Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Again,  I was misled on the purchase price of the automobile. I was told that the sale price would be $24,000 and I would receive $1,500 for my trade in. When I noticed that I only received $500 for the trade I went back to the dealership because I thought there was a mistake made and I was hoping [redacted] would clear it up for me. He reported that in reality I paid $25,000 for the car. He used $1,000 of the trade in to make it appear I was paying $24,000 for the automobile. He told me he saved me in taxes doing it that way. That sale price was not what I agreed on. I believe I was purposely misled. If I would have known I paid $25,000 for the automobile, I would have left the dealership and gone somewhere else.
Regarding the mileage on the car. I signed many documents that day, and don't remember signing the REG 262. Evidently I did, but the finance person did not go over that document with me. He appeared to be new and was to busy keeping the documents in order. I am pleased to hear that my warranty begins at 1,357. The response to this complaint has been resolved.
Overall, I feel I was taken advantage of by this dealership. I have purchased four new cars over my lifetime, two of which have been Hondas, and never felt I was taken advantage of. I am a senior citizen and I believe this dealership could have done more to make sure I knew what I was signing. I realized that I was to trusting and should have gone over every document before I sign them. I take full responsibility for that. However, in good faith, I believe Honda Corporate should go over their business practices with this dealership, so this will not happen to another senior citizen.

Review: Ocean Honda replace a defective steering wheel air bag in my 2005 Honda Element at no charge due to a recall. After I picked the car up the next day and drove home, I noticed the glove box was locked shut and I could not open it with the key. In the ten years I have owned the car, I have never locked the glove box. I called Ocean Honda and was asked to bring the car back to the service department and they would fix it while I waited. When I returned to Ocean Honda, [redacted], the service manager, told they had worked on the other side of the car and it was not their fault.

Prior to dropping my car off overnight at Ocean Honda to have the air bag replaced, I had emptied the contents of my glove box. There was no issue with the glove box opening or closing. In addition, when I dropped my car off, the odometer registered 92,749 miles. When I picked the car up, it had 92, 753 miles.Desired Settlement: Since Ocean Honda has denied responsibility for damaging my glove box, I would like them to accept responsibility for damaging my glove box and repair it. I would also like them to explain why my car gained 4 miles overnight while it was supposed to be parked.

Review: I received a very straightforward email ad from Ocean Honda based on the fact that I had had service done on my car there before. The ad clearly stated "Receive 125% of the Auto Trader offer on your trade-in-even if you don't buy a replacement vehicle from us!" With no small print, and no other terms.I went on the Autotrader site, followed the instructions there, included the fact that there had previously been a replaced bumper because of insurance claim, and got my quote for $14,946. I printed the quote and the ad out and went to the dealership to have them inspect the vehicle.Ocean found exactly what I said to be true (in fact it was in better condition than I had put in autotrader because I put the miles 800 miles higher in the app than the actual miles on the vehicle). They then refused to honor the advertisement and only offered $15,500 for the vehicle instead of the 125% of the offer ($18,682). When I pressed the issue, the used car manager tried to argue that the offer is only based on them confirming the value from autotrader, and that the fact that the bumper was replaced affected the value.I asked him to detail what that lowered the value by and he pulled $1000 out of the air. He claimed that he would have to sell the car for $1000 less because of the replaced bumper (yeah... right...) . Even if this were true (highly suspect), I had included that information in the autotrader estimate, so it shouldn't be less than the estimate it gave me (plus 125% offer). Even if you take all that into account, that still should mean this would only be $1000 less than the $18,682 offer, so where does the other $2000 go for this only being $15,500??? It goes into the famous world of bait and switch... The ad was a straightforward lie in order to get people into the dealership, where they can be pressured into buying a new car.Desired Settlement: Honor the original offer of $18,682 as advertised.

Review: I have two complaints. #1. I went to dealer in question with a specific price I was willing to pay for a 2014 Honda CRV-X. I brought a internet printout that showed that buyers were paying $24,250 for the car. I showed the dealer the number. He went somewhere and then came back and said that he will sell me the car for $24,000. I agreed. It turns out that he used part of my trade in to bring the price down to $24,000. In reality, I paid $25,000 for the car. I took the contract back to him for explanation and he told me I did not pay $24,000 I paid $25,000. He said he saved me on taxes by showing a sale price of $24,000. That was not the deal I verbally made with him.

#2. When I test drove the car, it showed that the car had 1 mile on the odometer. But I was looking at the trip mileage. I discovered later you had to switch screens to get to the odometer. When I glanced at the contract it said 10350, which I still thought it was 1 mile. Turns out it was 1,0350 miles. I bought a new car with over 1,000 miles on it. Again, this was not brought up to me at the time of the sale.Desired Settlement: I want a refund of $1,000 and I want some sort of adjustment concerning all of the mileage that was on the car. I have a 3 year, 36,000 mile warranty but 1,000 miles of that are not mine. I should at the very least get an extended warranty or some compensation for the extra mileage.

Review: When I took a brief test drive of the car prior to leasing it I never sat back in the seat because I was nervously hanging onto the steering wheel due to the tight automatic brakes that I wasn't used to.

After having the car just one day I took it back to the dealership, when after just driving it to and from work for one day, I realized that my body didn't not fit with the seat design and the headrest was crushing/compressing my head into my spine and forcing my chin into my neck. I was already in great pain and I am still suffering from the unnatural compression and discomfort this car caused me. My drive to work is 44 miles per day.

The General Manager, [redacted], refused to allow me to return the car and said it was now between me and the bank (Honda Financial). I work in finance and knew this was a lie, so I called Honda Financial who confirmed that the loan had NOT been funded and the paperwork was still waiting to be worked on. I told them to stop the funding but was not given a confirmation of that. The lease agreement says that you can terminate the lease early but will be subject to a large penalty.

I dropped the car and the keys off at the lot and walked away after 2 more days of the same-me returning every night while they played with the seats, headrest, and steering wheel. Their final solution, the exact words from their General Manager [redacted], was "You can take the headrests off or turn them backwards" or find another car, but you can't return the car. All of their other vehicles have the same headrest design.

The next day they had the car towed to my neighborhood and dumped it on a public street ! Their only concern is keeping the commission and NOT for Safety or Customer Satisfaction or even INJURY caused by their product.Desired Settlement: I put ZERO money down on the car. I basically test-drove it for one day and tried to return it. I want them to take the car back and sell it to someone else.
