I took my boat, Bayliner cuddy, to get worked on, as it was making a loud knocking noiseAfter weeks of saying they haven't had a chance to look at it, I told them to bring it around front and I would take it elsewhereI was nice about itInstead of doing what I asked, they pulled it into their shopWhen I showed up, I was surprised to see that they started to work on the boatWhen I arrived they told me the starter needed to be replaced and they had yet done a compression test, but told me that I needed a new engine regardlessI'm guessing they thought I was dumbOcean marine said they could get me a new engine, installed, for I leave to get my checkbook, (the engine I had was over years old, I figured for I was getting a deal, even if the engine wasnt bad off) I then came back mins later, checkbook in hand, and they had some sad story about how that engine was just sold before they could get it, and now the new one they could get, including new exhaust manifold, was going to be 6500.00....I told them not to touch it anymore and to immediately bring my boat to the frontI started to pay what little I thought I owed them, and see a bill for 1200.00....all they did was put a starter on the boat and the boat was in their shop for less than or maybe a solid hourThey charged me for a starter fuse, cost of starter, labor etc...I even told them I wanted to keep the old starterAfter giving them a hard time, I just paid them so I could leave that nightmare behind meI took it to my shop, took the engine apart and found out it was a worn out rodI also tested the old starter, it worked just fine, and I still had the old starter fuse that they supposedly charged me for putting a new one onI rebuilt the whole engine and new exhaust manifold, new wiring etcfor 2200.00, including additional laborThey lied, cheated and *** me over worse than I ever imagined a business would do to an individualThey may sell good boats but their shop/mechanics/managers are worthless crooks and can barely change the oil in a boatJust to know how bad I feel that I was being treated, this all happened just under two years ago, and finally I got tired of being angry and not doing anything, and now finally trying to give them this bad review that they earned so wellnot to mention that my uncle and father have spent combined, over 500k easy in the past on purchasing new boats from themThey lost two high net worth customers all because they treated a poor person like myself, like a dumb price of trash...I tried to talk to, whom I guess was the owner, but he gave me the cold shoulder and acted like he didn't have time to talk to me, and this was while I was being nice and calm about what had happened
