Review: The employees and Manager at the Odd-Lot Outlet located on [redacted], PA with a 2nd location on [redacted], PA are the most unprofessional and rude people there can ever be in the retail, business world. They do not seem to care much for customer service and in so doing, also fail to give their company, a good image and reputation even as a small, local enterprise or "moms and pops" store. On Friday, July 05, 2013 at approximately 3:30pm, I went to the store located in [redacted], PA to return some of the firework I purchased on 07/02/2013 believing there would not be a problem with lighting them up at my community on the 4th. These were the type of fireworks sold indoors rather than at their separate hut. I purchased a few sparklers and a few boxes of ground fireworks. Unbeknown to me, the operations office at my private community decided that no fireworks of any sort would be allowed this year, so I could not light them all. I proceeded to return the ground boxes that I did not light up for a refund. The employees behind the front counter were very rude and did not want to hear my reason for returning the unlit fireworks and simply said that all fireworks sales were final. I looked for a sign on the area where the fireworks are located and there were no signs hung. Neither was I informed during the initial purchase that the sale was final. I asked to speak to the manager and initially the cashier denied me this courtesy. At my insistence, they called the lady manager ([redacted]), who was just as rude and did not care for what I had to say. She did not consider that my purchase was over a $100.00 to simply say no, that "all sales are final." She did not provide me with any customer service; not even a store credit which would be the most decent and customer service oriented approach to take as a manager. She did not even look at my receipt and turned her back on me. She then instructed 2 employees to watch me as if I was a criminal because I was still at the store with my family.Desired Settlement: This business practices are unfair as manager did not provide any alternatives to resolving my situation. I brought back the unlit, unused fireworks (sparklers) because they could still be resold. Furthermore, there were no signs at the firework tables indicating that fireworks sales were non-refundable. Neither did the cashier indicate the latter; however, he did ask me to provide my email for advertising purposes. Based on the aforementioned, I'm requesting a full refund of the intended items.

In response to the above mentioned, our return policy is posted regarding the fireworks behind the cash registers with our normal return policy.

Our store has been selling Pennsylvania “safe and sane” fireworks for over 20 years without this kind of a problem arising.

We are sorry that we have upset this customer with regards to our return policy on fireworks.

I am rejecting this response because: There is no sincere apology in the statement. The way the events transpired and how I was treated by the store manager was uncalled for. The manager and now, [redacted] are not even offering to remedy the situation. It talks to their level of integrity and how much they really care about customer service. I am escalating this matter to a higher level as they are a business entity dependent on consumer sales and support to stay in place.
