I am rejecting this response because: Why is this business putting words in our mouths? My husband NEVER EVER said that the house was dirty. What he did say is that he had it professionally cleaned and Miss [redacted] said when the sun was shining during the daylight hours and you turn your head to the left you can see a faint shadow of grease_!!!! My husband was able to only see that when he moved his head that way and opened the blinds...in other words your twisting and bending the truth to suit your argument. Which AGAIN is why I took pictures. We did not present a dirty apartment to you...the apartment was always kept immaculately clean so how would it suddenly get dirty upon leaving. Go look at the photos yourself. And regarding your claim that I wanted an ONDEMAND inspection....once again you are twisting things to make me look unreasonable. What REALLY happened is we wanted to know when we should come back for the second inspection!!! How is that asking to have an inspection now??? When my husband ASKED when to come back they told him HE CANT!!! he asked why and they said they didn't know when he was going to get to it, my husband was willing to come back when they wanted and they REFUSED. I'm sorry but I'm not your typical uneducated fool that your obviously used to dealing with. I am in my right mind and thank God I took pictures because I would love to hear you tell the judge how dirty we left the apartment and how quickly you get thrown out of court for fraud.

Attached please find a letter that was drafted and sent to Ms. [redacted] sometime between the time she wrote Oakwood Apartment Community and the time she contacted the Revdex.com. As you can see, each of her concerns were...

addressed and we agreed to credit her Security Deposit Disposition $75.00 in good faith.
I have included with the letter a copy of the invoices in question as well as a copy of the page in Ms. [redacted]'s lease which states what the Security Deposit may be used for. I cannot supply you signed copies of her lease without her permission. If you feel is would benefit your investigation, we can contact the resident for her approval. I have also included the copy of the inspection sheet. The pre-inspection results are highlighted in yellow and the post move out inspection is highlighted in pink.
Though it was not noted in the letter to Ms. [redacted], her husband was provided a copy of the Pre-Move Checklist noting items that still needed to be cleared at that time. This copy is signed by Mr. [redacted] as he was present for this inspection. They did not opt to be present at the time of the Movr-Out inspection.

Review: My apartment complex has many handi cap residence, but only 1 designated handi cap spot up front of my building. Due to the unavailability of this spot and the 72 hour parking allowance on this spot many residence and even guest are forced to walk extended distances to get to their homes even while unloading groceries etc . A few residence have even grown keen to the 72 hour hold and are now rotating cars. Pulling one out and then parking the other in the handi cap zone. It is being used as an additional parking spot. This seem highly unjust.Desired Settlement: I would like the residence to change all handi cap signs to the visitor handi cap signs with a maximum of 30 minutes approved parking for unloading. This will benefit everyone. No 1 resident will be able to claim the location.

Response:

I am writing a response to your letter dated 4/4/14. We are required to provide a certain number of handicap spaces within the community. While there is only one handicap space provided immediately in front of this particular unit, we provide the required amount of spaces needed in the community as a whole. Oakpoint Apartments (previously Oakwood Apartments) has set a policy in our parking rules that any vehicle parking in an open (unreserved) space is first come first serve basis and cannot occupy this space for more than 72 hours at a time. If a resident calls and complains that a vehicle has occupied a space for more than 72 hours, we then tag the vehicle for tow. Unfortunately, we cannot change the handicap space to just visitor handicap nor can we change it to a loading zone. By doing this we would lose the space as a handicap and no longer be in compliant. If you have any further questions please contact me at ###-###-####. Thank you, Rachel LoBue Community Director Oakpoint Apartments

I was erroneously charged cleaning and repair of a apartment that I rented from them. I rented an apartment from Oakwood Apartments in [redacted] from March 3, 2013 thru June 12, 2015. I always paid my rent on time in full. Never complained about anything. When I moved out on June 12, 2015, a final walk through was done by myself and one of the employee. I was told by the employee that everything looked good and ok. I get a letter from them a week later stating that they are taking my security deposit and charging me additional monies for cleaning and repairs. I was charged 35 dollars a piece for two blinds that was non damaged at all. 55 dollars for shampooing a carpet that has not been changed since the apartments have been built and that was already heavily damaged when I rented the apartment. Things that I cleaned, I was charged again because they went back cleaned them again, which was unnecessary (vacuum carpet, stove, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher etc. The apartment was given back to them cleaner than I received it as a tenant. Desired SettlementThe resolution I am looking for is a refund of some of my security deposit. I think charging me for touch up paint is fair but everything else is erroneous charges and as a Soldier in the US Army I do not deserve to be taken advantage of like this.Final Consumer Response Oakwood Apartment has agreed to disregard the erroneous charges. So I am happy with the outcome.
