that fits NV’s busy schedule.”
This message was sent on June 22. When no reply came from NV, I resent the message on July 3. I had hoped that this issue would be resolved amicably, but again there was no reply. The total lack of response from NV shows that they are not interested in helping us. I find it very unprofessional to just ignore my message.

I got my kitchen remodeled about a week ago and I am beyond satisfied! NV Kitchen and Bath was the one who reached out to me and gave me an estimate on my project. When they came out to take a measurement of my kitchen, they were very professional and knowledgeable. They answered all my questions with no hesitation! I thought the pricing was reasonable and competitive compared to every other company I looked up. The job they did was certainly worth every penny and I am EXTREMELY happy with my kitchen! They estimated finish time was about 10 days , but they were finished in about 5 days. All of these people are kind and honest. All of my appliances have been updated and my new marble counters are gorgeous. If I ever need anything else to be remodeled they will be the first that I call!! I HIGHLY recommend them for anyone looking for a quick and WONDERFUL kitchen!

Am only 2 weeks into the kitchen and bath remodel. So far they have demolished the areas and installed floor tile. I am afraid for the outcome, if the tiling job is any indication of the quality of their work. There is a "project manager" but he does not manage the project nor oversees the workmanship. He came out once only when I insisted because some of the tiles were uneven (think tripping hazard). Those were fixed, however, when they finished grouting, the guy in charge (not the "project mgr" but the one doing the bulk of the work) said he would have to redo some of the tiles (remove and replace) because one of the workers stepped on them while the mortar was still wet. Really? Grout color is inconsistent; it looks like they used the color I had selected in some areas and in others they used the white mortar. I will update this review as work progresses. But if you are considering using them, I would reconsider. A shame, because their Google reviews were all 5-star.

Week 4 and it only gets worse. Unskilled labor is left to do the bulk of the work. It is up to the homeowner to do the quality assurance check.

Beginning week 8, out of frustration I posted a negative Google review. The owner reached out to me and is working to correct the issues and see the project come to a satisfactory completion. I will update the review once the project is completed.
