[redacted] is one of the worst business people I've ever worked with. He "forgets" appointments, or he'll make them but then tell you the appointment was never in the book (even though HE is the one who I scheduled the appointment with)... he won't take your calls, won't call you back (but if you call from a different number, he'll pick up). One time his workers showed up so late half the day was gone (missed work because of it), and again, no one called out of courtesy and no one picked up their phones. I would NEVER use them again. Oh, and BTW - the 2 bathrooms (sinks and tubs) that were reglazed - the jobs were done so poorly that 6 months later the glaze is coming off. Don't waste your time - they don't deserve the business. [redacted], you're full of it & not as smart as you think you are.

Review: Last week I contracted NY Bathtub Reglazers to reglaze my bathtub for $400, a job which included sanding the old paint off the tub, reglazing the tub, and caulking the tub.

The contractor arrived two hours late. The contractor's small cart of supplies would not fit through my gate because ice and snow blocked the gate from opening all the way. The contractor refused to carry his supplies the 15-20 steps from the gate, through the apartment door, to the bathroom. Instead he decided to hack at the ice blockage with my rake, which broke my rake. He then leaned into my gate with his full body weight to get it to open further. He succeeded in widening the gp enough for his cart to fit through, breaking my gate in the process.

Once he was inside, he sanded and reglazed the tub relatively professionally. After he left, however, I realized he did not replace the caulk on the bathtub, which was part of the job, as specified on the company's website:

"Standard Bathtub Refinishing Package $350: Reglaze bathtub in white, fill any small holes, dents or cracks. Paper/Mask all surrounding areas. 2 coats of primer & 3 top coats. Remove old caulking and replace with new white caulk."

Not wanting to deal with the lousy contractor again, I decided to caulk the tub myself, a job I have done many times before. I waited 48 hours for the glaze to dry, well beyond the recommended dry time, then taped off the tiles and tub, and applied the caulk. When I removed the tape after applying the caulk, the glaze peeled up with the tape, rendering my tub in the same discolored condition it was in before paying to have it reglazed.

So I ended up spending $400 for a broken rake, a broken gate to my apartment, 2 hours of lost time waiting for a late contractor, 1 hour of lost time caulking a tub, and a tub still in need of reglazing.

I left them a voicemail two days ago describing the problem with their service and asking them to return my call so that I could schedule a time for them to come out to complete the job. They have yet to return my phone call. Since I left that voicemail, I have called them about a dozen more times during their posted business hours, and they have not answered the phone. In the meantime, my wife and I do not feel comfortable showering because we believe doing so will further deteriorate the new layer of glaze due to the peeled sections.Desired Settlement: I'd like the company to return my phone calls.

I'd like the company to finish the job by doing touch-ups on the sections of the tub where the glaze peeled. If that necessitates removing the caulk I applied, I'd like them to do that, and then apply fresh caulk since their website claims that is part of the job.

I'd like them to send a different employee to do this work, because the man they sent the first time was not professional or competent.

If they can't do those things, I'd like them to refund my $400 so that I can contract a proper company to finish the job.

Review: Hector of N.Y.B.R. and [redacted] reglazed my bathtub and tile. He gave it a 5 year warranty for any issues. His ad states he is fully insured. After completion of work I painted the walls and when I pulled the tape large sections of the tile paint pulled off the redone shower tile. After many calls that went unanswered I said I would be filing a complaint with the Revdex.com. I received a text that Hector is now "out of the country due to personal issues". Yet his ads on craigslist are still online advertising his services. He will not repair his work or refund me my money for the poor job he did. The work was looked at by real professionals to repair and was told he did no prep work and the job will not last more than a few weeks. He did sub par work and will not repair, refund my money or return my calls or emails.Desired Settlement: I would like to be fully refunded because after speaking with actual professionals the job was done in haste without any proper prep and was bad work all around. I do not trust him to redo the job or trust him inside my home.
