Had a brief but fantastic interaction with Oceanside Auto last night I had a flat tire on Rte in Haddam and apparently other garages rejected the call from AAA before they contacted Oceanside They accepted the job and were on site within minutes Well before their estimated arrival time Service was quick, professional and very courteous Had me back on my way in no time Would consider calling these guys directly next time and bypassing AAA altogether Well done Oceanside!

They accepted the job and were on site within minutes. Well before their estimated arrival time. Service was quick, professional and very courteous. Had me back on my way in no time. Review: I called AAA for a tow because of a tire blowout&it was towed to Oceanside Auto in Old Saybrook,Ct I was told on Friday that the tires were on but I had brake issues,brakes were fine before the tow,she said they'd look @ it Monday because they're closed Saturday I received a call on Saturday from the owner& he said I can pick up my truck then I asked about the brake problems& he said "they seem fine to me" when I got there& paid & got in to drive it my pedal was halfway to the floor I called my nephew& he said maybe they damaged it hooking it up so I returned& asked if the hook did the damage&they said they drove it on the flatbed& the lights were on&I told no they weren't& my pedal was where it should be they went out& looked& said my lines were bad but they let me leave that way! I could have had an accident what a horrible experience they shouldn't even have a repair licenseDesired Settlement: If they damaged my brake lines I think they should pay for the repairs

Good afternoon. My name is [redacted]. On the day in question I did take care of [redacted] had her vehicle towed to our shop on Friday afternoon for a blow out on her left rear tire. She came in person and spoke to our service adviser, [redacted] had [redacted] quote her two different options for a set of four tires, stating that she knew all 4 were bad and did not want to have a repeat blow out on any of the other tires. She asked for a different set of wheels be mounted on the vehicle with a non-OE size (compatible but not OE recommended) tire to be installed. [redacted] had the wheels brought to our shop but then decided to use the wheels on the vehicle currently. We placed the additional wheels in the back of the truck at that time. [redacted] checked for the proper size on the door jam of the vehicle, confirmed the size of the tire installed currently, then had one of our certified technicians replace the tires. No test drive was performed due to the left rear tire being blown out. While backing the truck out of the garage, our technician noted that the brake pedal was very low, the brake warning light was illuminated and mentioned we should contact the customer. We called [redacted] to inform her of this situation and noted it on her repair order stating the following "Brake light is illuminated and pedal is very soft. Recommend diagnostic time to determine cause. Vehicle not currently safe to drive." [redacted] discussed this with [redacted] and she stated she understood the vehicle could not be test driven due to the tire's condition. [redacted] and [redacted] came to the conclusion the truck should be inspected. [redacted] mentioned she had previous work done to the brake lines at another facility. [redacted] told her we would check it out Monday . Saturday morning we had a chance to check the truck out and did notice that it was low on fluid. I did call her and told her there was a leak in the brake line . [redacted] informed me that she had her own mechanic to repair it. There was still a brake pedal and would stop it was just lower then it should be. She picked up the truck and came right back very agitated and stated the brake pedal was to the floor. She was very abrasive and in multiple instances became very emotional, berated our staff members, and used insulting language. She stated she had talked with her nephew and he said that it could have been caused during the tow. We reinspected the truck to try and appease her and found a leak right near the fuel tank. I can understand her being upset but it was nothing we had caused and the way she was yelling at me it made it very hard to get a word in edge wise to even try to help her. She could have left the truck and we could have repaired it Monday, we could have towed her truck, we could have worked something out . She stated that she did not have the money to fix it and then told me she was filing a complaint with DMV. We have never had a complaint in 15 years and we strongly believe that customer service is our main goal. After the way [redacted] spoke to me, I was taken back by it but still would never leave anybody in the dark. If she still wants to do business with us I will gladly repair her brake line at cost. I do not feel that we were in the wrong in anyway but would gladly have her bring the truck in and repair the rotted line. The last thing I wanted on Saturday was to have words with anybody. I look forward to talking about this more if you would like. Thank you.
