I'm not sure what statements the office is referring to as being false, but if they're claiming that they didn't misinform me prior to my appointment whether or not they take my insurance I have email records from them acknowledging that they did.The following is from my emails with *** *** from their office
"We take great pride in making sure patient responsibilities are understood beforehand. In this unusual situation, we were unable to let you know until you came in on a Monday because your appointment was made on a Friday and your insurance was not verified until that SaturdayHowever, you did have a deductible both in and out of network, so no matter where you went that Monday you would have had to pay an out-of-pocket cost towards your deductible"I also find the argument that it would not have mattered whether I went to an office that accepted my insurance or not concerning and invalid, considering I would have never have made the appointment with them and later did schedule with a doctor that did take my insurance for the same desired treatment. In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above

Review: While scheduling an appointment for treatment for a [redacted] for Nov ** with [redacted], I was incorrectly told by their office over the phone that they take my healthcare (united) as in-network. Only until the end of my consultation did [redacted] reveal that they were in fact out of network -not before pushing hard for me to do a physical therapy session with their in house therapist immediately after my appointment with him.Still surprised, I found they wanted credit payment immediately rather than sending a bill, for $400, which I've never experienced at a doctor's office before. Shocked at what had just occurred, I payed in full at the time per their insistence. Later that day I called, explained my dismay and how I was misinformed, and asked if there was any sliding scale for payment. I was told they would look into reducing payment, and was called back later specifically confirming that they would refund me $150.The reimbursement never came, so I filed with amex that I was over-billed, which [redacted]'s office later disputed with [redacted], standing by the initial $400 consultation charge. In response I contacted them via email, stating the history and assuming that they had lost track of the refund they had confirmed over the phone. In reply they completely denied the fact that they had offered a refund of the very specific amount as stated before.I found the fact that they had now misinformed me completely twice very troubling, along with statements they made saying that 'because I still had a deductible in-network it would not have mattered if I saw an in or out of network doctor'. Obviously I would never have seen them whatsoever had I been correctly informed by their office to begin with. I can happily provide the full email transcript if desired.Desired Settlement: First they should refund what they initially said. Considering they misrepresented themselves, promised this amount, and I only received a 20 minute consultation.I also was concerned by how hard they pushed for in-house PT the same day, charging immediately, same day in full rather than sending a bill, and misrepresenting themselves twice, there is a pattern of exploitative behavior. At the very least they need to add in-network insurance taken on their website.

Response:

I had the pleasure of working with [redacted] during his visit at the office. [redacted]'s statements are false. We do provide services for patients, accepting their out of network benefit. I never stated "in network" in our conversation. [redacted] asked for a partial reduction in payment, after voluntarily paying my known fee on the same day of service after leaving the office. This is not consistent with the office policy. [redacted] is upset at the amount of time spent and is willing to put a price on that. The physician's fees are set for an initial consultation, independent of amount of time spent. [redacted] attempted to block the credit card charge without notifying the office. We responded by showing the credit card company his agreement signature to pay the fees of the office and the charges were not reversed. I want to be clear, I've worked in this office for over one year and this is the first case of "misunderstanding" that we have encountered.
