Obsession Boat Sales & Service Reviews (1)

I received a total of $2,944.00.  20% of contract price on 1-6-16. I stated that we would be there to start work on on the following Monday. Monday morning I contacted [redacted] via text message letting him know I was running a little late because I had to meet with some of my guys...

that morning to get them material for another joband that as soon as I was done I would be picking up material for his job and heading that way. I arrived on job site around 10:30am with material and my subs where there to start work. We completed the sheetrock work and wall insulation that day. That evening before we left, I let them know that we would be ready to start painting the next day. Mrs [redacted] then told me they hadn’t picked out paint colors but they would be going the next day. I then told her that we would not be there until she had picked out her paint colors and to let me know as soon as they did. After a few days went by of not hearing from the [redacted]s, I called and followed up with her to see if they had picked out the paint colors. Mrs. [redacted] then told me over the phone not to rush them, they are elderly and she wanted to make sure she picked the color she wanted. I left it at that, thinking that they would call me when they were ready for us to go back. The same day we were doing the sheetrock repair I had my sales rep from McCoy’s go by to take a look at a door we were going to replace and to order the same one. He showed up in the afternoon looked at door and I gave him the ok to order door. The next day Mrs. [redacted] contacted me and told me to wait on ordering door. She wanted to look at it before we ordered. I explained to her that it was a special order door and that they don’t carry them in stock but I would meet her at Mcoys to see if they had any that she could look at. I asked her to give me a time when she could meet or to call me when they where going to go by and I could call and have one of the sales reps show them if I was unable to make it.  She later told me she was going to look at doors somewhere else. She wanted to makes sure she was getting a good quality door.  I left it at that.  I explained to them that these doors can take up to 3 weeks to get in so we needed to move fast on it.A few days later [redacted] called me expelling to me that his mom was upset with something about his dad. I took it as a health matter and told him I completely understand. he asked me to go and replace the trim work that needed to be replaced in the living room and master bedroom.I told him we would be there the next day. That next morning I picked up material and we proceeded to replace the trim work, and replace insulation in attic that had gotten wet due to the water leak.I dont understand why Mr [redacted] thinks we were trying  or used a less quality material. everything we replaced was of the same material. The door that I was suppose to replace was going to be the same type same looking door same material. it was going to meet TWIA standards and may have even been the same brand of door. This is an insurance repair job, not a remodel. Insurance does not pay to upgrade anything. I explained that to both Mr [redacted] and the [redacted]s before we signed a contract.  He then stated that maybe I could bill the insurance company for something but not do it to help out with something else or for upgrades, in which I do not do, nor will I. Mr [redacted] wanted me to give them options of what material they could use, besides paint colors and flooring options there were no real decisions to make. They did tell me that they may want to go back with tile in living room instead of carpet and if I could install tile to fit there budget. I did tell them I would be hard to do that but I would see what I could do and that it may cost them out of pocket for that upgrade.I was asked to bring them samples of tile that would fit there budget. I brought over 3 or 4 samples and Mrs [redacted] took one look and said NO they were ugly and she didn’t even need to look at them any closer. As far as making my own hours, yes I do make my own hours. I do not work solely for the [redacted]s, I have other jobs going on simultaneously and every job is equally important to me. I’d like to know what work is not up to par, there had been no complaints about anything we did the last time we talked.  There was a question about some trim that was left loose in the master bedroom and I explained to Mr [redacted] that since we still had to replace the door there was no sense in installing it because it may have to be cut just a little bit to fit right and or pulled back off to fit right. The amount received covers cost of labor, time, and material spent on job.Thank You [redacted]
