The ***’s signed a proposal for a new vinyl liner on 2/10/that included installation of a the new liner, replacement of all gaskets and face plates, a new light ring, and pressure testing of the pool linesContrary to their claim this did not include any work to repair leaks in the pool
light or the skimmer linesWe would be happy to provide a copy of the signed proposal if necessaryThe old liner was removed and the new liner was completed on 5/23/The pool lines were pressure tested resulting in the detection of a significant leak in the skimmer line of the poolThere was also determined to be a leak in the pool lightThe pool was losing water and the filtration system could not be started due to the skimmer line leakTo assist the client, we installed a circulating pump to keep the water clear and circulatingThis was to allow the client time to make a decision on how to proceed with the necessary repairsThe ***’s repeatedly asked our installation workers to assist them by returning to the pool to help with the leak in the lightOur workers returned to the pool times at their request to help with the skimmer line issue and the light even though these were not included in the original proposalOur staff invested over hours of labor time in trying to “help” the ***’sThe client did not compensate O’Brien for any of this timeThe ***’s were give a proposal for $2,to completely replace the skimmer lineWe informed them at the time we had projects ahead of them for other clientsIn an attempt to help them we offered to move their project ahead of the others if they signed right away and paid a depositBecause O’Brien had already invested so much uncompensated time in their pool, and because the ***’s had a history of slow paying, we were only willing to offer to do the work at a fixed priceThe ***’s signed the proposal, paid the deposit, and O’Brien Pools completed the repairsThe final bill was due upon completion, however, was not paid until days laterAfter completion of the repairs the ***’s reported an issue with fading in their vinyl linerInspection by the manufacturer determined the fading was due to water chemistry issues caused by the clientO’Brien does not weekly service their poolIn an attempt to assist them we intervened on their behalf and persuaded the manufacturer to replace the liner at no cost under the warrantyThe manufacturer’s warranty expressly states that it covers replacement of the liner, and not installation laborO’Brien strongly believes we have made every effort to serve the ***’s as evidenced by the fact we have invested over $in uncompensated labor time in their poolUnfortunately, our relationship with the ***’s has deteriorated to the point we are no longer able to assist them.*** ***, President
