Oceans Pointe #502

Review: My family rented condo #[redacted] at Oceans Pointe, [redacted] & the boards, Ocean City, MD from June 29 thru July 6 2013. We were given incomplete entry instructions, by email from the leasing agent, prior to check in. There were no keys in the lock box as indicated, and we could not enter the condo in a timely fashion. We could not check in until 4:00 p.m. (normal check in between 3:00 and 5:00) We had arrived around 1:30 - 2:00 and had been told we could check in "early" if the cleaning was done, which it was. We were panic struck and did not know what to do. The only number available to call on the weekend, as listed on the email, was maintenance. After numerous phone calls, enormous stress, and wasted vacation time, we finally were informed to go to a realtor on [redacted] St. to pick up keys. We had not been informed prior that we could get keys at this realtor. We had originally planned to enter the condo immediately and go grocery shopping to stock the refrigerator to save $$ on eating out (purpose of renting a condo with a fully operational kitchen). I also have a restrictive diet that limits certain foods and I need to eat 6 x's a day to keep blood sugar level. We could not go shopping for the food I needed until late Monday. I became ill due to this Sat. & Sun. (checked in Sat.) This was due to improperly functioning refrigerator. We called maintenance on Sat. as soon as we knew the frig was not working. We even asked for a temporary mini frig., which we never received. It appeared that management was talking to the maint. man to "stall" the situation until Monday to save on costs involved with calling in a repair service. We had numerous calls and maint. in our condo various times Sat., Sun. and Mond. Totally disrupting the beginning of our vacation.Lots of stress. Finally, by mid day Monday, repair men replaced a part on the frig. and we finally were able to shop for groceries. We paid $4,450.00 to rent a luxury condo. We were relying on frig to save $$ on food - cost us more.Desired Settlement: We have requested that Oceans Pointe compensate us in the amount of $600.00 for extra expense due to the need to purchase food at restaurants, paying a higher price than expected since we had planned on eating breakfast and lunch in the condo. This would include lunch on Sat., breakfast and lunch on Sun. and Mon. Six people were involved. This would come to $15.00 per person for the above-listed meals, including $30.00 for snacks I needed to keep cold due to my diet.

At this time, I have not been contacted by Oceans Pointe #502 LLC regarding complaint ID [redacted].

Please be advised that we have had NO response from Oceans Pointe

regarding this complaint to-date. I also wanted to be sure to correct

two typo's in our original complaint. The condo is located on [redacted]

Street and Boardwalk NOT [redacted] St. Also, the realtor where we finally

got our keys is on [redacted] St. NOT [redacted] St. Would you be able to correct

these two errors, as it otherwise does not correctly identify this condo

and the realtor. I am very sorry for these two errors. I tried to

correct them right after I submitted the complaint, but was unable to do

so.
