In regard to Mr ***'s claim of roof leak damageWe did install a new roof for him in May of We installed standard ridge vents that we use on almost all of our residential roof installsWhen he complained after years of no alleged leak issues, out of professional courtesy and at no charge, even though this was NOT a workmanship deficiency we replaced the ridge ventsWe responded to his complaints of leaks and determined that the leak, on a FIRST floor ceiling with no evidence of a leak on the second floor were caused by a ceiling vent that his ceiling contractor buried when his ceiling was re-done and no way related to the roofWe believe we have provided Mr [redacted] a quality professionally installed roof and customer service but will not pay for alleged damages that are not related in any way to our work

Revdex.com spoke to *** todayHe stated that when the weather breaks, they will replace the 10-foot section of the ridge ventsThe customer will be called at that time

Revdex.com spoke to *** *** today as he disagrees with the response. *** stated that there was no problem until Neth did the roof and changed the style of ridge ventThis has been an ongoing problem and was noticed now as the winters have been mild up until last yearThe dry, blowing snow came in and melted and finally made its way to damage the ceilingNeth was told about it and when it was looked at, stated that the leak was coming from the vent pipe in the bathroomConsumer stated that when the ceilings were done, no vent pipe was buried and was not damagedThere is nothing above their bedroom ceiling except the roofThe consumer had another company come out and they stated it was the style of ridge vent that was usedOvertime, the snow melted into the ceilingNeth put in high ridge vents when the house had existing low onesWhy the change? Neth came back and replaced only some of the high ridge vents, now the consumer has styles of ridge vents

In regard to Mr [redacted]'s claim of roof leak damage. We did install a new roof for him in May of 2008. We installed standard ridge vents that we use on almost all of our residential roof installs. We responded to his complaints of leaks and determined that the leak, on a FIRST floor ceiling with no evidence of a leak on the second floor were caused by a ceiling vent that his ceiling contractor buried when his ceiling was re-done and no way related to the roof. As you look at the pictures, the ridge vent on the right hand side is the type they installed when they put the new roof on the house; the ridge vent on the left side is the one that they reinstalled after we had a problem with the snow blowing through and melting and coming through two of our ceilings.
The type that they reinstalled is similar to the one that was on our original roof which did not allow snow to blow through. As you can see from the picture, the one they installed when they replaced our roof is much higher than was on originally and the one that they reinstalled.
When they replaced the ridge vent that was letting the snow through, they would not replace the rest of the ridge vents on our house which makes it look like a "real neat" job.
Regards,
[redacted]
