To whom it may concern: Revdex.com Case #[redacted] I take pictures
as a hobby and for the enjoyment of it. I work a full time job where I work a
rotating shift and on call 24/7. I don’t have a web page or a Facebook page.
Therefore I do limited request. Mrs. [redacted] got my card from [redacted]...

[redacted] I met with her to show her my work. Mrs. [redacted] hired me as her
photographer for her event. We met again to go over my contract. She read the
contract and made one change and that change was the date of the final payment.
[redacted] is a copy of my contract. I told Mrs. [redacted] I try to take pictures of
everything; her guest arriving, food, tables, her talking to her guest, etc. I
told her after I take her pictures I create a book and give it to her. There is
nowhere in my contract that I state that I would bring pictures to her for
viewing first. When creating a book I pick the best pictures to put in the
book. I am the only person to see imperfections such as; Pictures with eyes
closed, heads down, or too much exposure. I told her I try to put 100 plus
pictures in all books that I create; she was given 189 pictures. My contract
states if there is anyone of importance that she wants pictures of, she or her
coordinator needs to bring it to my attention. We never talk about making sure
that all of her guest had pictures taken. But as a photographer I try to take
pictures of as many guest as possible. In Mrs. [redacted] statement I was instructed
to provide record of guess attendance. Mrs. [redacted] had hostess taking attendance
and assigning tables, their pictures are on the front page of her book. I’m
only there to take pictures nothing else. After two weeks Mrs. [redacted] called and
asked about her pictures. I told her that her book was created and I was waiting
for it in the mail. She received her book within four weeks. She was not happy.
When the book arrived I took it to her. Mrs. [redacted] called a few days later and
stated that the front of the book had her initial wrong, and people that had
given her substantial amounts of money was not included in the book. Again if
there were people of importance Mrs. [redacted] or her coordinate was supposed to
let me know. Mrs. [redacted] had 100 guest or more. She told me she was missing
eight people. She asked to review all the pictures to see if I had the missing
guest. I agreed, trying to please her. She found all but one guest. We used the
first book to mark pages, and make corrections using sticky notes and
rearranging her book. I went home and started on her book. This was on Saturday
and on Monday I became sick and this caused a delay in her book. Mrs. [redacted]
knew I was sick because she called me for a picture. I went over her book four
times before putting it in production making sure all changes were done. I feel
I have done a lot for Mrs. [redacted]. Listed below is what I’ve done to provide
good customer service to Mrs. [redacted]: 1. Mrs. [redacted] wanted a picture to be
displayed at her party. I went to her home at NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE staying over
an hour taking pictures of her and enhancing the pictures that she wanted. This
is a $50.00 charge that I did not impose on her. I only charged for the
development of the pictures. 2. She wanted a picture for her thank you cards
and I sent her three pictures to choose from. At NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. 3. I
went to her house so she could review all pictures looking for pictures that
were not included in the book. She found all but one picture. The reason the
pictures were not included in the book was because heads were down, or too far
away but she still wanted them included in the book so I included them at her
request. 4. I created a second book for Mrs. [redacted] at NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. 5.
After going through the pictures, Mrs. [redacted] wanted another picture for her
Thank you cards and I sent it to her for NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. 6. The event
started at 6:30 and ended at 11:00 p.m. My contract stated a maximum coverage
time of 4 hours and I stayed 30 minutes over at NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE I feel
Mrs. [redacted] is trying to recover some of the money spent on her birthday party.
Let me provide you with the following information: At Mrs. [redacted] birthday party
the cake was never cut. The John Marshall Hotel called her on Monday to pick up
her leftover food and birthday cake. Mrs. [redacted] informed me that on Monday she
took pictures of the cake and called the bakery and complained that the cake
had fallen and she got back a partial payment for a cake that had fallen being
transported for a second time. A cake that was never cut on the date attended.
The page in the book where her initial was incorrect I informed her that I got
the information from her invitation. Her response was I will call and get some
money back for that also. I feel Mrs. [redacted] is pursuing this matter to recover
another partial payment. I tried to provide excellent customer service to
satisfy Mrs. [redacted] by letting her select the pictures and providing her with a
second book. Based on my contract with Mrs. [redacted] I provided services as
contracted. A copy of the contract is enclosed. At this point I satisfied my
obligation to Mrs. [redacted]. Since Mrs. [redacted] is unhappy with the recreation of
the new book of picture she pick out my resolution to this problem at this time
is to offer Mrs. [redacted] copies of the pictures in exchange for the return of the
book in perfect condition that I created that she is unhappy with. This option
is in my contract you can either receive a book or choose the CD of pictures.
If you choose the book you can purchase the CD for additional $50.00 dollars.
Mrs. [redacted] can bring the book in perfect condition to Revdex.com, I will bring the
copy of the pictures to Revdex.com of the memories of her 70th birthday party. Thank
you for your assistance in this matter.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]
Regards,
This correspondence ts in reference to case number [redacted]
which I understand is now closed. However, for the record I would like to state
that the issue with [redacted] is still unresolved. I do not accept her
offer to surrender the book of photographs of the event on 04/25/15 in exchange
of CDs of the event. At this point, I feel that Mrs. [redacted] can't be trusted to
provide me with fill_ of the photos of that evening in question. This
assumption is based on the half-truths she has stated in her response to my
complaints of her professionalism. I do, however, want to express my
appreciation to Mrs. [redacted] for admitting that she took it upon herself to create
a photo album featuring my milestone birthday celebration on 04/25/15 for the
sum of $400.00 without any input from me with regards to its proofing/editing.
My point as to, whether it was stated in a contract or not is of no subsequent.
Consequently, the assumption by me to be consulted for it was my book and paid
for in full. Doing the right thing is valid. A "Hobby," according to
Webster's dictionary, is an interest or activity engaged in for pleasure. In as
much as Mrs. [redacted] advertises her services with that of a business card, writes
and signs contracts and charges fees for such services, I say she is indeed in
a business to make money; Accordingly, as a customer my satisfaction should be
of utmost importance. When one tries to justify his/her mistakes with statement
that implies something different from the truth and which has no bearing on the
issues at hand suggests that their business ethics is indeed questionable. The
following are examples: Mrs. [redacted] took 15 or 20 pictures of me in my home 2
weeks prior to the event of 04/25/15. Together, we, on that same day, proofed
those 15 or 20 shots. I liked 5 of those shots taken and agreed to pay her set
fee of $10.00 each for the 5 shots I liked, totaling $50.00. There were no set
up fees involved. Now, if r proofed 15-20 photos in Mrs. [redacted] presence and
chose 5 out of those taken without a contract (At NO EXTRA CHARGE) What's the
difference in my being able to proof 200 or more for an album with a contract?
I randomly called 4 professional photographers in the city of Richmond, and all
said that the customer who's paying has the right to proof all works before
prints are made. All 119 of my guests are important. Prior to the day of the
event Mrs. [redacted] assured me that between herself and her daughter all guests
pictures would be taken upon entering/table sides and at random. My hostess had
the duty of checking off guest from the list which included individuals who had
RSVP and to direct family members and co- workers to reserve seating. I did not
ask Mrs. [redacted] to provide a record of my guest; however, if between the 2 of
them taking pictures as 1 had asked, everyone would have been accounted for at
the event. When I pointed out to Mrs. [redacted] that 16 of my guest pictures were
not included in the 1st book, I went over the CDs in her presence and found 15
out of the 16 guests. There was no justification or explanation as to why they
were omitted In that 1st book. MY BOOK,. MY PARTY. Neither the cutting nor
handling of my birthday cake and leftovers was of not Mrs. [redacted]'s business.
Because of the bad weather and on the advice of the head cater I did not cut my
cake and use the cupcakes which were plentiful as a backup. Monday, the
following business day was designated as the pick-up day for leftovers, cake
and decorations. Once I cut the cake on Wednesday, I discovered that the cake
was undercooked. Bakery was notified and I was offered a full refund because
she knew she'd had problems with her over during that time. I compromised and
she was happy with my suggestion. I will be using her services again in October
and wlll without hesitation refer her name. Yes, the middle initial of my name
on my birthday invitation was incorrect. No, I did not tell Mrs. [redacted] that I
wouJd be compensated for the error but t did say that I'll could be compensated".
Again, not her business. She's not willing to admit that she has made another
mistake which would had been caught had I had the chance to proof the
"creation" from the beginning. There were at least 4 or more
instances where my full name was signed in her documentation. Mrs. [redacted] made
mention of the fact that she provided me with a few pictures to use for th·e
design of thank you cards at no charge. What she did not share was that she
wanted to create the thank you cards herself and sent me samples of these by
way of e-mail. I did not like those samples and thus did not use her services
for this endeavor. I sort the services of another venue which eliminated
additional charges for her services. At this point, I was apprehensive about
ha\ling an input in that project as well. Mrs. [redacted] is entitled to whatever she
wants to feel. My pursuant of this matter is that of principles and ethics. She
has tried to paint me as that of a person who does not have values; daring to
state that I am trying to recover partial payments from the venues I've done
business with. Every business I've used when contacted with the exception of
hers has been professional, accommodating and willing to admit and take blame
for their error. The company who printed the invitation was not contacted
because I knew that most of the invited guest would throw those invites in the
trash if not before the event but surely afterwards. I was using common sense
in that respect. My book however, Is another story. Had she followed thru with
the changes in the second book as we both agreed on then we would not be going
through this. When she refused to let me copy the ID numbers of the different
pictures to be added and deleted, I knew then that she had no intentions of
doing the right thing. She put the icing on the cake when she handed me that
second book through the door and refused to come inside knowing that she had
done some but not all which had been discussed. Why should I be charged extra
for her mistakes in the lR book as she implied? Both Mrs. [redacted] and daughter ate
and drank at this event which was a buffet. The daughter was having a great
time dancing and mingling with my guest. My expense was $92.00 each per head
count for food and drink. They were not guests and did not get permission from
me to partake of the food and drink there. Even the band members (8) could not
go thru the buffet line as guest. They were fed but from a different menu which
l paid for. How gracious would I appear to be if I had asked Mrs. [redacted] and
daughter to not partake of the buffet? One could easily conclude that perhaps
they had forgotten their purpose of being there. NO CHARGE! The statement from
Mrs. Hiii which suggested that I am trying to recoup moneys which had already
been spent does not merit a response from me. Any elementary student r.an do
the math. Yo11 see, I don't need a part time hobby to help me wlth my quality
of life. I appreciate the efforts of Revdex.com In this matter. It's unfortunate that
this has happened end unresolved.

Review: [redacted] was hired to take photos at a milestone birthday event on 04/25/15. Was instructed to take pictures of all guest entering and/or seated at guest tables providing records of their attendance. She charged the sum of $400.00 for her services and 1 book which captured the event. When asked when would the pictures be ready for viewing, she informed me that she had already sent the book out to be processed and that it would be completed in about 2 weeks. She took it upon herself to make up the book before I had a chance to proof the pictures...my pictures...my choices. When the finished product was completed and delivered to me, I discovered that 16 guests pictures were not included and pictures that I did not want were included. Placement order of pictures was an issue as well. Week 4, we sat down together and located the missing guests from the cd of prints that she had wanted to sell me for an additional $50.00. We also recorded picture that should be added, deleted and relocated. Week 51/2, I called to get a status check and was told that it would not be ready until week 7. This was not acceptable and I asked that my book be delivered complete by weeks end. It was delivered on a Thursday and it was not completed according to our agreement. She had put my event on the back burner while she undertook other events. She has not be available since that time to resolve this matter.Desired Settlement: Those other milestone moments which were captured in pictures have been denied to me by this photographer's lack of customer service skills and work ethics. Because those moments are priceless, the desired resolution will be 1/2 of the job total ($400.00) which would be $200.00.

me to partake of the food and drink there. Even the band members (8) could not
go thru the buffet line as guest. They were fed but from a different menu which
l paid for. How gracious would I appear to be if I had asked Mrs. [redacted] and
daughter to not partake of the buffet? One could easily conclude that perhaps
they had forgotten their purpose of being there. NO CHARGE! The statement from
Mrs. Hiii which suggested that I am trying to recoup moneys which had already
been spent does not merit a response from me. Any elementary student r.an do
the math. Yo11 see, I don't need a part time hobby to help me wlth my quality
of life. I appreciate the efforts of Revdex.com In this matter. It's unfortunate that
this has happened end unresolved.
