[redacted] Dear Ms [redacted] This letter is in response to the complaint made by [redacted] I received a call from [redacted] stating that she had no waterWhen I arrived to her residence I realized that that I had been there before some time backI performed a water flow test at this residence fora potential buyerThe flow test did not meet the requirements for the bank, so the sale never went through.I proceeded to see why [redacted] had no waterMy son and I pulled the pump and noticed that the las feet of pipe was splitThis condition is common when you have a low-yielding wellI replaced the pipe and installed a check valve feet from the pump as designed by the pump manualI then ran the water to the top of the casing to remove any air or particles in the waterThe flow of water was fine as was the running amps on the pumpAt the point, I made the connection to the pitlessI then went down to the basement and turned the pump onThe tank filled up quickly to pressure, as it shouldAt that time I told [redacted] that she needed to conserve water due to the low yielding well or it will happen againShe stated to me that she has had nothing but problems with this well since she purchased the place. After the job was complete she stated to me that I needed to get a hold of her brother for paymentThere were no problems and everything went smoothlyAbout days later she called again stating she had no water and if I could come back that dayUnfortunately, it was a Sunday and I was out of town for my son's sporting event so I was unable to go that day and she hung upShe called back a little while later and asked if I could come the following day, which was a Monday, and I said yesShe asked me if I took payments and I told her no but I do accept credit cardsShe then said something rude and hung up and I haven't heard from her sinceAs for the comment that the check valve was installed incorrectly- "upside down"A check valve permits water to flow in one directionIf this valve was installed incorrectly she would have had no water at all, especially about days laterI believe her problem is caused by cavitation in the pumpThis results in heat causing splitting and/or swelling of the pipeAgain, this is commonly caused by a low-yielding wellI feel I did my job professionally and correctly and that I do not feel she should be refunded her moneyThank you for your time.Peter O [redacted]
