across the street. Our technician [redacted] was attempting to connect the neighbor at [redacted] where he went to the tap and for some reason disconnected this individuals home trying to get the drop working at [redacted]. Our tech ended up leaving the drop disconnected after leaving that day and this is when [redacted]’s frustrations started. [redacted] had to call [redacted] where he wasn’t able to speak with anyone in this Country that could help him which compounded the matter even worse. He then had a trouble call set up where [redacted] came out and showed him that his line had been disconnected and more than likely by someone trying to steal service It became obvious to Mr. [redacted] after he happened to speak to his neighbor who said OCC was out and tried to connect their service but couldn’t as the underground drop was bad Long story short our technician made the mistake of leaving this customer’s drop disconnected and will be issued a written warning for poor workmanship and follow through in which [redacted] is addressing [redacted] did not want any compensation other than just the technician reprimanded for making such a stupid mistake and asked that we only hire people who will represent the company well I apologized on behalf of OCC for this mistake happening and he was very grateful for the call back he received and the action that will be taken on our end. We offered to cut him a check in the amount of $110.00 for one month of cable service just for the inconvenience he had to endure and he said thank you very much. I will process the check through [redacted] and will have it mailed to him. This case can be closed as he just wanted to have someone hear his frustration. Let me know if you need any additional information. Sincerely, [redacted]

O.c communication destroyed my tv and they're doing whatever they can to get out of this situation without doing the right thing. They know clearly that They're technicians negligence is what caused damage to my tv. Again your company is responsible for the damage done to my tv. The TV was not damaged during the move. Also for the record since this is publoc, you saying that I told your management who came to my house that I broke my own TV is false and considered slander and defamation of character. This again is a coverup be [redacted] and O.C. communications.

Review: Company was doing the cable install and damaged the hardwood floor. After the company left we found a hole which looked like a tool was dropped on it. A representative from the company came back and took pictures and talked to the employee. They responded saying that since I did not witness this happen personally they cannot be responsible for it.Installer Damaged hardwood floors company refuses to repairDesired Settlement: I want my floor damage repaired

Response:

The company did send someone out and addressed my concerns. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

OC Communications came to install Comcast Cable to my neighbor's house. The installer wanted to originally run the cable across our pool from the utility pole in our back yard to the neighbors house. When I refused, he ran it over our landscaping and our grass. I asked him if he could use the utility pole guide wire to run the cable to the neighbor's house and he said his job was to connect the cable, not run the wires properly. Do not use this installer for Comcast. They are rude and unprofessional.

Review: On March 7th I had contacted [redacted] to install cable at my house. I thought [redacted] would be doing the install, however o.c. communications came with a [redacted] logo and did the install. When he came to my house he damaged my brand new ** 50 inch led tv. At that point he notified his superior. At that point I made sure I had it on footage. Later on that day I filed a damage claim. Weeks go by and my damage claim was Denied! Again I have it all recorded. It shows your technician damaging my tv. When I find out that the damage claim was denied I called [redacted] Who then told me that my claim was denied because I damaged my own tv...? Really? All I want to know is who is the person I need to speak with and show this footage too. I am preparing to take this matter to small claims. Just want everyone to know how they operate at o.c. communications....Desired Settlement: That I get reimbursed for the value of the tv 500$, or that this TV is fixed. Also I will not pay a 50 installation fee for you breaking my TV but I'll take that up with customer service.

Customer filed a claim for damage done to his television during an installation at his home. O.C. Communications management met with the customer who informed us that the television was damaged when the customer moved it himself. O.C. Communications informed the customer that because the damage was not caused by our Technician that his damage claim would be denied, the customer acknowledged that he understood this. In the days following this meeting the customer reached out to the Company and claimed that he had video evidence of our Technician damaging his television. We asked to see this video evidence and the customer indicated that he would provide it to us. In our next contact with the customer he indicated that he had filed a small claims court complaint for the damage done to his television and that the video evidence he had would take several weeks to compile and that he would submit his video evidence to the court rather than show it to the Company. O.C. Communications denied this claim after our investigation and we see no reason to change our position.

Review: As a subcontractor for comcast, they installed cable service on 3/19/2013. Several months 10/10/2014 later I noticed significant water damage. This required mold abatement, new flooring and walls. The source was definitively tracked to a cable drilled in one side and out the other of a condensation line behind the wall. OC says the line was placed at the time of construction.this has been refuted by several uninvolved contractors and common sense. House built in 1992 and there was no wetness detected in 2003 when flooring completely replaced and tested for moisture. Also, during construction, would be easy to avoid without insulation and drywall present. I and my insurer have tried numerous times deal with them. Damages less my $2000 deductible already paid by State Farm insurance. Photos available for proof.Desired Settlement: I would like them to file for reimbursement from their liability insurance rather than continuing to ignore me and deny responsibility for damages.

Response:

Our investigation shows that the line in question is what we would consider a “prewired” line, a line that existed when we arrived. Based on pictures the owner took and forwarded over to us prior to them having the issue fixed, you can clearly see the line is wall fished (comes from above inside the wall cavity). Since we do not do wall fishes and all of our cabling is ran on the outside or under the home it would be impossible for us to have caused this damage based on how this outlet was installed. As stated the line comes from above and goes directly through the pvc pipe and then out through the wall. The pictures also show the end of the black cable has quite a bit of white spackle on it. This spackle is common when a Builder or Contractor wires a outlet during construction. These line are left “roughed out” of the wall and then when the wall is finished for painting the ends get covered with spackle. This is not consistent with a line that we would have installed since we do our work well after this spackling process. Lastly we spoke to our employee and he remembered the home. He stated that he did no drilling for outlets there. OC Communications does more than 2,000 jobs in California alone. We aspire to 100% resolution. This particular claim is outside the scope of reasonable in our estimation, since we are being held responsible for a job that was done years before we worked on the house. Our regional manager [redacted] attempted to resolve this several times. The photos demonstrate our position clearly.

Review: I had OC Communications out to my home on XX-XX-XXXX to install cable tv into my home. Initial Business Response

I received your notification of Ms. [redacted]'s complaint yesterday in the mail. We did a cable TV installation for Comcast at her residence.

Unfortunately, her TV did have a power surge that caused damage. The cable system typically has 40 volts of current and operates at a maximum of 92 volts. This alone cannot cause the damage that occurred, given that electrical outlets operate at 110 volts. This was most likely caused by an improper ground of the home's electrical system. Even at a maximum of 92 volts, there is not enough current in the coax cable to cause this damage.

As she states in her complaint, an electrician came that night and made some repairs. She later denied having the electrician at her house. We asked for a work order of the work done and she refused to provide it. She lives in a rural area in an older house that could need electrical upgrades.

The service provider, Comcast also had a technical supervisor look at this claim and he supported the findings of our company. O.C. Communications has over 700 technicians doing cable TV and obviously from time to time, we have damage claims arise. We remedy the ones where we are at fault, and even pay for some that are questionable. We have been in business since 1987 and I am not aware of any Revdex.com complaints.

After taking two opinions, one internally and then an additional one from Comcast, we find no foundation for a TV replacement.

Thank you!

Final Consumer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

There have never been any repairs done in my home I live in a home that was just remodeled so my home had all the repairs done BEFORE I moved in when home was being remodeled back in APRIL and MAY of this year.

Review: My cable service was disconnected by an O.C. Communications technician while trying to install [redacted] service to my neighbor. The said individual could not figure out how to install cable service to house number [redacted]. His fix was to disconnect my cable, house number [redacted]- which was clearly marked with a blue tag that says "57"from the ground tap and connect it to [redacted]. This rendered my cable service inoperative. When he couldn't figure out why he cannot get a cable signal to house [redacted], he simply left my cable connection disconnected and told my neighbor that they have to excavate and put a "new cable" under the street to give him cable service! It took me a total of 5 hours to have an appointment scheduled for the next day. my original appointment was not until three days after connectivity loss, Comcast's' reasoning is that they cannot elevate an internet issue to urge until I have reached three days of disruption.I discussed the issue with O.C. Communications' parent company- [redacted] but could not provide a customer service representative who was physically located in the United States. They refuse to connect to a Stateside customer service rep in order to elevate the issue about their contractors' incompetence.Desired Settlement: I am passing my experience with O.C. Communications and their parent company [redacted] to all who would like to listen to what I have to say. I am a victim of incompetence and buffonery which resulted in a loss of internet service and refusal of [redacted] to come in a timely manner and fix an issue caused by an inept and incapable contractor that they hire.
