Occassions with Black Box Events

We paid our deposit for Black Box Events to decorate for our wedding which is scheduled for 9/5/2020 during our initial meeting with *** on June 8 2019. A copy of the contract was not provide to us at that time as we were told it would be sent to us. We discussed what we wanted and was told we would need to come back for a second meeting to look over her items so that we could pick out what we wanted to rent. That meeting was scheduled for Sept, however when we came to that meeting, *** had forgotten what we had discussed during our first meeting so the second meeting was basically a 'redo' of the first one and again no items were shown to us or picked out to utilize and a copy of the contract was still not provided to us at the time. A location meeting was scheduled for Oct to look over the venue, *** was a couple of minutes late to this meeting and again no items were shown to us so that we could determine what we wanted to use/rent and no copy of the contract was provide to us. We continued to email, call and *** message Black Box Events & *** requesting the contract but either got no response or was told they would send via mail. In Dec we requested a refund of our deposit along with the signed contract to be provided by Dec 15, 2019. *** responded a couple of days later stating a refund would be provided as they had another couple book our date. It is now Jan 3, 2020 and we have yet to receive any refund or contract from Black Box Events/Kathy and she just *** messaged saying they have a verbal booking for our date by the other couple but no deposit, so we will not be getting a refund until the other couple pays. This was not was initially told to us back in Dec and we would like our refund along with a copy of our signed contract as soon as possible so that we can secure another vendor due to lack of communication and reliability of this company and lack of confidence we have in this company to provide services for our big day.
