manager here at OATS INC. I received a complaint written to your department in regards to a sales call that was made to [redacted].On Wed Nov 29th, 2017 at approximately 10:30 am I reached out to Mr. [redacted] to extend my congratulations to him on the purchase of his new home. Our leads are generated from public information and are based on new home purchasers which generate a new mortgage and in turn we offer "mortgage life insurance" that would provide a death benefit equal to the homes purchase price. As I was explaining to Mr. [redacted] who we are, and what we offer, he immediately became very defensive, which is normal. However in this case [redacted] also became aggressive and demanded to speak to a manager or threatened to call the police. I informed him that I was one of the managers and that although the other manager, [redacted], was unavailable at the moment, I would be happy to help him. Mr. [redacted] became vulgar and verbally abusive to the point that I warned him of having to remove myself from the call if he continued. After a few moments I had no choice but to hang up. At that moment I felt like I would rather not take his calls anymore. A short while after, Mr. [redacted] decided on calling the office at which point [redacted], the office manager, took his call and informed Mr. [redacted] of our process and operation. [redacted] all of the information we gather is public and no way, shape, or form do we offer any indication that we are defrauding the individual. We only give the individual information that we have on them but never ask for any information in return. Our objective is to schedule a face to face appointment. I am truly sorry that Mr. [redacted] was having a bad day but I am certain that by focusing his energy on our call, he will not find a solution. I found that much of the letter written was outrageous and unfair. It is easy for an individual with a vendetta to use platforms like the, [redacted], to prove a point. Mr. [redacted]'s information has been removed from our system.
