April 28, 2014Dear *** ***,As I explained on the phone and in my previous letter, the Friday Fun Special that we run on Friday nights, explicitly states that you must be there by PM, in order to partake of this specialIt is on a 3'X5' poster hanging by the bowlers area, on the counter where the customers stand (I sent you a copy of this in the last letter), as well as being on our website, blueballianes.comOne of his friends even pointed out to him, the poster on the counter, with the highlighted portion showing that you must be there by PM in order to take advantage of the specialWe have been running this special since September and have had no problems from anyone else who came after the allowed time.We have many hourly specials during the week and on the weekends and all have requirements of when they must be there by and all are posted around the bowling center, as well as on our website.This person called and made a reservation for 8:PM, so of course I would not offer the specialIf someone calls for a reservation before PM, then I offer the specialI would be cheating the customer if I charged them for the hour special and they only get hours of bowlingWe close at PM, which is posted on our doors, as well as on our website.As I stated in my other letter, this man was very rude and demanding, making threats to me, which were witnessed by my daughter-in-law, snack bar person, as well as the whole league who was bowling right in front of the counterIn fact, several of our bowlers came up and asked if I needed their help with this person.If this man had not been so nasty and demanding, I would have given him the price of the special, but I don't like being threatened and told how I have to run my businessHe kept stressing that he owned his own business and that I didn't know how to run my businessI have been running this business, since November and have only had one other complaint, which was rectifiedI pride myself on running a very friendly, family oriented center, of which my customers come firstI am sorry that this man doesn't like our center or our rules, but as I stated previously, I won't tolerate this type of behavior, from anyone and he is never welcome in our center again.Sincerely,

April 9, Dear ***,This letter is in response to the complaint lodged against Blue Ball Lanes.On March 14,was working from 5:PM until 11:PMI am one of the owners and I work the front deskAt approximately 6:PM, I received a call asking to reserve a
lane at 8:PMWe do have a Friday night special, Friday Fun Night, which includes hours of bowling, shoes, a snack and a small drink for $It starts at 5:PM and ends at 8:pm, in order for the bowlers to get the hours of bowling in.At 8:PM and a man came to the desk and stated that he had reserved a lane for 8:PMHe had or other men with himI assigned them a lane and gave them their shoesAt 10:PM, this man came to the desk, pounding his hands on the desk and got in my face, yelling, "you have a problem!"He then demanded to talk with the manager, at which time I informed him that I was one of the ownersHe started yelling at me that the lady at the snack bar said he wasn't on the special and that he assumed that he wasI tried to explain that he made a reservation for 8:PM, which is after the time the special ends and that is why I did not ask him about itHe then started yelling that he is a business owner and would give his customers anything they wantedHe accused me of advertising and I pointed out to him the small poster he was standing by, as well as the 3'X5' poster hanging behind him, that is highlighted and states that you must be here by 8:PM to get the specialEven one of his friends pointed this out to himHe continued to be belligerent and made threats to me and I told him to leave the premisesHe and his friends did pay what they owed and then left.This was witnessed by my daughter-in-law, who was behind the desk with me, my snackbar lady and all my league bowlers in the *** League , as well as all of the other open bowlersIf this man had not been so belligerent, I would have given him the price for the special, but when a person starts yelling at me, accusing me of doing, then making threats, I will not bend to his will.I told him he was not welcome at my center anymore and I will not give this man a refund.I hope this clears things up for youI have high regards for my bowlers and try to make things right when there is a problem, but this man was clearly out of lineJust because he is a business owner doesn't give him the right to try and push people around.Sincerely,

Review: On March 14 Myself along with 4 friends made reservation for lane and went to blue ball lanes. Our reservations were for 8:30 P.M and we arrived at approx 8:20-8:25. We saw on there website advertised Friday fun night on fridays from 8-11 for $13.00 including 3 hours of bowling shoe rentals snack and small drink. We arrived at the bowling ally and were given our shoes to begin bowling. We began bowling and I decided I wanted to go get my free drink. I went to the food stand and asked for my drink. The lady at the counter asked me for my ticket for the drinks witch I said I didnt have. I told her I was under the impression that we get a free drink and snack she then called over the owner of the bowling alley and she very rudly said the you had to be there at 8:00 to get friday night special. I the with out making a scene decided to pay for a large drink. At the end of the night I went to pay for my bowling I talked with the owner and told her that I have a problem because we were under the impression that we would get the special when we came tonight. She then again said that we had to be there at 8:00 for the specail. I then showed here the advertisement that she has on the website and said that it doesnt not specify that you had to be there by 8:00 p.m for the special. The owner then told me that it does say it on the website and I again told her I looked all over the website and found nothing.And I again pointed out that it doesnt say it on the advertisement on the website. Then owner then said that we had to say to say that we wanted the specail when we called in a couple hours earlier to make that reservations and again we told her that no one ever asked us if we want the special and we were under the impression that if we made a reservations that we would get the special. The owner the whole time was treating us rudely and yelling at us and insulting us. I remained calm and tried to reason with the owner but she continued to treat us rudly and yell at us. After trying to reason with her iDesired Settlement: decided to pay and take care of the matters in another manner. I was charged 14.35 plus the cost of my large drink . I would like $1.35 refunded to my card for as well as the cost of my drink and the cost of snack aprox total of 5.00 for snack and drink. I also would like a letter of apology sent along with a public apology in a local newspaper.
