Horrible- the shuttle bus ignore and skip you
I’m was standing right on bus station. The bus driver drove on mid lane, ignored and skipped me without any intention to watch over people eating at the stop. For the next bus, I had to rush into the mid of street to stop it! I cannot believe an empty bus driving around in the city without knowing it’s job/purpose is to picking up passengers!

I had like to bring to your attention of my bad experience with the Downtown Bus Drive this morning.

Below are my experience with him just in one-day today, 5/16/17:

I usually take the 8:05.am. Ferry from Edgewater to Midtown and take the downtown bus departure approx.8:25a.m.
Today, we had a new Bus Driver and he was rude to the passenger.
1) He refused to open the back-door for the passengers to get-off without a legitimate reason.
He just told them to get off from the front door.
2) The worst is his driving skill that was so horrifying that he was driving recklessly and speeding as like he has no patience at all. In fact, he almost hit (3) pedestrians including a lady crossing the intersection of 23rd Street and Park Ave South, that he had slammed on the brake each time this morning.
3) He refused to stop when three passengers have ringed the bell for stop between 21st and 14th street on Park Ave.
He literally yelled at us that there is not a NYC bus stop and said “this is not a PRIVATE Bus you know….”.
I got off the bus feeling so aggravated. Do I really need this stress with commute by the NY Waterway ferry?
Is this the expecting customer survey that you are looking forward to review?

My questions:

I have been taking this downtown bus for over 5-years by now and I never had such bad experience before.
Remember, we all need to get to work on time and that’s why we pay more for the easy commute to work.
We are talking about the distance between 21st to 14th Street, there is not a single NYC Bus stop!
Why I have to walk 5-blocks to get to my work because the Ferry Bus does not stop in between?
It is ok now in the summer, spring or fall. But, can you imagine the Winter during snow storm?

In comparison, it is almost the same if I could have taken the PATH train or NJ Bus and I would end-up the same walking distance.

For Customer’s satisfaction, it will be more practical to add a stop on 18th Street (bet 21st & 14th Street) for the morning downtown bus. Does it make any sense to you?

Review: I accidentally purchased the wrong monthly ferry pass on my cell phone 9/1.

I immediately contacted the vendor regarding my error and was told by the representative that she could immediately issue a credit if I purchased the right ticket. I did so over the phone and never received a credit.

Followed up 3 times:

1st time - I did not mark it down. Was told they were forwarding the issue to accounting and they would get back to me in a day or two.

2nd time (10/5) - Asked to speak to a supervisor. Left a message for [redacted] in the am.

3rd time (10/6) - the only record they have is my call on the call on 9/1 and no one followed-up. Was told that and email will be sent to accounting and a supervisor. Asked to be cc'd on the email and was told "no".

Today is 10/8 and I still haven't had any follow-up from NY Waterway.Desired Settlement: Full refund of the $229.00.

Review: I had guests from out of town. Decided to take them from Midtown to Brooklyn via the East River Ferry. First time I used the ferry. Went to 34th St. Terminal before 2 pm on June 1 and bought 5 tickets. Ferry was due at 2:17 PM. It never came. Waited until 2:50 pm. No ferry. Someone called, and was told the ferry "broke down." No way to know when or if another ferry would come, so we left. They refuse to refund the cost of the five tickets. I paid for a service, they failed to provide the service, and now they refuse to refund the purchase price. I have no way to use these five tickets. It is illogical and unethical to demand prepayment, fail to provide the service, and then refuse to refund. A stated "no refund" policy cannot be applied to a situation like this where _they_ fail to provide the service or merchandise!Desired Settlement: They should refund the cost of the five tickets I purchased, a total $30.00.

Review: We have asked repeatedly for the heating system on the vessel "The Finest" to be repaired, and so far all requests have been ignored. NY Waterway opts to send this boat on the first run out every day, without providing any heat, whatsoever, for the comfort of their passengers. This morning's temperature was 48 degrees at departure time. As the week progresses, it will be even colder in the mornings, but there is no response from customer service regarding this matter.Desired Settlement: They must make repairs to the heating system immediately.

I received a notice on behalf of [redacted] (consumer) stating that the Belford Ferry has no heat. Please be advised this matter has been resolved.

Last Friday, November 15 2013 Ferry Operations worked on the heating system. I am not sure if [redacted] has sent in any additional notifications, but she was contacted last week with a follow- up.

Review: On July 20th, 2015, I tried to purchase two tickets for the East River Ferry from the kiosk at the Long Island City stop. After selecting ‘Cash’ as my form of payment, I inserted two $5.00 bills and awaited my tickets and change. Neither of them were disbursed to me and a circle appeared on the frozen screen. At that time, the ferry to go to 34th street arrived and I spoke with one of the agents on the boat and he suggested called the [redacted]. One of the other persons that was there with me called and made a complaint and the agent at the other end of the line said that someone would be there shortly. In the meantime, the screen unfroze and I tried that transaction again but with my card. Which it accepted. I was on my way to work so I was unable to wait for the agent. One of the agents on the boat to the captain and he gave me the same number to call for a refund. I called and spoke to an agent and she gave me the email address [redacted] to write.

I sent an email that very morning and attached images of the frozen screen. She wrote back next day and said their records show that the transaction was a success. I wrote back objecting and asking for a review and I have not heard from the company since.Desired Settlement: I would like to have my ten dollars refunded that's all

Review: Sequence of Events:

1) I had 5 Ferry tickets left on my loaned [redacted] while my [redacted] was being repaired.

2) On 12/14 at 16:45, I tried to board the Ferry but my account was locked. [redacted] to Midtown)

3) It was clear that I had the tickets but could not activate it.

4) The ticket collector would not let me on even though he saw that I had unused tickets.

5) The ticket collector and ferry operator started to threaten me to call the cops.

6) They started to yell at me so I told them to force me off because it’s not that I was trying to have a free ride. I had everything ready but there was no way for me to activate the ticket because the instruction from the App was not correct.

7) The incident was resolved when one of the passengers with extra ticket gave one to me.

8) Then the ticket collector told me that he would NEVER allow me to get on the ferry again. And, he even took a photo of me in the ferry.

9) I called the Customer Service 16:55 but no one was picking up the phone for another 20 minutes and finally I got my tickets unlocked (so I would have missed 2 ferries)

10) I called the Customer Service a few times to speak with the supervisor[redacted] but when I insisted that I wanted my unused tickets money back since I am not allowed on the ferry, she hung up on me.

11) I called back to speak to her Supervisor, [redacted] but he was in a meeting and in spite that he was left with a message, he did not call me back. So I will go with Ms. [redacted] suggestion to file a claim to the court and Consumer Affairs of your organizations’ conduct.

I only take the ferry if it is necessary during the rush hours and that is why I have 10-ride tickets. I did not find out my tickets were locked until I was getting on board. I had everything ready and was not even try to get on without having purchased the tickets. I understand that your policy is not to refund. However, this warrants an exception since I was told that I was not allowed to be on the Ferry.Desired Settlement: Since I am not allowed to use the service, and nor do I want to after being publicly humiliated in front of my coworkers, I would like a refund for unused tickets. I will not use the ferry service again so that they don't have to deal with me, either.

AWFUL customer service, actually ZERO customer service. They have teenagers working their phone lines. Nasty attitudes. If their app is not working, be prepared to be forced to purchase additional tickets on top of your MONTHLY PASS DESPITE PROVIDING A RECEIPT as they will not let you on the ferry even if it's THEIR app having issues. They tell you to call customer service for a refund, when you call, the woman who answers has a very nasty attitude and does not issue the refund. She instead tells you you will be banned from the ferry for calling 5 times BECAUSE I AM ASKING TO BE REFUNDED! GARBAGE SERVICE.

Review: They cancelled the newport ferry. now they won't refund my 10 tickets I haveDesired Settlement: Give me my 80 bucks back! I have the tickets and would be happy to send to you.
