OC Dog Adventures

Review: Our six-month-old puppy was seriously injured while we boarded him with an employee of OC Dog Adventures, and she lied about his injuries and their severity. While under her care, our very expensive, rare-breed dog was bitten by what she described as a loose, stray dog in her neighborhood. According to the veterinary records I acquired afterward, his nasal cavity had been punctured causing him to choke on his own blood due to postnasal bleeding. When the incident first occurred, our boarder with OC Dog Adventures told us that he only had a superficial scratch that didnt truly require a vet visit, but she took him there anyway as a precautionary measure. She also asked us to reimburse half of the vet bill that she paid. We agreed, initially, but when we contacted the vet and realized the extent of his injuries, we also discovered that she had never paid the bill and that the balance was still outstanding at the veterinary office. She accepted our payment of half the bill under the pretense that she had already paid it, but she never did, meaning she defrauded us of that money. When asked if she had contacted animal control to capture the loose dog, she replied that she hadnt, indicating to us that either she doesnt care if it happens again, or that there was no loose dog. Prior to all of this, I had employed the same individual to visit my house and walk and feed my puppy on a daily basis while I was at work. I began to suspect that she was not showing up at all on certain days and that she was not feeding him the amounts that I had clearly specified. I emplaced certain measures in the house to confirm my suspicions and discovered that she was accepting payments to walk him and failing to show up for some of the days I paid her. When I would ask her if she had come, she would lie and say that she had. She also admitted that she was not measuring out the portions of his food that I had specifically instructed, but just grabbing a handful of it and feeding it to him. She also never allowed him to drink water when she came to walk him, which I also instructed her to do. OC Dog Adventures accepted money from us and failed to provide the services agreed upon, and also demonstrated gross neglect and dishonesty in their dealings with me.Desired Settlement: We have requested a refund of $635.00, but OC Dog Adventures refuses to talk to us. At this point we feel entitled to the full amount of $1700.00 that we have paid.
