Received payment in full $from [redacted] for all specific BID work plus hourly (8.25) wall repairs that I was asked to finish up and coat of paint on all doors window casing, stairway stringer sides(3) ballisters (1/absolutely flush to wall) & newell post(for agreed price of $105)

Mr [redacted] rec'd a written bid on January 16, It does not include a price for hanging border, because I forgot to add it I did not estimate noof rolls necessary, he did & apparently didn't measure very well ( rolls of border are linear feet so its easy to measure) because I forgot to add that item on bid I hung the two rolls provided for FREE (no waste) specifically hour work at $23/hr my work charge Well, no if not paid for hrs work, at which I lost $6/hr because of paper difficulties I wasn't exactly going to re-paste & hang the 6-ft necwhen they obtained it When I spent mins talking & measuring to get info to do bid I said my work hours were 7am - Noon so they knew I worked hr days Here are my hours: 2/ 2/ 2/ 2/ hrly work Wall repairs - much more skim coating & taping of cracks, swales remained to make walls suitable for papering in addition chunks of paper remained along all wood trim & had to be cut out Old pipe vent above fireplace wasn't flush above south windows the paper baking wasn't even removedI used 2-1/gallons of drywall mud to finish skim coating*Also when asked what it would cost if I removed old wallpaper I told Janice (***s Mom) that I only removed paper by the hour I told her my hourly rate was $23/hr Of course these weren't hr days I can't make "mud" dry instantaneously!!! Rest of hours: 2/ (Started Priming) 3/ 3/ 3/ 3/ 3/ 3/ 3/ NOT 2-hr days as stated by Mr [redacted] I called [redacted] Sunday 3/to tell him I could hang the border the next morning sometime between 9-am I did the same, though it was a freebie Well, yes, I did turn thermostat from degree down to degrees I cannot work at such a staggering temp& wallpaper dries too fast to work I did not receive a single call from Mr [redacted] , & certainly didn't hang up I did have problems with the wallpaper that went in den/t.v room & stairway When I came to measure for bid I asked about repeat on paper & didn't get an answer That information is crucial when estimating amtof paper needed & time to hang it I did say that I din't want to hang any paper w/a: Cloudy/swirly/streaky effect because you'd think there's no repeat, but there is and I found it frustrating to try to find it Well the paper for those areas that he gave me was a brush stroke style with no repeat yeah!!! Regrettable that paper didn't have enough paste to stick to wall, so I quit that day & they got a different paper with, GUESS WHAT? - the match from [redacted] + finally found a streak about 1/8" wider That's kinda a (unintentional) bait & switch I didn't waste any paperBut did make short (at baseboard, stair baluster) cuts I regret not quitting when I opened up the second paper because the work wasn't up to my standardsIt's very hard to work with a difficult match when you're frustratedBut tossing the short pieces & using another roll wouldn't have gone over too well I suspect I'm trying to understand how I didn't hear a peep from Mr [redacted] the entire time I was there if he was displeased -- Kinda ingenuous to wait isn't it? There was no quote for painting wood work because I wasn't asked for one! When he did ask I quoted $for Frt Room ( windows, a wardrobe closet, mantle piece, door frame & baseboards): $for stairs (tape off stringer both sides) railing, outside stringer window casings, doorways, baseboard I don't believe the wood work had been painted since 70's or 80's judging from color & conditionThe paint provided was good quality but coat doesn't perfectly cover scratched, dented, chipped woodworkAnyone should know that Since I hadn't heard anything, or received any payment on March invoiceI sent a 2nd note to Mr [redacted] & stamped I w/ (INTEREST OF 18% PER ANNUM CHARGED BEGINNING CALENDAR DAYS FROM FINAL BILLING DATE' I generally don't use it when I bill reputable clients since it is a little insulting, but no contact , no payment, a job that took weeks on which I lost $6/hr on my hourly wage because I tried so hard to not waste paper needs a wake up notice I was NEVER, at any time rude to either [redacted] or his wifeShe was surly (making the job even more difficult) most every day she let me inBut I understand how hard it is to have your house torn up for weeks I will sure hang rest of border (free) is [redacted] wants - He will need to supply border paste to repaste for hanging on top of wallcovering I did not leave them in lurch RE: Hanging Border I did not want to drip any water on baseboards or doorframes when they had been freshly painted 3/ They only had to move a couch for access to the walls How was that inconvenient? See note on Bottom 3/invoice I made a bad judgement call to hang paper with this type of repeat Some how I think quitting in middle of job wouldn't have pleased them either I apologize for having had trouble on a difficult job yrs in the business & this is the first complaint Ive been made aware of

I called *** Sunday 3/to tell him I could hang the border the next morning sometime between 9-am I did the same, though it was a freebie
Well, yes, I did turn thermostat from degree down to degrees I cannot work at such a staggering temp& wallpaper dries too fast to work
I did not receive a single call from Mr***, & certainly didn't hang up

I was NEVER, at any time rude to either *** or his wifeShe was surly (making the job even more difficult) most every day she let me inBut I understand how hard it is to have your house torn up for weeks
I will sure hang rest of border (free) is *** wants - He will need to supply border paste to repaste for hanging on top of wallcovering I did not leave them in lurch RE: Hanging Border I did not want to drip any water on baseboards or doorframes when they had been freshly painted 3/ They only had to move a couch for access to the walls How was that inconvenient? I am rejecting this response because: *** lied about most of what she saidShe never told us that she worked only hours a day and she never worked nearly the hours she said she did! I did the hardest most time consuming part by stripping the walls down to bare plaster and a large part of patching the wallsShe worked a couple hours a day at most! Otherwise she wouldnt have been there weeks and STILL NOT FINISHED WALLPAPERING TWO SMALL ROOMS!! I paid her much more than what should have been charged based on her over exagerating her hours workedI don NOT WANT her back on my propertyI will finish the job that she couldn'tHowever I do demand she mail me a reciept stating that she has been paid in fulldegrees is hardly staggering heat!! I have a small child at home and it was very cold outside! I keep my thermostat at year roundMy wife did let her in most of the time but never made her job difficult! *** shoul seek professional help but that is her problemI am willing to finish the job myself all I am asking is this be made public so others can see what they are getting into when hiring O'dells paintingI do want a reciept stating paid in full!

Received payment in full $from *** *** for all specific BID work plus hourly (8.25) wall repairs that I was asked to finish up and coat of paint on all doors window casing, stairway stringer sides(3) ballisters (1/absolutely flush to wall) & newell post(for agreed price of $105)
