My son [redacted] paid $250 to have his Jeep serviced at Oil Can Henry's in Tigard. They drained the fluid from his front differential and didnt refill. He then drove for 5 days with it dry. Concerned about the noise coming from the front end and afraid to drive it to work, he called a mechanic he knew to come check it out. It was found to be dry and work was done to remove, inspect, replace and refill the front diff. My son went back to the shop to fill out the report paper work. They didnt offer him any refund. My son left disappointed, asking that I have the further contact with them. I called and asked why. I was met with a complacent employee who said things like "I dont own the place" "I cant just open the cash register" He, days later offered to pay the Sunday service call. I had done some investigation that said if you accept any payment from, there's fine print that obsolves them from any future financial responsibility, so I declined partial payment. I really felt they should have offered to reimburse [redacted] for the amount he paid originally as a gesture of apology. No. Then I let him know that the front differential had to be rebuilt and I told him where we were planning on going. He asked for the invoice. I said the work hasnt been done yet. He repeated that he needed the invoice as soon as possible. I repeated when the work is done we will. After dropping off the Jeep when they could get it in. Oil Can Henry's had called and "gave the nod" per the shop, to go ahead and do the work. 6 days later the work was done and they told the shop we would have to pay for it. $925.49. I called corporate office, who couldn't answer. She was going to have [redacted] from Tigard call, who did. I had to call him back who made the offer to reimburse us for both service calls but only $39 of his original $250 out of pocket. That just added insult to injury. My son hasnt been able to rent a car, because he's too young and has been using my car, or a friends to get back and forth to work and school. It's been a huge inconvenience.
