We are in receipt of the complaint response from our patient. We understand the patients concerns and have attempted to resolve this. There are times when patients do not understand what insurance, coverage or details of their plans. Due to the nature of our in-depth services we do ask our patients for their eye insurance and medical cards. We need all of this information each time a patient comes in due to potential changes in their insurances that they may or may not know about. As stated before we have offered to repair the glasses and the patient has not accepted this offer. The patient also stated about our collection company, they are in collections but nothing is being reported to any credit bureau. The collection company we have is not authorized to submit any of our patients to the credit agencies, they are just a collection company. If any additional information is needed or the patient would like to contact me directly to come to a better resolution we can see what we can do. If you look at our history with the BBB you will see this is not a normal occurance and if it were there would be more complaints about us. This rare incident should not mark us as a business that is not willing to work through issues with our patients. Thank you for your timeDavid T***Director, Business OperationsDry Eye AdvocateOffice ###-###-####

May 13, 2015Dear [redacted]:This patient did not advise our office when she made her appointment she had a vision plan; she only presented her medical insurance card. This is her responsibility to know if she has a vision plan. Her medical plan was billed and the exam cost was applied to her...

deductable. This is her responsibility, but can be revised to $115.00, which is a self-paying patient cost. She was advised by mail each month of her outstanding balance. This is documented in her patient file. Her eyeglasses can be repaired at no cost if she contacts our office and asks for our optician.Primary Eye Care did submit her insurance correctly, as she presented it to us. Her eyeglasses will be repaired for free. Dr. M[redacted] did receive a message about this to his knowledge or he would have responded immediately as he is doing now. The patient’s balance owed is $115.00. Please advise her of this, as will we. Thank you very much.Sincerely,David T.Director of operations

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:As I've stated before, I have NEVER had to let Primary Eye Care know in the past whatvision plan I had. I simply gave them my ID card. Why would this visit be any different?I have received only 2 letters about the outstanding balance. One dated August 21, 2014(which I have admitted to placing aside) and the other dated October 13, 2014 which I acted upon. If I had received any other notices I would have acted immediately since Ithought the issue was resolved. I pay my bills. I would not let my good credit rating beaffected for $176.00. They can say all they want these letters were sent every monthand that it is documented but I did not receive the letters.I did leave a message for Dr. M[redacted] to contact me. It is not my fault they did notgive him the message or if they did, he ignored it.This matter has been very upsetting to me. I would like it to be resolved.I feel very strongly I am not responsible for the outstanding balance.
Regards,
[redacted]
