Review: On Sept 7th, my daughter [redacted] charged a room for her Brother [redacted] good for a week. On Sept 9th [redacted] had a medical emergency in the room had to have an ambulance come and take him to the hospital. In the mean time, my daughter contacted the owener and told him we would come up from Vegas and Utah, me and her and clean that room and make it right with him. he said that was fine. We got there, cleaned, scoured that room from top to bottome, cleaned and steralized the kitchen and bathroom, because there was blood. Also we brough a carpet cleaner and cleaned the entire carpet in the room. That room has never been so clean. It certainly was much cleaner than when my son got in there. We asked the lady who worked there, to come and check it out, she did, and said it was great and looked fine. Later we went back, and got the owner a man, he came in didn't even look at anything at all, would even look us in the eye, and told us, the carpet is 2 yrs old, and he could not refun my daughters card which he owed her for 4 more days. I feel we were cheated and not treated properly, and we did right by doing our part. I would like my daughter to be reimbursed what she is owed.If this is how he teats the public, he's doing wrong by a lot of people. I want something done about this.Desired Settlement: He needs to refund my daughter [redacted]'s card she used to buy the room for the week, she still had 4 days yet and he took that from her, by refusing to refund her. How terrible.

Dear Ms. [redacted],
Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Ms. [redacted]'s allegations. The room for [redacted] was initially rented at a reduced weekly rate (7 days) of $269.50. The condition of this rate is based upon room occupancy for 7 consecutive days. If the guest does not stay the full 7 days, the daily room rate of $44.00 is then applied.
Mr. [redacted] had an unfortunate medical emergency on 09/09/12. After Mr. [redacted] vacated the room, it was noted that it contained large quantities of blood in the bathroom, kitchen, on the bed and in the carpet. I concur that Ms. [redacted] did call to inform me that she and Ms. [redacted] would be here to clean up the room. They did come and clean the room on 09/10/12.
I would like to comment on Ms. [redacted]'s statement regarding the condition of the room. She stated "That room has never been so clean." I do not feel that Ms. [redacted] is qualified to make that statement because she had never been in the room prior to Mr. [redacted]'s medical emergency. I would also like to present the fact that my Motel is inspected yearly by the State of Montana and has scored 100% indicating no deficiencies in cleanliness.
When Ms. [redacted] and Ms. [redacted] returned on 09/11/12 to request a refund, we returned to the room and I inspected it myself. I noted there were still blood stains in the carpet. The carpet has been cleaned 2 additional times but there is still visible staining in the carpet from the blood. This carpet may still have to be replaced.
The charges incurred are as follows;
$44.00 x 4 days = $176.00 (Room occupied 09/07/12-09/09/12 plus 09/10/12 when room was being cleaned by Ms. [redacted] and Ms. [redacted] and I was unable to rent it.)
$50 for carpet cleaning x 2 = $100.00
Total charges incurred $276.00, which is $6.50 more than Ms. [redacted] initially paid on her card.
Although I sympathize with the circumstances arising from this unfortunate incident, I do not feel that I have conducted business in an unethical manner. I feel I have been fair and equitable.
