Ocean Palms Beach Resort

Review: Stayed at the Ocean Palm Beach Resort and unfortunately spilled some coffee (from the coffee that was provided in the room) on the bed.

Checked out, all was good, and then I got a $200 charge on my Credit Card.

I called the hotel asking what the charge was for, and I was told that the linens had been damaged beyond repair and that they couldn't get the spill out. I asked to talk to the owner and called back around 6 times, but was given the runaround. I would like to state, a paying customer should not be responsible for something that should be considered (in the hotel business) as a cost of said business.

I called my bank, Chase, to have the charge disputed, and they gave me my money back within a couple of days. The owner of the hotel was unresponsive throughout the whole dispute ordeal, and refused to talk to me or to Chase to provide additional 'proof' of the validity of the charge.

Fast forward a few weeks: the hotel owner sent the charge to TCM Financial, a Debt Collector, under the name "Blue Family Trust" and the charge is now $247.63.

I tried calling TCM Financial and spoke with two girls, a supervisor ([redacted]) and a manager ([redacted]), all of which were rude and stated they were working for their client and there was nothing they could do.

I have been harassed for the past month, with phone calls, letters and even my brother got a phone call from them asking to pay my 'debt'.

Now, they are threatening to ding my credit (currently at a score of 850) and have stated they will 'commence further collection activity'.

Any help I can get on this matter is greatly appreciated.Desired Settlement: I would like the owner of the establishment to call off the debt collection agency for such an unfounded charge, and offer an apology for the time and energy this matter has created for me. Me and a couple of my family members are being harassed constantly on the phone and by mail. In addition, and as a repair for the harassment and the spent time and energy, I would like a full refund of my original stay.

Any and all help on this illicit matter is mostly appreciated.

Review: My mother in law booked a trip for us to San Diego to be part of our best friends wedding. 2 weeks ago my wife was diagnosed with health issues and was informed by her doctor that she was not allowed to travel for health concerns. We tried working with the hotel on options since the deposit amount was unclear trying to reserve be room as a gift to us. My wife had to deal with this while also dealing this her troubling health issues. They made promises to have the owner call which never happened and have been unwilling to work with us. It is very unfortunate that we have to deal with this while also planning out medical concerns and bills.Desired Settlement: Refund of $811.40 to card on file.
