O'Connors Heating & Air Conditioning Reviews (1)

Review: In late December, I hired O'Connor Heating and Air Conditioning to clean my gas furnace. One month later (on January 28, 2016), the furnace -- which has run without issue through my six years in the home -- stopped working at approximately 8:00 p.m.. I called O'Connor twice for emergency service, left a message and received no return call that night or at any point at a later date.

So, by 10:00 p.m., I called another company to come in and fix what I assumed to be a pilot light problem. I was informed that the original cleaning done by the O'Connor technician was basic, at best and was shown that the pilot was not cleaned, the flame bars were not cleaned, and that the newly-replaced thermocoupler had been screwed into the gas valve crooked and was over-tightened. As a result, the gas valve had become stripped and was unable to accept a new thermocoupler.

As a result, a $79 cleaning ended up costing $599 (original cleaning included). I called O'Connor the next day (January 29, 2016) and spoke with a friendly receptionist who understood my concern and said the information would be passed along and that someone most likely would be in touch. No one called. So I called back on February 4, 2016 and was questioned how I could know what happened with the furnace if I admittedly was unfamiliar with workings of furnaces. She once again told me I would hear from the company owner, who has yet to contact me as of 8:30 a.m., Monday, February 8, 2016.

I was not looking for financial gain. I was looking for an explanation, which I still have not received -- other than an accusation that the emergency technician did it. I feel I was done an injustice and that the work completed by an O'Connor technician directly led to my otherwise perfectly well-functioning furnace needing $520 in emergency service and parts replacement.

I've heard absolutely nothing but good things of O'Conner Heating and Air Conditioning from friends and family who have used their services. I am extremely disappointed with what I perceive to be a mistake on their part, which they are failing to own up to. And, additionally, the downright rude and accusatory statements from the receptionist during my second phone conversation. As a result, I am simply looking for a refund of the original cleaning.Desired Settlement: I originally had no intention of seeking a billing adjustment for the original cleaning or reimbursement for the $520 in emergency service/parts from another specialist plus the original cleaning cost; however, after failing to hear back from O'Connor Heating and Cooling in a timely manner and failing to hear a valid explanation other than blaming the emergency technician (who I had to call after not hearing back from O'Connor regarding our emergency calls and voice message to them), I am simply seeking a refund of the amount paid for my original cleaning in December: $79.00. I feel this is more than fair, as I could be seeking a full refund of the cleaning and repair/parts given what the emergency company .

Mr [redacted]Let me start out by saying this whole situation is just ridiculous! On December 29, 2015 a O'Connor's service technician did a general service cleaning on your furnace. My technician said you stood with him the whole time watching and asking questions. You said yourself your furnace worked fine for 30 Days. That says to me that O'Connor's did the job you paid us to do. If there had been an issue you would have know prior to 30 Days. You also mentioned that you have only heard good things about O'Connor's from friends and family who have dealt with us then why Mr [redacted] did you immediately believe the technician [redacted] from "[redacted] Plumbing and Heating" when he told you that we were to blame?I was on emergency call duty the night you had an issue and sir I never received a call or a message from you. Needless to say if I had received a message for a no heat I would have called you back and came out to check out your problem. You wanted me to return your 2 calls that you placed to my office but sir I did not feel the need to defend my company or my technician just because another technician voiced his OPIONION against us.Mr [redacted] courtesy calls are made to my customers who have questions and concerns NOT accusations and blame!
