Response to Revdex.com Case #***My name is Jerry G*** *** and I am the Co-Owner/HRM Manager of NVU Hair Studio. To begin, Mrs*** came into NVU Hair Studio for a scheduled appointment with MrsT***. She was already complaining about services that were performed by a Stylist from another
salon. Mrs*** arrived with an existing Platinum Blonde color in which the same tint was used to touch up the color for services to be performed by MrsT*** on 10-28-2015. Platinum is an extremely light tint of blonde and there was no evidence of over processing (or laziness) on MrsT*** services. As far as the part of a new hairstyle without Mrs***'s permission, this statement is as well. Services were performed as specified by Mrs*** (end of story). No Stylist representing NVU Hair Studio would perform services other than what is specifically requested by the Client. Suggestions may be made for something different, but would not be performed without discussing with the Client and receiving prior approval from the Client. When Mrs*** called the salon she spoke with my wife Penny G*** (Co-Owner/Operator of NVU Hair Studio). MrsG*** listened to Mrs***'s complaint and each time that MrsGiles tried to give professional advise/information, she was quickly cut short and Mrs*** continued with the complaints, becoming more belligerent as the conversation went on. It was only at the time when Mrs*** made the past tense threat that "she could have made a disruption at the salon" that MrsG*** promptly stated "this discussion is over" and Mrs*** promptly hung up the phone. Mrs*** was in no way ridiculed or talked down to.To elaborate on refund options, MrsT*** promptly performed corrective services (at no charge) for Mrs*** as soon as she was made aware that Mrs*** was un-happy with the original services. After the corrective service was performed Mrs*** was still not satisfied and MrsT*** offered a third service (at no charge) to try to satisfy Mrs***. This service was declined by Mrs***, but please note that additional appointments were made for services to be performed by MrsT*** on 11-24-and 12-16-2015 for haircut and blow dry. If a Client is so dissatisfied with services performed by a certain Stylist, why would you continue to make additional appointments with that Stylist? Furthermore, for the incident that we are discussing, if Mrs*** was not satisfied with the services originally performed why would she add a gratuity when paying for the services?MrsT*** has already refunded Mrs*** a total of $which is broken down to $for the haircut and $for gratuity. The original complaint that Mrs*** had was for the haircut. Evidently the color was added to the complaint later. As far as the desired settlement listed, anyone with any kind of business background would know that no business is going to put cash in an envelope and hand deliver to a 3rdparty that is not even involved in this matter. Really? There will be no apology from me, but I will thank you in advance Mrs*** for stating that you will never return to my establishment. That will make my job much easier. To summarize, I feel as though NVU Hair Studio and MrsT*** have show due diligence in resolving this issue and no further action is required on our part.Sincerely,Jerry G*** ***NVU Hair Studio

In response to Jerry G[redacted] co-owner of NVU Hair Studio: To my knowledge, I have never made his acquaintance or ever heard of him. I did research him and he appears to hold the business license on said establishment. It appears he has no other qualifications or educational background to support the statements he made in his response to my complaint. His statements were falsehoods, based on here say. Certainly unprofessional action on his part. Before registering my complaint, I had a consultation with a licensed hairstylist at another establishment. My statements in original were based on this. She found several mistakes made by Ms. T[redacted] that even I was unaware of. My hair is damaged by color (improper placing color over color) and the type of cut (improper thinning/texturizing) on top layer was the cause. The color damage could be corrected to a point, costing $83.00. A deep conditioning treatment to help, is $25.00. The damage done by the cut can't be repaired unless I elected to shave my head. That's how far the damage extends. It will be a lengthy time of growing it out to counteract that. Also, I reached out to my former stylist who's last color service was in May 2015. Before I came to Ms. T[redacted] for servicing. She affirms through records and visual viewing that my hair color is blonde, not platinum (white). No damage was done whatsoever during her treatment. Never did I mention to Ms. T[redacted] that she had "messed" up my hair. I did say to keep it the same and requested that Ms.T[redacted] not change anything. The only reason I came to this establishment was to take advantage of a coupon sent to me by her, and to save money. We are retired, senior citizens living on a fixed income. My mistake was to come back after using the coupon.  In closing: The partial refund of $41.00, put through my bank account was done after this complaint. I was unaware and not notified. Styleseat.com assured me that Ms.T[redacted] no longer had access to my bank account. This is why I requested a cash refund for my husband to pick up. He is not a stranger and also has an ID to show. The amount of refund now due is $83.00. I stand firm on this and believe it to be fair. In light of other damages I could ask for. Would appreciate an awareness of method of refund. I have stated true facts here, that can be proven. I have copies of text communications, etc. to back up that I was treated unfairly and had damaging services at NVU Hair Studio/Olga Tria. This establishment should be concerned with their reputation in this community as a fairly new one. Requesting Revdex.com to keep this on file, regardless of the outcome. My thanks to Revdex.com for their assistance in this matter.[redacted]

Review: Complaint is of bad service (hair cut, color) by Olga T[redacted] of NVU Hair Studio in Colonial Hgts., VA. On 10-28-15, during a scheduled appointment, Olga over bleached my hair. Around the front of my face looks white, not blonde. Due to over processing, meaning laziness on her part. She cut a "new" hairstyle without my permission. I was specific, like always, how I wanted the cut. I was definite about keeping the same cut, longish, one length, no texturizing, no layers. But, she decided to do the exact opposite. Within a week, I requested to come back to "even it out". One length, blunt cut as much as possible. In going back for 2nd time, she cut it the same only shorter. Total of length loss is approximately 3 inches and has short layers everywhere. She asked me to text her the next day for an update and I expressed concern. She dismissed me as her client and refuses to acknowledge my concerns. In talking to the owner of NVU, Penny, I was ridiculed, and talked down to. She blames me for Olga's incompetence and doesn't believe a refund is in order. I have tried in vain to secure a reasonable solution to this problem, with no progress. These hairstylists will keep your money regardless of a legitimate complaint. This is not fair to a client who now needs repair of bad services and to spend more money on it. This refund should have been offered graciously, but it wasn't. Turning to this agency to help in recovering $124.00 total. Truly regret patronizing this establishment and will never return. Never liked the studio itself, but, was offered a coupon and I returned for a short time. When you leave a hairstylist and come back, some want revenge. This is absolutely what happened to me. Sorry I fell for it. :(Desired Settlement: $124.00, cash in envelope, at front desk of establishment to hand deliver to my husband, [redacted]. Asap. Text notification when ready. An apology would be nice.
