Review: My daughter had surgery on 8/**/14. As part of her pre-op on 8/*/14 she had a procedure done that was never submitted to my medical company and I was charged $789.33. When she had her surgery, I paid the hospital $4004 out of pocket now the hospital is holding my refund. I have called numerous times, emailed the doctor twice and gone to the hospital billing office twice. The insurance company is willing to accept a retro pre-certification. They will accept either a phone call or fax from the doctor's office. On November [redacted], [redacted] (the [redacted]) told me she would call. On November [redacted], [redacted] told me she had been out of the office and her replacement was "supposed" to make the phone call. She said she would do it after Thanksgiving. The pre-certification was never done. On December [redacted] and December [redacted] I sent an email to [redacted] making him aware of the situation. He said he would look into and have someone contact me. On December [redacted], I went to NYU Medical Center and spoke to [redacted] in Patient Financial Services. He said he would get back to me by December [redacted]. He also said he didn't understand why the service was never submitted to the insurance company. On my two different times at NYU Medical Center I was told my refund should be either $751 or $950. I also explained to everyone that I would be changing insurance companies January [redacted] and I would like it to be straightened out by then. As of this date, no one has gotten back to me. [redacted]'s phone number is ###-###-####.Desired Settlement: I would like my refund so we can finally close this case.

Review: I went to visit a doctor at this facility per a my oncologist referral. Went to the doctor, had them see me for two minutes to tell me they were not the right doctor for me. I then paid a $50 co-payment and my claim was submitted to my insurance company. So the doctor was paid by me and by my insurance. A few weeks later, I get another bill for $140 hospital facility fee. I call the doctor office and they tell me to handle it with the insurance. I call the insurance company and they say to handle it with the doctor's office. I keep getting a run around and multiple phone calls and a year later, nothing is resolved and a collection agency is now after me. This is absolute robbery. The building I was in is not a hospital. I was a patient in a doctor's office and on top of it I was billed for someone to tell me they werent the right doctor for me. I cannot afford my health insurance, plus doctor visits and not illegal hospital fees.Desired Settlement: I would like the credit agency to stop harrassing me will bills and phone calls. This is robbery to be charging a facility fee. I also went to my onocologist of 12 years recently, asked about the fee, billing told me they were not sure about a facility charge. A few weeks later, I am now (again) being charged for another facility fee through NYU. This is unjust. I would like these charges removed and this should be investigated. To be charging people facility fees in complete nad utter robbery.
