NW Makeup & Hair Reviews (%countItem)

Hello,

I am being charged $585.00 by NW Makeup + Hair and not being given a refund. No services were rendered the event that she was supposed to render services for was canceled. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the event that was scheduled for June 13th, 2020 was canceled. According to the current situation in the state of Oregon we are not allowed to have gatherings larger than 5 people through July 6th 2020. Also currently in the state of Oregon, Hair stylists are not allowed to work they are subject to large fines and losing their licenses. In mid February I tried to call this person and there is no answer. I also tried to email and the email was returned back to me. I have since tried several times to call and there is never any answer nor is there a voicemail to leave a message. I never signed any contract with this company and never received any terms and conditions. I have gone to her website to look for the terms and conditions and can not find any. This person is trying to keep money for services that were not rendered in this time is really deplorable. She has done absolutely no work for this event not even a consultation. This is not a good way to practice business.

Thank you

Hi,

We are saddened to see that this complaint was sent to the Revdex.com and stated they were not able to contact us or get this dispute resolved although I have not received one call or personal email from the person disputing it. Also, the Executive order that the comment states is only extended till July 6th and this wedding is scheduled for July 13th and tried to cancel before the extension was in place. Unfortunately, this is actually a personal matter between the bride and her mother. On 03-20-20, the bride had contacted NW Makeup and Hair about canceling her wedding due to Covid-19 and asking about our cancellation policy, I was away from emails due to being very sick and responded on 03-26-20 sharing our grief over how much the virus is also affecting her wedding date. I encouraged her to look over our contract where it states that the deposit is non-refundable and told her we would still really love to work with her and if there is a date later on in the year where she may be willing to reschedule so we can keep her services.

Bride had responded promptly a little over an hour later saying that her wedding is still on for 06-13-20, but instead of their original wedding it would be a weekend camping trip and would still want bridal hair and makeup and asked if the deposit would cover those services and thanking me for the help and time. We continued talking and although our contract states that in order to book during peak season we require a minimum of 4 (four) additional services on top of the bride which originally this bride had met, but with situation going on asked if we would be able to just do Bridal H+MU despite the contract, subtracting the other required services. We obliged given the situation despite what we had in the contract in order to keep the date. Being that the bride and NW Makeup and Hair came to a conclusion on how we were going to move forward with services, we contacted her on 04-02-20 forwarding the dispute and asking if she would be able to dismiss it on her end. The bride responded immediately asking if we could chat over the phone and I let her know that I would be on a call soon and would call her as soon as I was done.

When the bride and I spoke over the phone she shared with me the unfortunate news that her mother was actually the one in charge of trying to dispute the charge and that she was unaware she had done so and had also called her florist attempting to cancel and request a refund from the florist. She (bride) herself understood that the contract states that the deposit is non-refundable and she was very much still interested in using NW Makeup and Hair as one of her vendors for her wedding. We apologized that she was having to deal with this personal issue along with everything else going on and asked if she could email in an affidavit so I could send it to the dispute department of Honeybook and they would pass it along to the bank. It states what she understood of the contract, that she still wanted to use the services paid for and that she was financially responsible for the new balance with the changes in her services and new location. She also states again that it was her mother and requested her card to be removed from the payment schedule. We then shared this information with screenshots to Honeybook and they responded saying they understand it is part of the contract and who was disputing it and promptly communicated it to the bank. Through the guidance of Honeybook concierge we decided to create a separate invoice for the bride herself with the updated services, travel fees and transferred her paid deposit over and the bride paid for the rest of her services and travel fee almost immediately. Despite the circumstances the bride has had to face personally leading up to such a special day for her, we are very happy to say that we are still providing services and very much excited to be a part of it with her.

Sincerely, Nw Makeup and Hair
