Revdex.com:At this time, I have not been contacted by NYC Rooms 4 Rent regarding complaint ID [redacted].Sincerely,[redacted]

I was provided accommodations by NYC Rooms4Rent..
I found the services excellent and I am well pleased with the room that was recommended to me. The young woman , Erica , was very kind and cooperative. I have only positive things to say about this business.

Review: Utterly false advertising. Classic "bait&switch". Service promises modern,CLEAN,furnished/unfurnished rooms. W/wifi/cable tv. IN PROMISED ROOM. Kitchen/bathroom access. NO MENTION is made of pets in homes,(allergies&while it was a sweet pit bull, wouldn't take its snout away from my ____),communication,(I am not bilingual; all the places were primarily Spanish speaking). Literally needed grandson/granddaughter to translate at two, separate locations. Another,Spanish speaking voice mail, never returned my call. Substandard bathrooms. Roaches in one kitchen, another not shown. NO WIFI,or TV. At ANY of the offered rooms. Which IS PROMISED on the website. One residence at [redacted]was so vile,I thought I was in the remake of SILENCE of the LAMBS. Padlocks on the*outside* of the doors. Dingy. Dark. Dirty. Garbage, outside the grimy, unsecured, first floor window. Decimated walls/woodwork. The man doing the showing kept me waiting 20 minutes,&when he finally opened the door,I was glad no one was smoking, because the alcoholic vapor escaping his mouth would've have ignited us to kingdom come. Another,a Grandma, quizzed me on my personal habits, via said Grandson. I'm over forty. Don't need a curfew. Or a chaperon. Have requested my $200. fee returned. In writing. On the phone. And,now, here. My transaction was on 1/*/15.Desired Settlement: I would like the $200. I paid for this farce returned to me. I also would like the copy/s of my ID they put on file, destroyed. The agent ([redacted]) who I met with on 1/*/15,was pleasant,&professional. I got the impression after my initial complaint, she was totally unaware of what kind of places she was sending me to; not good,or acceptable,to be selling a product of which you are ignorant of detail. Especially something this personal. From what I witnessed,it seems the clientele may be of the impression they have no recourse if they aren't satisfied.

Review: They are the biggest scams out there. They have a policy that they will help you find a place until you actual find a place. I would be outside waiting for 8 hours because [redacted] would tell me to wait for 15 minutes and eventually 15 minutes turned into 8 hours. I only saw one room and this place calls themselves #1 source to find a room. Beware these people are so incompetent and they need more skilled workers who knows what they are doing. I talked to a representative named [redacted] who was supposed to email me on Thursday July **, 2014 but she never emailed me. When I asked [redacted] why she never emailed me on Thursday July **, 2014 she stated that she wrote my number wrong. Really, I told her my number 5 times and I told her my email 4 times. Besides, we agreed that she was going to email me and she did not. I called NYC Rooms for Rent today to ask them to give me my $200 back that I paid them to help me find a room and they stated that they have a non-refundable policy. I told the representative named [redacted] that they had a policy to make sure that they help me find a room. I informed them since [redacted] is associated with them than they broke that policy by not helping me. I remember many days that I would call NYC Rooms for Rent to help me find a room but they never called me back to tell me either that they couldn't find rooms or that they found a room. I would keep calling them from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm and I would finally get [redacted] an hour before they closed. [redacted] would say that he would call me in 15 minutes but he would never call back. Everyone save yourself $200 because I ended up finding a place on craigslist which is a free website. I wasted $200 with this scam agency and I am warning everyone not to go to NYC Rooms for Rent for help.Desired Settlement: I would like NYC Rooms for rent to refund my $200 for not obeying the contact. that was signed by both NYC Room for Rent and myself. That Policy ensures that NYC Room for rent would keep helping me until I find a room.

Review: I had paid to pay the business Rooms4Rent a deposit of $200 on February *, 2015 prior to using their services. Through the contract I had signed, I was guaranteed that an apartment within the budget provided would be found, I have not received the service promised. I was disappointed to find myself being sent around to areas that were not only not decent but to apartments in which being told it was the landlord owning when they was not. When I arrived to such areas, they did not show me the place, was not informed that rooms4rent had their place listed, or illegally renting a room in their apartment. I was told that these areas that I was sent to were the only areas available. Three (3) days of searching I chose to ask for a refund for not helping me find an apartment with me but just randomly told me addresses of places to show up to. I filed a dispute with my bank to retrieve my refund, they were able to refund me February *,2015 but then the business rebilled me again on March **, 2015 for that deposit.Desired Settlement: Refund my deposit.

Review: My name is [redacted] and currently I'm homeless and disabled and need a place to stay. I went to the homeless shelter to receive help and they put me in contact with nycroomsfor rent. I went to the office located at [redacted] accompanied by a case worker from Wards Island homeless shelter. We spoke to a guy named [redacted] and their company fee is $200. I told him my situation and my price range of $500 - $600 a month and he told me he had two places available within a price range of $450 and $600. I wanted both contact information for those rentals so I signed a contract and gave [redacted] the $200. I proceeded to the first location at [redacted]. I looked at the room available; the rent for this location was $600 a month. I wasn't satisfied and left. I called [redacted] and told him I'd like the info for the Queens rental location for $450. He said he'd call and then call me back in 10 mins. We exchanged a phone call in 10 mins and he said the woman renting the room wasn't available that he'd call her over the weekend. I endured and slept on the train over the weekend anticipating for Mon; to get my living situation stabilized. I do not stay at the homeless shelter because of the living situation and criminal activity and I have asocial disorder and high anxiety. I called nycrooms4rent first Monday April **, 2014 at 10:11am. Spoke with a woman and she said could I please call back in 10 mins; I replied I would and I gave ample time and called back at 10:40am. [redacted] answered and said he would call the Queens rental and get the information so I could go see the location, I asked him "why had he not spoken to her over the weekend?" he then tried to persuade me to see two different locations in Manhattan and a different Queens location. I stated I am only interested in the Queens location that is available for $450 and that is the room I want to look at. He said he'd contact the mysterious Queens lady and get the information but that is a different boro and that he only deals with Manhattan and the Bronx. This is not what he told me when I was in his office accompanied by the shelter case worker. He then hung up on me and I called back five mins later and then a female answered the phone and that she would pass along a message for him to call me back asap. Please help.Desired Settlement: A refund and penalties against NYCROOMFor Inc. Located at[redacted]

Review: NYC ROOMS 4 RENT PROMISED ON THEIR WEBSITE "OUR ROOMS COMES WITH ACCESS TO KITCHEN" THE ROOM THEY FOUND ME ONLY HAD ACCESS TO MICROWAVE AND A TINY SPACE IN THE PROPERTY OWNER'S REFRIGERATOR. NYC ROOMS 4 RENT ALSO PROMISED ON THEIR WEBSITE THAT THEIR WOULD BE CABLE, THEIR WAS A CONVERT A BOX INSTEAD SHOWING ONLY LOCAL CHANNELS. THEIR WEBSITE PROMISED A FURNISHED BED, BUT THE DAY AFTER I MOVED IN THE BEDDING WAS TAKEN AWAY AND I WAS MADE BY THE PROPERTY TENENT TO GET MY OWN BEDDING. SINCE BEING THERE I GOT BIT BY BED BUGS, HAD ISSUES WITH WATER BUGS, AND IN RESPONSE I WAS TOLD BY THE TENENT OWNER "YOU FROM THE COUNTRY YOU SHOULD BE USE TO THAT"

I GAVE ROOM 4 RENT $200.00 AND I WANT MY MONEY BACK DUE TO FALSE ADVERTISING. I TRIED CALLING EVERY SINCE 01/**/2014, ASKING FOR THE [redacted] I WAS TOLD HIS NAME WAS [redacted], AND EVERYTIME THE ASSOCIATES WORKING FOR NYC ROOMS 4 RENT WOULD TELL ME HE'S NOT THERE OR TO CALL BACK AT A LATER TIME. IT IS NOW 01/**/2014 AND I STILL HAVENT BEEN ABLE TO GET IN CONTACT WITH THE [redacted] WHEN I CALLED NYC ROOMS 4 RENT AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE PROBLEMS I WAS DEALING WITH IN THE ROOM THE ASSOCIATE [redacted] REFERRED ME TO, I WAS TOLD TO BASICALLY DEAL WITH THE ISSUES MYSELF, SO THATS WHAT I DID. I FOUND A ROOM ON MY OWN. NYC ROOMS FOR RENT HAVE NOT EARN THE $200.00 GIVEN TO THE FROM ME SO I WANT IT BACK.Desired Settlement: NYC ROOMS 4 RENT HAVE NOT EARN $200.00 GIVEN TO THEM FROM ME SO I WANT IT BACK

Review: I rented a room through Rooms4Rent. The building I moved into, [redacted] street (I lived in [redacted]), is noncomplient with NYC law regarding smoking. As it contains more than ten units, smoking is prohibited in the common areas. I have witnessed smoking on 3-4 occasions, and occasionally the odor of marijuana is present in the hallways. When I complained to the Super regarding this problem, the Super informed me that he does not rent to me. Apparently, this is because the tenant renting out the room in the apartment was not authorized to do so by the property owner. Rooms4Rent should be accountable to ensure their customers are renting out rooms they are authorized to do so and that the rooms and buildings are complient with local laws.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of my forfeited security deposit of $600, their fee of $200, and $500 for compensation for my inconvenience of moving, due to improper business practices. I will take legal action if necessary.
