Review: We hired Small Electric to install two bath room exhaust fans. Ocean County Electric showed up instead of Small Electric. After approximately 20 minutes the gentlemen were trying to leave our house. The homeowner, Mr. [redacted], asked to see where the fans were vented and was told that the fans were vented out of the side of the house. When Mr. [redacted] asked to inspect the work, he was treated with a nasty attitute. After inspecting the work, he realized that the fans were not installed to the fire code and refused to pay for the services until the fans were vented properly. The Electricians left for several hours and returned with flexible foil duct and they vented the fans to the attic vent. However, the bathroom fans are still not vented properly. In addition they did not leave us any warrentee information on the fans and left hoses in my walls where they wired. They did not adjust the insulation around the fans leaving a fire hazzard and the flexible Foil duct work is nailed to vent towards the attic vent but not accutually venting out of the attic. I have taken pictures of the all damage and installtion of the fams. We have contacted another electrician to come in and give us a opinion of the installation and will be filing a small claims complaint to recoup the Three hundred and seventy two dollars that was paid for the unsatisfactory service. Mr[redacted] treated my partner, Mr. [redacted], disrespectfully by lying to him and having a attitute when questioned and the job that was done. He also told Mr. [redacted] that he was not required to install the fans to building code. In addition, I believe the fans that were installed are the cheapiest fans he could have possibily used. We are very dissatisifed with the service and treatment of Oean County Electic.Desired Settlement: I want the fee for the new electrician paid for by Ocean County Electric. Based on the treatment of Mr. [redacted], I do not want this company in my home again. To disrepect the homeowner because he wants to inspect the services the company is performing is complete unprofessional. I will be filing a complaint with the Ocean County Small Claims Court as well if this situation can not be rectified. I have left several messages for Small Electric and Ocean County Electric with no response.

I have been in the electrical business for many years & I pride myself in doing excellent work so this complaint was a total shock to me. I installed 2 bathroom exhaust fans & after installing them, the home owner told me that he wanted them to be vented. I informed Mr [redacted] that I don't do venting only installation but in order to keep him happy I told him that I would vent the fans. Since I did not have any venting materials in my truck I had to go out & purchase them. I returned to the home & vented the fans as requested by the home owner. When I completed the job the home owner told me that he was very happy with the job & even asked me for my business card so that he could give it to a friend of his. Not once was I or my men disrespectful to Mr [redacted]. I first learned that they were unhappy when they filed the complaint & I was sent an e-mail from them informing me that they were going to get another electrician to inspect the job. I called [redacted] & told her that it was not necessary for another electrician to inspect the job since the Electrical inspector would be inspecting my work.
