[redacted] [redacted] BBB Complaint ID: [redacted] Re: [redacted] Oda Ohana Chiropractic,... LLC 11/10/16 To whom it may concern, Mrs [redacted] was well informed before treatment on how much it would cost for her and her son’s initial visit. It was explained to Mrs. [redacted] before treatment that it is the said amount of $40 each, because some services rendered is not covered by her insurance. Her initial visit was about 30 minutes, and her teenage son’s initial visit was about 30 minutes as well. In her initial intake there is a form that states there are some services that may not be covered by her insurance, which is usual and customary procedure. My front office called her, she did not answer, and left her messages, and we have not heard back from her. Mahalo, Dr. Oda

*** *** ***Attention:Mrs*** ***, Mr*** *** came to my office in to seek help in order to get better A comprehensive exam and consultation on what treatments are available for his condition His condition made his quality of life very poor He chose the Laser procedure The price is based on diagnosis (what the problem is...) and to correct and make his condition better Mr*** received the laser procedure and now his problem was resolved, and the patient is completely satisfied with the outcomes of the laser procedure. A couple years went by and his son called (***)I called back and Mr*** *** picked up the phone and we spoke about his problem (condition) and it has NOT returned and is completely satisfied with the outcome of treatment I asked to speak to *** because he is the one that called The reality is that his father's problem/condition is resolved and has been that way a few years after treatment. *** *** *** ***Dear *** ***,First of all, Dr*** Oda after many months after my initial complaint was filed did not address the reasons of my complaint in his reply in May He did not indicate to my then 85-year-old father that the credit card charge would be $ Like a similar complaint filed with the Revdex.com, he unknowingly signed a contract My father thought the charge was only for that one particular visit Furthermore, he wasn't told that the remaining portion of his money would not be refunded to him if he didn't use all of the sessions that he was charged for in advance. When I talked to DrOda in 2015, he stated to me that he would refund the money for the unused visits I called his office several times after this, the latest on 5/16/ To this day, he has not returned any of my calls after I initally talked to him Dr*** Oda, show you have some integrity by doing the right thing and keep your word by refunding the money.I also filed this complaint because he hasn't proven to me that he was using a watt laser at the time of my father's treatment in DrOda in indicated to me he could provide proof that he was using a watt laser He said he would get back to me and provide documentation he was using this particular laser Well DrOda, I am still waiting My father wouldn't have gone to you if you were actually using the older watt laser If you weren't using a watt laser you committed fraud by misleading potential patients in your advertisements in the local newspaper.I did not find out about my father's situation until I started handling some of his financial affairs He didn't want to tell me how much he was charged because he was too embarrassed to admit how much he spent on his laser treatments.I don't know how this chiropractor can say my father was completely satisfied with the outcomes of the laser procedure If that was the case, he wouldn't have let me file a complaint on his behalf In his reply, DrOda also has the audacity to say don't hesitate to come back to him if he has any problems with the same condition If he really wants to help people, please treat your patients, especially your vulnerable, elderly patients with integrity, respect and fairness Perhaps then you wouldn't have numerous complaints against your business with the Revdex.com, Consumer Protection and ***.Sincerely,*** ***

I am attaching a copy of a letter I received from *** ***, confirming that my dispute of charges made by Oda Chiropractic LLC was honored and finalizedHad Oda Ohana Chiropractic LLC denied the refund, I have been advised that they would have committed insurance fraud by overcharging for services while also submitting a claim to the insurance company for payment. The November 10, email response from Dr*** Oda stating that Iwas told prior to treatment that the charge would be $per patient is patently falseHis receptionist, Trudy, confirmed on the phone at the time of booking that the co-pay would be $per patient and not a penny more. Moreover, I did not receive a single phone call from his office regarding my complaint; I did not answer a call nor did my phone show a Callrecord of any calls from his office. Thanks to *** ***, I did not have to pay for the $overchargeEvidently, their investigation revealed that my complaint was true and substantiatedI am taking the time to follwith the Revdex.com to go on record that this business should be monitored closely due to representations it makes before, during, and after patient visitsI cannot imagine the number of people who do not take the time to go on record and lodge formal complaints, but simply take their business elsewhere. My complaint has been resolved and this case is closed, but not because of any action on the part of Oda Ohana Chiropractic LLCBest wishes investigating future complaints concerning this businessI hope the Revdex.com can do something meaningful that will protect the people on Oahu from such unprofessional and unethical business practices

[redacted]Dear [redacted],First of all, Dr. [redacted] Oda after many months after my initial complaint was filed did not address the reasons of my complaint in his reply in May 2016.  He did not indicate to my then 85-year-old father that the credit card charge would be $3664.92.  Like a similar complaint filed with the Revdex.com, he unknowingly signed a contract.  My father thought the charge was only for that one particular visit.  Furthermore, he wasn't told that the remaining portion of his money would not be refunded to him if he didn't use all of the sessions that he was charged for in advance. When I talked to Dr. Oda in 2015, he stated to me that he would refund the money for the unused visits.  I called his office several times after this, the latest on 5/16/16.  To this day, he has not returned any of my calls after I initally talked to him.  Dr. [redacted] Oda, show you have some integrity by doing the right thing and keep your word by refunding the money.I also filed this complaint because he hasn't proven to me that he was using a 15 watt laser at the time of my father's treatment in 2013.  Dr. Oda in 2015 indicated to me he could provide proof that he was using a 15 watt laser.  He said he would get back to me and provide documentation he was using this particular laser.  Well Dr. Oda, I am still waiting.  My father wouldn't have gone to you if you were actually using the older 10 watt laser.  If you weren't using a 15 watt laser you committed fraud by misleading potential patients in your advertisements in the local newspaper.I did not find out about my father's situation until I started handling some of his financial affairs.  He didn't want to tell me how much he was charged because he was too embarrassed to admit how much he spent on his laser treatments.I don't know how this chiropractor can say my father was completely satisfied with the outcomes of the laser procedure.  If that was the case, he wouldn't have let me file a complaint on his behalf.  In his reply, Dr. Oda also has the audacity to say don't hesitate to come back to him if he has any problems with the same condition.  If he really wants to help people, please treat your patients, especially your vulnerable, elderly patients with integrity, respect and fairness.  Perhaps then you wouldn't have numerous complaints against your business with the Revdex.com, Consumer Protection and [redacted].Sincerely,[redacted]
