Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2017/06/21) */
this agent was captive with united health care and desired to move to the brokerage side doing the same thing as he had prior
he was told we would do everything we could to get him the telesales equipment he wanted even though he and we
knew it was uncommon for brokerage agents to use the same equipment that captives use
united health care would not release the desired equipment for him after our extensive attempt for them to make an exception
oberlin marketing has never had or used this type of equipment only united health care
he would have paid licensing fees(carrier appt
fees) to united health careNOT oberlin marketing
there would have been no reason whatsoever to pay for any carrier appt fees prior to knowing whether they wee going to meet his request
oberlin marketing never recieved any fee of any kind from this agent
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2017/06/21) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
It is not my fault that Oberlin Marketing doesn't seem to have any skin in the gameThey could only win; they could not have been out any costs whatsoever; and it's this sales practice which I find unacceptable
They should not set people up for large business expenses then be unable to deliver the toolsI contacted a marketing firm after them; Gordon marketing (another FMO just like Oberlin)They politely told me that I could not get telesales tools; and had to enroll face to faceThey never cost me a thing to get good information on how they are allowed to conduct business with a health carrier
It was their responsibility to do so; which they neglectedThis is why I believe they should have their Revdex.com rating dinged; as it may alert other insurance producers from falling prey in the futureThank you
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2017/06/28) */
agents set themselves up in each state they want to get contracted in to do business and they pay united health care those fees to licenseoberlin marketing has never and will never be involved in fees from the insurance company
there was no reason to pay those fees until agent was ready unless he was going to do business in those states whether the telesales tools could b used or not and uhc did not make the exception for him after a vigorous effort on our part to get it
oberlin marketing does not charge or recieve any fees for contracting whatsoeverthose fees are between the agent and the insurance company and always have been and this agent knows that without a doubthe was licensed prior as a captive with this company
