Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I would like to respond to their statement.  NY/NJ Wildlife did not fulfill their end of the contract.  Per the contract, they were to eliminate the groundhogs.  They came out ONCE to remove a goundhog.  The trapper said it would be an additional charge to replace the trap.   I immediately called the office and said per the contract, they were to replace the traps free of charge until all the animals were caught.  I was told that "the trap did its job and it is retired."  My husband then spoke to the trapper and he said he would give us a deal of two traps for $400.   My husband told the trapper that we would not being giving the company any more money.  We paid them $540 to remove and eliminate the groundhog population.  We told them at this point we were not happy and that they should continue to set traps free of charge.  They did not agree.  Since they did not complete the work, we had to go out and purchase our own traps at a cost of one hundred additional dollars.  Why would purchase our own traps if they had fulfilled their obligation? They tried to scam us out of an additional $400.  The company did leave several messages to finish the job.  Perhaps if they had the same tenacity catching groundhogs we would not be in this situation.  I did leave a message and said that since they did not complete the first part of the job (eiliminating the groundhogs), it did not make sense to fill the holes or put mesh in the hole since there were still groundhogs.  To this day, we still have groundhogs living under our shed.  We also emailed them directly to request a refund.  Please see attached.  To date, we have not had a response.  We called them several times  Had they finished the first part of the job, we would have gladly paid for the second half of the job.  However, we were not going to be scammed out of additional monies for traps that we had already paid for.   Clearly, this company is only concerned about collecting monies for jobs they did not do.  This company has not been in business a long time.  They report that they opened in 2011.  However, after further research they do business as several other companies with the same address. Another red flag.   After further research, the company has many complaints online about them.  I have also opened a case with the state attorney general to help me reclaim my initial cost of $540. If you need any other additional information, please feel free to contact me directly.  I do have the receipts for the traps that we had to purchase due lack of commitment on their part.

In response to [redacted]'s complaint: Customer called and contracted our company to come out and give an inspection for ground hogs. [redacted] was very pleased with what our trapper told her and with...

the price and she then ok'd the work and signed a contract with our company. Contract was signed by [redacted] on 6/**/14. Homeowner had 3 days to cancel the contract if they changed their mind. Contract clearly stated the scope of work to be performed and the price. Contract required a 50% deposit to begin work and the balance payable when the work is completed.
NY/NJ Wildlife came out to [redacted]'s home on multiple occasions to remove ground hogs and when it was time to come out and finish the contracted work homeowners started to ignore our calls and messages. Finally, trapper went out and met with [redacted], [redacted] asked if we could leave the job open a little longer to make sure there were no more ground hogs. Our trapper was accommodating and agreed. We removed all our traps, homeowner bought his own trap and asked our trapper if they caught something would we be able to come and pick it up for them. Again, being as agreeable as possible to the homeowner we said yes. Trapper told [redacted] that he would come back the first week of September to finish the job. [redacted] said fine. If homeowners were not satisfied with something why didn't they bring it to our trappers attention when he was there???
In any case, came the first week of September our company started to try to get in touch with the homeowners. We made exactly 12 phone calls which are all documented and recorded...and left 12 messages on their cell phones and home phones for any appointment to go and finish the job.
After the 13th message company got a phone call from [redacted], who I might add was very nasty and rude to me... stating that she is not going through with the contract, she said we charged them too much money, why do they need us anymore when they can do the rest themselves. And stop calling they are not paying.
Customers never gave our company the opportunity to fix anything they were not happy with, customers clearly did not want to finish paying their balance after our trapper told them what he was going to do to finish the contract. Clearly homeowner was only interested in stealing the knowledge our trapper and then save money by doing it themselves.
Unfortunately, when you sign a legal contract, you are binding to it. They should have given us the opportunity to address all their issues and make them satisfied. They did not. Clearly they just wanted to avoid paying any additional money to the company.
NY/NJ Wildlife Removal stands behind all their work. We have been in business for a longtime and have never left a customer we could not satisfy, too bad [redacted] did not want to give us that opportunity, they just wanted to cheat us out of the balance of the contract.

After trying with little success to get our municipal animal control officer to come out and investigate my claims of a skunk wandering around our yards, I decided to track down an alternative. Given that this skunk was very clearly digging up my yard and my neighbor’s yard and going through our trash bins, we decided to split the cost of whatever remedy we found. I decided to call NY-NJ Wildlife Removal a few weeks ago and see if they could take care of the situation. It hardly took an afternoon for this crew to trap and remove the critter and they were able to use disinfectant to clean the area of errant spraying by the skunk.

I suspected that I had an errant woodchuck in my yard for some time. After all, it wasn’t my kids who were digging these holes all over the yard and I was pretty sure they weren’t gnawing on our fence posts when I wasn’t looking. After finding NY/NJ Wildlife Removal and checking out their website, I figured that these guys would be able to definitively tell me if I had a woodchuck family living somewhere on my property. After pointing on the damages I’d spotted, their crew was able to locate the den, trap the family of woodchucks and relocate them to the woods a mile away where I suspected they had originated from in the first place. All in all, a positive experience for my first time dealing with this company.

When my wife said she thought she saw a skunk in a corner of our shed while taking the lawnmower out, I took the “wait-and-see” approach. Sure enough, this black-and-white menace presented itself during yard work one weekend. Given that the extent of skunk knowledge encompasses the fact that it can spray a foul-smelling odor to ward off predators, I didn’t want to go near the little guy and wasn’t sure if he had rabies. I also didn’t want him harmed, either – just out of my yard. That’s why I called NY/NJ Wildlife Removal after doing some searching online for a company that I thought could properly handle the situation. True to their word, the skilled workers came out, found the skunk’s lair that was in the trees just beyond our shed, trapped him and then re-located him. Thanks again, NY/NJ Wildlife Removal!

I found these guys a few years ago out of the yellow book for a squirrel invasion and they have been my go to for animal removal since.

My old home is prone to animal nests and finds itself being invaded by bird and squirrel nests in the many nooks and crannies that have developed over the years, as well as an occasional raccoon/opossum family trying to make homes under my yard decking.
Not only are they extremely good at what they do, but they are extremely nice, reliable and honest (an important trait that is hard to find in this day and age). Their response is quick and thorough, and always done properly and priced very well.

I just recently I called at 530pm and they were there next day and I was once again critter free in less than 24 hours with no stress.

Sam really knows his stuff and has a great team behind him...right down to the meticulous cleanup.

I highly recommend using these guys..you will not be disappointed.
Thank you

Night after night of listening to their tapping and squeaking was getting to be a bit much. I finally admitted that my apartment had a mice problem and no amount of store-bought traps had solved it thus far. I found the number for NY/NJ Wildlife Removal and gave them a call. They told me that mice were one of the most frequent problems they encountered and could easily figure out a way to remove them after coming to my apartment to check out the problem. After an enlightening session on how to keep the floors clear of debris that could keep the mice coming back, the crew patched up suspected mice holes they found along the floorboards and my apartment has been mouse-free since.

Don’t ask me how, but my attic somehow managed to attract a family of bats. It was strange enough seeing them come and go all the time, but then I started reading about the toxins that their droppings carried and got concerned for my family’s well-being. After a little bit of digging around online, I found NY/NJ Wildlife Removal and gave them a call. After an enlightening consultation session, the company’s workers managed to figure out where the bats were entering and exiting the home from. They installed a door that let them leave but wouldn’t swing back open for them to re-enter after looking for food. Brilliant! And effective! Thanks again, guys.

I wanted to write a review thanking for Sam and Lenore for helping me with my BIRD crisis. We had a major awful issue in my attic in New Jersey area. The quote was accurate and in comparison with another company. I appreciate all their help in making sure the job was done and they followed up in days to come to ensure it was complete.

Taxi Mom

Just wanted to write a email thanking Sam and Lenore for their wildlife removal. A few months ago, we had a disgusting Squirrel issue in our attic. Their company saved the day and disinfected the area completely.

I would highly recommend this company to deal with Pest Stressful Issues.

I am writing this review from Naples, Florida. My elderly parents live in the New York area and was having a awful raccoon issue in their attic. I called NYNJ wildlife and they were kind and courteous to my parents and took care of the problem.

Within days, the issues were resolved and Sam took care of the clean up and disinfecting the area. I am grateful.

Mary

I felt like I had to write this review for amazing job that Sam completed at my home in Summit, New Jersey. I called on a Friday evening with a awful bat issue in my attic. Although Sam, was suppose to have the day off on Saturday for a personal appointment, he changed his appointment and came to my home on Saturday am at 9am. They provided me with a accurate quote and I was BAT- FREE in a few days. Their methods worked and it took the stress out of the high stress situation for my family. Thanks again to Sam and Lenore!

Hi my name is V. F., and I live on Staten Island NY.
I hired these guys to remove squirrels from my crawl space in my house.
They got me squirrel free in less than 2 weeks. Job well done.
Then 9 months later I started hearing the squirrels back again. I called the office and they gave me an appointment for my trapper to come back and look things over. Another squirrel got in and NY/NJ Wildlife came back, got the squirrel out again and they didn’t even charge me…My trapper was such a great guy. He took care of the problem again and it didn’t even cost me a penny. WOW!
Thanks NY/NJ Wildlife Removal…your company is reputable and lives up to its word and its guarantee.
I would recommend you guys to everybody.
Thanks Again…

Stay away from these guys.
I contacted them to have work done on my house. Remove birds nesting on the vents. A man came to give me an estimate and take a $50 deposit. Told me I should get a call from the company in three days. Now its been almost 3 weeks with no response from them. Called and left several messages with no reply. Asking for return of money.
These people are a fraud operation.

As soon as I finished posting this review, the company called me, "following up" on my job request. I told her I did not want anything to do with them and requested my deposit back. She stated that it was a "service call" and that no refunds will be made. I told her I thought her company was a rip off operation and insisted to have my $50 returned. Do not deal with these people. I later contacted a reputable company who quoted my a job 1/3 the price of these operators.

Stay away from this company. The person named Sam that they sent out is very arrogant and dishonest. Not to mention their rates they charge for doing hardly anything are outrageous.Stay away from this company

Review: I hired NY/NJ Wildlife Removal to remove ground hogs from my property. Per the contract that I signed, they were supposed to remove and eliminate my ground hog issue. They left 2 traps and I was told to call them when the traps went off. The first trap caught a possum. I called the company and they came to remove the possum. Per the contract, they were supposed to reset the trap until groundhogs were caught and removed from the property. The man who came to remove the possum said he would reset the trap for an additional $400. There is absolutely no mention of a per trap charge on the contract. We told the representative that we would purchase our own traps if that was what they were going to charge. After the rep left, we called the office and was told that the trap did what it was supposed to do and that trap was retired. I explained to the office that the trap did not catch a ground hog and that was causing the damage and per the contract, they were contractually obligated to remove and eliminate the ground hog problem. The office continued to call us and harass us to "finish the job" and pay another $570 to fill the holes with dirt. I left a message with the office that we were not "finishing the job" because they did not even finish the first part of removing the animals. This business is very unprofessional and does not care at all about wildlife removal. They just care about getting paid for services they did not complete.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for my initial payment of $570.00, as well as have no responsibility to pay them for the second half of services they did not complete.

At this time, I have not been contacted by NY/NJ Wildlife Removal regarding complaint ID [redacted].

Sincerely,

Review: The business made an appointment I left half the amount they requested $1150.00 they came and took the money and did no work. I called and asked for my money back but they would not give it to me and they told me they were a neighborhood and family owned business, they guaranteed their work etc.

I had to call and threaten them and ask for my money back before they would return to do work. They came one day for half an hour and put up 2 sheets of metal (about 4 to 6 inches wide) and told me they had to return because the laborer was afraid of heights. then I had to chase them down again. They made an appointment and cancelled it again. After I threatened them, they came for one hour and attached another piece of metal. I asked arent' you supposed to put traps up for the squirrel? He yelled at the worker to come and give him cages.

While he was in my attic he made a loud noise. He later asked me disdainfully who my Air conditioner guy was becuase my ducts were not connected (I later asked the A/C people and they told me it was pulled out!!! I think he was trying to scam me again by getting someone in here to botch up my A/C system).

I sent my complaint letter to their address on the website and it was returned to me. I was advised by another person in the business that they should only be charging me maybe $300-$400 max and they wanted $2300!!!

While Sam S[redacted] was here a second time he made a comment that I took to be a threat...about my wires for my security camera...in the meantime he made another appointment and cancelled that too.

I called and demanded they return my money as it was 6 weeks later and they did not remove the squirrel from my property...they just gave me one big headache and added to my anguish at the squirrel problem.

I spoke to both Lenore and to Sam on two separate occasions and demanded my money back...they never returned my money or came back to take their squirrel cages. (I had planned on serving Sam with the letter when he arrived; the letter asked him to cease and desist from doing any more "work" and to return my money).Desired Settlement: I want my money returned in full. I was aggravated and I do believe this is fraud. The day they came to work was the fourth anniversary of my husband's death but I was desperate to get rid of the squirrels.
