Ocwen Loan Servicing

In 2012 my house was damaged by hurricane sandy. Myself and my parents became displaced from our family home at *** Far Rockaway NY ***. We were awarded money through our Insurance company which was held at the Ocwen Escrow disbursement account. We tried fixing the money that was disbursed to us only to realize that we needed triple the money awarded to us to complete the project. There was a little over 12,000.00 left in the Escrow account. We finally was able to sell the house in 2019 and Mortgage was paid in full as to what the house was worth after several years of unuse and badly molded property (locked boarded up from 2012). I have since called Ocwen/*** Loss Draft department as recent as Mortgage I was told the remaining funds will be released to me and I should expect the check no later than March 26th and I should call back if I did not receive the founds. I just called to find out what happen to check and was informed that my insurance escrow check sent to satisfy mortgage payment(was paid in full according to closing in October 2019). Now, I feel like I was victimized repeatedly by Ocwen over the years by having to live outside of my home during hurricane Sandy and now I need the Insurance check to move on with my life and is being denied my check.

I have been calling Owen/*** and would get the run around being transferred from one department to the next for sometimes staying on the phone for 2 hours and repeating the issue over and over. I was told that it's the Loss Draft Department have to issue me the refund. Now I'm told to speak to the Mortgage department the money was sent to them.

The house was appraised at the money they received at the payoff. Why would they not refund me my Insurance money they kept since 2012.
