Review: I hired two vehicles from this company for my wedding that had taken place on December **, 2013. I agreed and had paid for the following:

$348.71 a Lincoln sedan for 5hours. It was to arrive at 12:15pm to pick up my husband to be and his mother to take them to St. Patrick's Cathedral. It was to stay until my ceremony was over and then take my husband and I to Grand Central for wedding photos and the final destination was to our reception at Terrace on the Park.

and

$400. 32 for a Chrysler 12 passenger Limo for 4hours. It was to arrive to pick up myself and my bridal party (including 4 children and my photographer) at 12:45pm to take us all to St. Patrick's Cathedral for my wedding ceremony and to stay until the ceremony was over and take my bridal party to Terrace on the Park in [redacted].

I was also told in writing that any hours that were unused for both vehicles would be reimbursed. The total that was charged to my debit card was $749.03.

My Review:

The 1st car that was suppose to be a Lincoln Sedan, was not a Sedan. It was a Mercedes. It did not arrive at 12:15pm, it arrived at 12:30pm and did not take off until 12:50pm because the driver insisted that the person who made the booking had to be in the car (I was waiting for the limo to pick me up since it was my wedding. Surely the company must know that the groom does not see the bride before hand). My husband to be, offered his credit card instead and the driver refused to drive him and his mother, until finally he agreed to leave without needing any additional credit or debit cards.

The second car, was the 12 passenger Chrysler Limo that was scheduled for 12:45pm. The driver did not arrive until about 1:30pm. When my party was entering the Limo the driver handed me two slips to sign stating that the cars in fact picked up my husband to be and also me and my bridal party was picked up. We did not take off till about 1:45pm. The driver was extremely rude. When we began to drive, we noticed it was very warm in the limo. We asked the driver if he can put the AC on. He replied no and asked us to shut up. The driver picked up speed, stopped short and two passengers came out of there seat, one being my mother and the photographer. At this point we were about to enter the high way, we were on [redacted] near the intersection of the Bruckner Expressway in the Bronx. There was some loud whistling and hissing sounds coming from inside the the vehicle and it began to rapidly fill up with smoke and the panel that separates the passenger from the driver compartment turned black and we were all screaming to let us out of the car. The driver said no and rolled down the windows. I started to scream to open the doors and I was able to pull the pin on the lock to open the door. and I ran out of the vehicle and so did the rest of my bridal party with some of them holding the 4children in the middle of the street with oncoming traffic going in three different directions. I had a 1yr old, 6yr old, a 8yr old and a 10yr old inside the vehicle. Luckily were able to get onto a sidewalk safely.

My father told the driver to pull over and turn the limo off. The driver took off on the expressway with the limo still smoking and all of our belongings in the car including my diabetic supplies, my luggage that had passports in them, my bridal parties, jackets, purses etc.

I immediately called the company once I made sure everyone was safe. I told them everything that happened. I was told by the gentleman that picked up the phone that he would give me the cell phone number of the driver so that I can tell him to come back. He offered no apology or asked if we were all OK. I said to him that I was a bride and I was a customer, it was there job to not only ask make sure we were safe and also to contact the driver. He hung up on me. I called again and he said he would tell the driver to come back to give us our things. Thankfully my photographer and my father were able to walk 10minutes to their cars to get us to my wedding ceremony. The limo returned while still smoking and my father, myself and my photographer took everyone's stuff our of the trunk and the limo left again. We have pictures of us on the corner with the children and bridal party and of this limo returning. I was late to my ceremony with my family and friends and my husband to be sitting in St. Patrick's worried about everyone.

After the ceremony, there were no replacement limos outside to take the larger part of my party to the reception. I called and they kept hanging up and could not even tell me if the second car was available or near the church. Finally after 30minutes, we saw the smaller car blocks away from the church, I asked the car to take my mother, my mother in law and the children to the reception (which was a 25minute drive). The rest of my parties went in other guest's cars and others took car service. I had to pay for tolls and gas that day. My husband and I went into my photographer's minivan.

I did not receive a call from the company the next day. I called them. No one returned my call. I finally got an email saying they would reimburse me for the limo that caught fire but not for the 2nd car that we hired that did not give us the service I paid for or agreed to. I emailed them and said for all the inconvenience, danger they put my family in and for the money I ended up having to spend without any resolution to send emplacement cars with no followup call, I expected a full refund. I did not see a refund and since it was the holiday season and also my wedding week, I did not follow up. I then called Chase, my bank and filed a dispute for the entire amount of $749.03. They gave me a temp credit and said they would follow up with NYC Crown Limo. NYC Crown finally refunded me , except only for $400.32.

On February **, Chase said they refuted the rest of the amount for $348.71 because they claimed they rendered services as agreed and I used the vehicle for 5hours. This was absolutely untrue. Chase paid NYC Crown Limo and took the amount from my account. I have reopened the claim with Chase and mentioned that I will be making complaints against the Limo company through the Revdex.com and the TLC.

This event was scary and people could have been severely hurt, including children. People have died in similar circumstances like this. The company said that was not their problem. There are a number of complaints on other websites with this company when it comes to cheating customers out of their money. I wish I would have known in advance.Desired Settlement: I have taken the advice from the Revdex.com website when I looked at it back in December advising customers to work it out with the company first. I have done so and have not been successful. I am asking for the entire amount to be refunded to me. I am asking for the Revdex.com to help with the remaining refund of $348.71 and to put an alert on this company's practices.
