O'Connell & Associates, Inc. Reviews (4)

Review: I entered into an agreement with O’connell and Associates in May 2013. I received a few vague calls giving me some information, but nothing detailed. [redacted] informed me 1) he was in court and would call me back, 2) out of town and would call me back with details, and 3) he wasn’t in the office at the moment but would call me back with details.

I have left repeated voice, text messages, emails requesting detailed information that was alluded to but not provide. Months passed, ano one contacted me. I then left a detailed message relaying the situation to his answering service. on 8/19/13, Mr. Oconnel sent a "report" that did not provide the details he had discovered and that he indicated he would provide. Either he lied on our phone conversation in which he informed me that he had an address to give me and that he had observed my spouse going to the emergency room (verified as accurage), or his report was completely falsified (didn't indicate anything that was indicated on the phone). After receiving the "report," I sent the following message to [redacted] and received no response:

"When we spoke on the phone multiple times, you told me that your investigator followed [redacted] and he was at the [redacted] Mall and then went to the Emergency Room. I verified these details and you were correct. You also told me that he was observed spending the night in [redacted] on at least 2 occasions. These are NOT noted in the “report” you sent. You also indicated that you would provide the address where he spent the night (other than his mother’s home in [redacted]). You have NOT provided this either.

Even if the “report” you sent were accurate, it is far from $1,500 worth of hours worked. I expect that you provide the above details or refund the $1,500. If I do not hear from you promptly, I will retain a lawyer and also report you to the Revdex.com or any agency that handles scam business dealings."

I resent the same message again on 10/1/13 and still no response. Texts and phone calls are ignored. This is a business whose website promotes that their "hallmarks of service are honesty and integrity" and that "You can call us anytime 24 hours for an update from one of our field investigators or case managers." Neither claim appears to be accurate.Desired Settlement: It is impossible to ascertain which version of [redacted]'s findings are true - either the phone calls or the report. Refund requested.

I was recently ripped off by this man too. Investigation services were imperative for the safety of my children. He received $3,000 from me, and I haven't received anything from him. I have court in a week and I have nothing- after 4 months in a contract with Mr. OConnell. Let's get an attorney together and end his fraud.

Review: The contracting company was hired to perform services on a particular date and during a specified time frame. Services were not rendered during the agreed timeframe. The company cashed the required deposit of $1500 and I never heard from the company since. The company failed to return numerous phone calls, voicemails, emails and text messages concerning the failure to provide services as agreed. After the company took my deposit I have not received ANY communication from the company for more than 3 months. This is completely unacceptable and poor business practice.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund for services not rendered on the agreed date and time, as previously discussed.

The same thing has happened to me however, I paid the $1,500 fee 2 times even after not receiving anything from the first transaction amount. The owner is rude with his responses and has stopped responding. After he received my 2nd $1,500, I did not hear from him for 3 months. I have asked several times for a detailed invoice to provide to me the hours worked as that just seems like protocol, but no response from the owner. He stated to me before that he could not provide me with any investigative information that he found but could provide it to my attorney even though I was one the that entered the agreement with him weeks before obtaining an attorney. The owner does not like to put anything in writing and would rather get you on the phone to wiggle his way out of his fraudulent services. I use the term "fraudulent" because he accepts money and provides nothing. I wish I would have read these reviews before entering the agreement with him.
