Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
They were entirely unsympatheticA $ dollar discount on a $dollar medication is not exactly helpfulNot when they gave the medication to an imposter! They DO NOT verify the address- all we had to do is sign our name, pay $and goIf they asked for the address, the imposter would probably not have been able to walk with the medicineMy stance is that despite the fact that I have been going to this pharmacy for years, their negligence of enforcing their own policy of asking for identification and verification of address allowed an imposter to walk away with my medication. The scary thing is what is the imposter doing with the meds? And why doesn't the pharmacy care?? I did nothing wrong- dropped my script off like I have once a month for yearsThey made the mistake, they gave it away & as a result I do not have the meds necessary for my pain management! The fact that someone knew to pick up the medication implies that someone within the pharmacy gave away that information; I am not in the habit of discussing the status of my meds with anyoneOnly I and my wife knew where and when the prescription was to be filled and, as can be seen on video, neither of us picked it upI am worried, not only about myself, but about the people who are using and abusing a medication meant to ease my chronic pain

My response to ID ***:
'We are truly sorry for the problem that was caused to this customer. Due to the nature of the medication, our response was as far as we could go to try to alleviate this situation. We have made some internal changes to our own protocols to help against any future incidences. Again, we can only extend our apologies to the customer.'

We are sad to see this issue reach this levelAs a pharmacy, we followed the regulations that all independents and/or big chains do when a customer comes in to pick up a prescriptionWe probably do a little more and do an
address verification with each customerWe always made a good faith effort but due to this incident, we added a company policy to ID all patients picking up any controlled prescriptions
We tried to be as helpful as we could to this customer but due to the nature of the medication, our hands were a little tiedThe customer was right about the problem with narcotic medications on Staten Island which is why we offered relief on the cost of the prescription and not a total discountThere's no way for us to be 100% sure that someone wasn't trying to obtain extra medicationIn this day and age, we really can't trust anyone
We thought $discount was a nice offeringWe were sorry about the whole situation and tried to be as sympathetic as possible

Review: My script for a narcotic drug, morphine, was dropped at the pharmacy. I have been dropping it here for 2 years. When I went to pick it up, I was informed that it was already picked up. Upon hearing this, I called 911 to file a police report. When the officers responded, I was told there was nothing to be done by them, my issue was with the pharmacy. The officers also questioned the pharmacy staff as to whether they I.D. ( which is the law when it comes to narcotics) The reply was no, while right on the wall is a poster that says "We I.D., it's the law! They showed me the videotape of a complete stranger walking to the counter, saying his name was [redacted] (my name), he signed just ** and they gave him MY script! I am now not able to fill the script for another 3 weeks. This medication enables me to get out of bed & function at work and they just didn't care. I was told I would have to pay out of pocket-700 dollars! No one was sorry- they made a huge mistake- no one cared. They have customers sign their names when they pick up- my wife signs her full name every month for 2 years, then this thief comes in , signs just initials & it's okay! They were not the least bit upset or sorry, they offered to give me a $100 discount, which meant I ONLY had to pay $600!! It was complete negligence on their part and they are taking no responsibility!!Desired Settlement: I feel they should have given me a replacement script free of charge. It was an error on the pharmacy's part and they should make it right. I do not have that kind of money to pay for the medication. I also think they need to start I.D.ing anyone who picks up a narcotic drug- it's the law! Besides the fact that I don't have my medication, who is this man selling it to?? They wonder why the drug problem on Staten Island is so bad- NOBODY DOES ANYTHING TO PREVENT IT!

We tried to be as helpful as we could to this customer but due to the nature of the medication, our hands were a little tied. We thought $100 discount was a nice offering. We were sorry about the whole situation and tried to be as sympathetic as possible

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

They were entirely unsympathetic. A $ 100 dollar discount on a $800 dollar medication is not exactly helpful. Not when they gave the medication to an imposter! They DO NOT verify the address- all we had to do is sign our name, pay $5 and go. If they asked for the address, the imposter would probably not have been able to walk with the medicine. My stance is that despite the fact that I have been going to this pharmacy for 2 years, their negligence of enforcing their own policy of asking for identification and verification of address allowed an imposter to walk away with my medication. The scary thing is what is the imposter doing with the meds? And why doesn't the pharmacy care?? I did nothing wrong- dropped my script off like I have once a month for 2 years.
