We have no record of the first phone callWe are also not sure why they would have been told “that seal failures never happen”That is a very common occurrence with ANY brand windows and the reason for the warrantyThe only explanation that we have is we did have a relatively new employee that was handling phone and sales calls and he left during that timeBecause of seal failures being common, the manufacture did not need to look at the windows, but based on the numbers given to us by MrsNice, they were able to send out replacement windows at no chargeIt was a very easy and fast transaction, considering the windows were installed over years priorThe manufacture warranty does not cover installation of any replacements, just the cost of any defective partsNyhof Custom Gutter offers a year labor warranty, but that does not apply to this situation since installation was over years priorMrsNice called about the windows after we delivered them (after not being able to reach them by phone due to their landline being disconnected)Our sales rep explained how to install them and she seemed fine with thatThat was the last that we heard from them until nowSince the replacements were sent at no charge, there are no funds to be reimbursedHowever, in order to resolve this situation, we are willing to install the locks on the windows at no charge to the customer

A ridiculous explanation by Nyhof Custom Gutter & Aluminum. Nyhof conveniently omitted to bring up my initial call to them BEFORE my wife called them. I called them first, approximately three months before my wife called them back - we heard absolutely nothing from them after my initial call which is exactly why my wife then tried calling them. In regards to the installation, as I've previously noted in our complaint, Nyhof told us "we we're lucky to even be getting the replacements and they WOULD NOT be coming over to install them". Nyhof completely ignored our request for installation, not only in refusing to install them but also never offering to us any other options whatsoever. As far as having both Nyhof and a rep from the window manufacturer come to our home to inspect the window failures, well, that never happened either. Allow me to elaborate: the second time we made contact with Nyhof, which was my wife calling, Nyhof told her they'd never heard of such a thing (our window seals failing) and that they would be coming to our home along with a rep from the window company. Long story short, we had to install our own replacement windows without tranferring the locks to the replacement windowas because we're not professional window installers and we don't want to damage the new replacements in case they also fail and we have to be replaced in the future. We now have nine windows which may or may not stay closed throughout the upcoming Wisconsin winter. We would like to be compensated for the cost of those nine replacement windows. Thanks for nothing, Nyhof! As I noted in our complaint, customer service at Nyhof could not be worse - buyer beware.
