I paid to have a service performed in the store. I was very displeased with the quality of the service. I asked for a refund and was denied. On September 16,2013 at approximately 3:20 pm, I entered NY Beauty in search of hair pins for my rollers. I then decided to pick up other items such as: two wigs, eyelashes, and one other item. I wanted to try a new look. I asked a female clerk if they applied eyelashes and the fee for the service. She informed me that the price was $15 to have the service performed and I agreed to the price. She charged me for the service before I actually received it. It is now 4:46 pm and the clerk ID is **. At this time, I wasn't concerned about the quality of the service because in my past experiences; I haven't had any problems. However; this was my first experience with this particular business and this service. As the clerk proceeded the apply my lashes, I informed her that she seemed to be adding a lot. When I made this statement, she showed me, with a mirror, the progress she had made. In my opinion, it was horrible! I expressed my view with the clerk at that moment. I told her I did not like the way my eye and lashes were looking. She then told me that she needed to finish in order for my lashes to look better. At this time, I was concerned about the service and reluctant to allow her to finish but, I did. Once she was finished, the eye and lashes did not look any better. I told her that I was not pleased and asked her to remove the lashes. I asked her if I could have a refund on the fee she charged me to apply the lashes only because I was not pleased with the quality of service. She said no. I asked why since I did not receive the service. She stated that they don't do that. I asked to speak to the manager. I expressed to him that I was not pleased with the quality of service provided to me and had informed the clerk during the procedure. He basically told me that I was paying for the clerk's labor for applying the lashes, that I could not change my mind, and that they do not give refunds because "they just don't do that." I told him that she did not complete the job and new in advance that I did not like the service. He became very belligerent and told me he would not give me any money back,that I can call the police if I liked,& that I don't have to come back in his store because I always complain. I explained to him that I never had a problem with the services I received in his store and that was the reason I was in there shopping on that day.I also told him that I worked hard for my money and that I could not allow him to just take it on the basis that refunds are not what they do. I told him that I've given him a lot of business and was very surprised that he would behave in such a matter with other patrons in the store. He told me he didn't care and was not giving me a refund so I stepped to the exit and called the police. The dispatcher advised me to wait outside for an officer. I stepped outside. When the officer arrived, I explained my grievance. He informed me that he could not take a report on the matter because it was a civil matter. He stepped inside the store briefly. I don't know what was said at this time because I stayed outside. By the time this whole fiasco was over, it was approximately 5:23 pm. Desired SettlementI would like a $15 refund of the lash application and also the $2.99 for the price of the lashes that are of no use to me since she used so many on one eye. *Thank you for reading and considering my grievance*Business Response Dear Ms.[redacted]Thanks for E-mail and this is what happen.When she came, She asked us how much is the to apply eye lash and we told her 15 dollars and eye lash is $2.99 and she agreed everything.She picked medium size eye lash and my wife start put it on.After one eye's done she start complain about eye lash is too long so we recommend short size eye lash but she just took it out asked money back so we told her that we don't give money back if she want we will put short size but she deniedIn our store polish we don't give money back.So called police officer and they just send her home.This is what happened and I am attaching our store polish Please let me know if you have any questions. This owner offered no resolve to my grievance. The reason I feel that a full refund is warranted is because before the clerk finished; I told her that I wasn't pleased with how the worked looked. She insisted that she needed 2 finish. Once finished, I was still not pleased. At this time, I had no confidence in the quality of her work. I just wanted my money back & still want it. Also, I haven't seen their store policy. I would like a full refund because no lash application services were rendered to me.Final Business Response
