First of all- this is the first notice I have seenAnd this is between Ochs rent a car not Ochs auto sales but this happened at a Ochs auto sales location and I was personally there and witnessed this situation, this man rented a car from a Farmington location it did not have a recal but it was taged in the system to not rent for a internal company reason - that was overridden and the car was rented then at a later time a air bag light came on and he called and was asked to return it for a different car ? and this man was told that in person in perryville by [redacted] and I was present as well as his wife funny how people only remember what makes them feel better -- bottom lineHe took a car left perryville drove approx a hundred miles then had a tire fail due to a large puncture to the tire when he returned he gave [redacted] Jr a receipt and wanted reimbursed we allwent out and looked at car and tire that had been replaced and immediately noticed a huge chunk out of rear wheel and cut in tire also? This man then stated he should have looked at car better [redacted] Jr told him that the car had been videos because we do that on every rental so this can be proven and he would send it to himI said we do that to make sure the correct person pays for the damage they cause? And [redacted] Jr asked the man where did u have this flat he said StLouis [redacted] Jr said how could a cut like this hold air a hundred miles then decide to start leaking !! I understand they had a bad trip but bottom line he or someone damaged two wheels and two tires while vehicle was in his controll- we have video of prior and after rental both damaged tires and both damaged wheels I feel sorry for this man but it is clear to anyone that looks at the facts This damage happened while under his controll and he is contractually liable!! This man was told damage happened while he has car he insisted it was on car when he picked it up and [redacted] Jr clearly told him if video showed damage prior then he would reimburse him but if not he would have to pay for damage -- now he is claiming he wants one wheel reimbursed ?? So he damaged a tire on front and back and got both wheels but one of the wheels should be reimbursed? We're not looking at rubs were looking at damage (chunks out of aluminum ) I can provide all video and pictures if needed? Thanks? [redacted] atOchs auto sales inc?

I just received your notice on Saturday, I immediately realized the information you were given is incorrect as I was alerted of this situation when it happened , but never the less I started a full investigation, my facility is taped so I was clearly able to dismiss my ***s comments of my son, I
am attaching statements from the tech, service writer , service adviser and my overview of what I saw when I reviewed the situation, also I made a call to the service writer *** at kellers on Monday and had a conversation with him regarding this as well,, we discussed what he saw and the fact that the car had almost miles since it was in my facility, *** said it looked like the cable had been tampered with but it never would have shifted or made it miles , I am including diagrams of the cable in question and the areas we were to service the oil change and they are not in direct common area as to where a mistake could have happened , the fact is if someone tampered with his cable it happened somewhere other than here it drove almost miles-- mr *** has a couple of attempts at josh the service adviser, when he did not get what he wanted he asked for a manager, my son *** jr got involved , and he tried to de escalate the situation but that was clear that was not mr ***s intent,mr *** was making threats, ansd accusations of how he would conduct him self if we did not give him his money back , *** jr told him we did not feel we were at fault, mr *** was asked to leave and refused to and at that point it got taken to another level-- mr *** left hanging out the window yelling the whole sad fact is that I truly believe from my conversation with *** at kellers that someone well may have vandalized his car, but it did not happen here and to think that some one would almost disconnect it but only good enough that it would drive miles before it completely detached is completely histerical--- if mr *** has any PROOF that any of my employees deliberetly disconnected his cable I would gladly fire them and make them pay restitution to him but that clearly is not the case just because we were the last ones known to him to have been under the hood does not constitute proof nor mean that it happened under our watch , remember it drove almost miles in this time frame: mr *** might wrongfully believe were at fault and by his actions when he entered my business it is apparent he feels that way but he is incorrectI will be faxing all supporting documents to your fax number

This is a totally incorrect account - this lady purchased this car - there were a couple of small non mechanical issues - rear seat not hooked in tightly from when it was cleaned-- washers not shooting correctly on windshield- these items were corrected for her as a courtesy -- about a week or so
later I recieve a message on my home answering machine that car would not start --I called her back and was willing to assist her - I was told she had it towed to her mechanic - I advised her if it came to me I might cover the cost -- but if she took it else where she was on her own -- a few days later I recieved a note she had called and said car was at her mechanic and she was told it should never have passed inspection and she had notified the state / state came and they tried to persuade him car had bad bal joint but we proved to him it was measured and within the state allowed tolerance -- had anything not been correct he would have issued a ticket and suspension but that never happenedSome shops think any movement in a ballpoint is bad but that is not true rack manufacturer has a tolerance specification that is allowed -- she did purchase the car--as is - from the dealership but did purchase a third parts warranty .this is administered thru the warranty company and we have no controll of approvals or administration -- the missouri state highway patrol evaluated her claims inspected the car and found no fault with the inspection
