NYC Dog Cachet Reviews (1)

Review: I first went into dog cachet to ask about their daycare prices. The woman behind the counter quoted a price of 20$ a day with free pick up and delivery. They only have a very small room with no toys or dog run around space so this cheap price seemed reasonable. Then the owner, [redacted], called me back and said it would be 35$ a day with no pick up or drop off. I said that her employee quoted another price. She went back and forth about this then demanded I pay 4 months in advance with only pick up at 10am. When she charged me she then put a 3$ charge on each day. I had to agree because I had no other option. Her first employee then texted me as though I was the owner begging for money. [redacted] apologized and said she had been fired for being a bad worker. This was very unprofessional and strange. Then [redacted] began complaining about dropping my dog back off when she employee said it was part of the service and I live one block from their business. I would also often come in and all the dogs were in cages instead of out playing, which is what I paid for. The final straw came when she began letting her 15 yr old niece do all the work. Her niece picked my dog up when she wasn't supposed to then dropped her off and didn't put her back in the cage, as instructed. My dog eats shoes and [redacted] knows that. When the niece let my dog roam free in the house she destroyed 2 pairs of expensive shoes. When I called [redacted] to talk about this, she yelled at me and hung up on me. She then texted me that my dog would no longer be cared for even though I paid for another two weeks. After much argument and her insulting me via text she sent a check for half of what she owes me. I sent her all the contracts and documentation that she still owes me quite a bit of money and she has ignored it. Overall this is a disorganized, shady, and unprofessional business.Desired Settlement: 46 ( 2 days) + 80 (destroyed shoes) = 126$ and a personal apology. She should not do dog sitting without backyard space.

Response:

[redacted] came to my salon and asked if I did day care. I told her I did and that I had different packages. She asked me if they were kept in cages, I explained to her that grooming dogs are kept jn the kennel and all dogs are kenneled when the floors are being cleaned and is closing time. I then discussed the rates; 1 to 3 days were $35 daily, 5 days would be less and of course a 7 day package pre paid for 12 months would be $20 a day. All services provided from 9am to 6pm. [redacted] told me she had spoken to other establishments offering the same service and they had quoted her $20 per day. I explained to [redacted] that was way below cost. After much dispute I agreed to accept the $20 a day for 3 days a week on a pre paid for 3 months with absolutely no replacement days to extend the months she wanted the service for. Then [redacted] wanted to add pick up and delivery. I explained to her that would be extra because I would have to h ire someone to do that. [redacted] explained that she was a school teacher an she would leave at 7 am to work, since I opened at 9am it wouldn't work out. After much pleading I once again accepted to pick up her dog([redacted]) in the mornings. [redacted] had arranged to have her roommate pick up her dog in the evenings if she was to be running late. The hours again were from 9am to 6pm. After a couple of weeks of providing services to [redacted] I called it to her attention that closing hours were at 6pm and I would charge her extra because of her 6:30 or 7pm arrivals. [redacted] then asked if I could drop off her dog so she wouldn't have to pay. She explained that her roommate did not want to pick her dog up. I once again agreed to drop off her dog at no charge. One morning when I picked up [redacted] I notice she had destroyed a leather jacket and some shoes. I contacted [redacted] immediately. [redacted] explained to me that on the other days that her dog was not at daycare with me she had a different person walking her dog and that service had been suspended due to the fact that the dog walker had stolen $10,000. Because of this, her dog [redacted] had been very upset for not going out and was chewing up on everything. I suggested she get a dog trainer to help her dog deal with the anxiety. After weeks of picking up [redacted] and dropping her off [redacted] starts switching days for daycare. I explained to her this was not allowed because it conflicts with the advanced scheduled appointments. [redacted] was not happy. I spoke to [redacted] and explained to her that I was not able to pick up [redacted] early in the morning for the next couple of weeks. I introduced my niece to her and told her she was willing to help us both out. [redacted] agreed and was happy because I agreed to pay $10 for the pick up. I am now making a total of $10 a day for this labor. One morning [redacted] decides to switch the day but it was too late, my niece ha d picked up [redacted] like usual while [redacted]'s roommate was still at home. I immediately called and asked her to bring [redacted] back home and she did. A few hours later [redacted] calls me insulting me and demanding To pay her $30 for her roommates shoes that were destroyed by [redacted]. I told her absolutely not that was her responsibility not mine. [redacted] claimed my niece did not put [redacted] in a caged that was in her bedroom. I told [redacted] my niece left [redacted] where she found her in the living room as always. [redacted] then started threatening me and stated if I did not pay the $30 for the shoes she would put me out of Bussiness. I then decided she was not welcomed back and mailed her a check for 4 days of daycare services a total of $90 plus taxes that was left from her package. As a dog service provider my responsibility is to make sure the dogs are kept safe and are provided with a comfortable and clean environment while staying in my establishment. I'm not responsible for what happens in their home.

Response:

If I chose to do a favor out of kindness it does not bind me in any way as with a contract agreement between my business and [redacted] as a client. This to me is only proof of how I personally extended myself to this customer. At this moment I'm feeling bullied and this customer is slandering my reputation because of her ego and temper tantrum because I did not tolerate her threats. Once again I am asking for a written contract agreement between [redacted] and NYC Dog Cachet. I have tons of months of text messages where [redacted] is asking me to drop off her dog because she's running late or her roommate could not pick up her dog and that is still not part of a contract those were only favors out of kindness to her dog and to please a customer.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]

Again your employee stated pick up and drop off. Your contract was not only not specific but written in childlike written handwriting. I told you my work hours and you agreed. In agreeing to drop off my dog, you would then have to follow my directions once inside my home. It is not out of kindness it is out of verbal agreement and professionalism.

Slander is based on untrue facts. Nothing I said said is not correct factually. At this point of circular irrational rebuttals and no apology for unprofessional text or conduct, I will pursue more severe measures for business wrongdoing and irresponsibility leading to destruction of private property.
