I procured the Oasis Companion Care Services in November, 2018 to provide a companion for my 96 year old mother who lived at *** in Cheektowaga, NY. I worked with Oasis in November, December, and January. I determined as we neared the end of January that I needed additional days and hours for a companion, and the Oasis services were too expensive. I decided to hire a companion for my mother from a private listing.
I gave Christy G the Oasis representative 2 weeks notice in January that I no longer thought I would need her organization's services. The service required a month payment in advance for February, which was $740. I ended up not needing the Oasis services because I found a private companion for my mother at the start of February.
As per my initial contract, when I gave Christy my cancellation notice, after 30 days I was to be refunded the $740 for February as well as my initial deposit of $400. I expected the refund to be made on March 1, 2019. The refund did not arrive. I contacted Christy and she said she would look into it. There was no refund on April 1st...nor has there been any refund submitted to me.
I spoke with Christy on April 11th and was told that she had the check and could either deliver it in person or send it by certified mail. I asked for certified mail and was told it would arrive on either Saturday, April 13th or Monday, April 15th. The check has never arrived. It is now April 22, 2019.
I am owed a refund of $1040.00.

Revdex.com spoke to Christy at business and the following was relayed: We have a two week notice in order to receive deposit back. She did cancel and chose to used the refund toward the last two weeks instead of refund. During the last two weeks of care she decided she wanted a refund. We did refund the customer a partial refund which the customer accepted.
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
