Client called to inquire about a deluxe gait belt and
I (*** ***) told her that we have them in stockShe and one other man came
in to see what we haveWe showed them the ones we had in stock and she
liked this particular brand by *** ***Unfortunately, I do not
have
them in the Medium size she wantedShe asked if we could order for her and I
told her that we have not ordered those in a while and that it would easier and
faster to order it onlineThis item she wants is not a popular one compare
to other brands we carry. She left to go try some other medical supply
stores

Client came back to look and try other different
brands of gait belts we had available. After trying the one she purchased,
on the same man she came with the day before, she decided that would work and
bought itShe knew it was not a medium size because we did not have any medium
size gait belts availableWe didn't have them when she came the day before
(Tues 6/2/2015) nor on this day (Wed 6/3/2015)The gait belt she bought,
clearly shows the label and size XXXLShe could have not missed that
given that she wanted a medium size but bought the one she
has because after trying on the man she brought it should have been okay
for her mother. We made it clear that there would be no return or refund
on this itemShe stated she was going to use that temporarily and order the
one she actually wanted onlineShe even took a picture of the belt she wanted
to go order online so she can have the correct maker and modelShe paid and
left

Client called wanting to return the gait beltWe told
her, unfortunately we cannot return nor exchange it for her as I already made
it clear to her before she paid for the itemShe was never told to come back
for an exchange for a correct size because we didn't have a medium size
availableShe stated to the sales person that there was another belt like the
one she bought and that we might have given her the wrong oneThe sales person
put her on hold and went to check if that was the correct information, she
found out they were the same size XXXLThere was nothing in a medium sizeI
also reminded her that we are not ordering the one she actually wantedPer our
discussion, she was going to order it online herself

Review: My mother is ill and I have been searching for a transfer gait belt to assist my dad in ambulating her since she needs moderate to maximum assist. I went to OC Medical on two different occasions. Today I was there to buy a gait belt. needed a medium. The gait belt I wanted was by ScanMedical Safety Sure belt in medium but they only had small and large. They showed me another belt and stated it would work. They did not have it in a package and had to look up price. [redacted], RN was the cashier and took up another belt to get price. I paid total of $37.75. Got to my mother's house and put belt on her and she slipped out of belt during transfer and hit her back. She is recovering from a compression fracture. I was upset and looked at belt and they had bagged me a XXXL belt. I immediately called and spoke with a salesperson that said I can come back and get correct size belt. I stated we are flying out shortly back home and would be sending my father there with belt and receipt. She put me on hold and when she came back on the phone she stated "all sales are final". I told her that this was unacceptable since they gave me wrong belt. I stated I will be contacting their corporate office and Revdex.com. I stated the least they could do was order the actual belt I wanted and apply the $37.75 to the $85.95 cost and ship to my parents. She stated well could not take back belt because client already used it. I responded by stating, NO client slipped out of wrong size gait belt I was sold and hit her back---this is a liability against them. My receipts shows that [redacted] was my cashier (which they are denying) now and she is a Registered Nurse and should have known better and not given me wrong belt. They later stated when I again called they never had a size medium belt. This is absolutely NOT true, we were trying on the medium belt when they took up another belt to get price. Very poor customer service that resulted in an injury. I will be contacting their corporate office as well.Desired Settlement: If they can order the medium belt that I originally wanted (and I have the model number). I will pay the difference but my credit should be used. They can have their XXXL gait belt that they wrongful gave me back if they pay for the shipping. I would also want them to ship the correct gait belt to my mother and father's home. There error resulted in an inexcusable injury to my mother. They are in medical supply company to be helping people.
