requested was refused by the builder due to the fact that it would be built over an inground fire pit which was a potential fire hazard. The customer had an existing aluminum patio cover which he wanted removed and replaced with a pergola. He also wanted a poly carbonate cover as shield from rain and for the minimal shade it offers. The customer also wanted a structure that was much taller than the builder recommended to give it an open feel. He was informed that the added height would give even less shade. The builder suggested a simple square structure that would end just past the patio and leave the fire pit completely exposed. The customer refused that design and instead wanted a square structure with an outlying attachment on each side to surround the fire pit. This design is exactly what the builder constructed. As the builder was placing the last four 2×2s on the structure, the customer asked to change the design. The builder informed the customer that it was too late, the lumber was already cut and could not be done, but the customer himself could add or change of his own accord in the future, because the project was too close to completion. The customer agreed and upon completion was very satisfied with the project and paid with no issue. Within days, the customer contacted and asked for additional work to be done and requested a price quote to change the design to which the builder agreed, but at a much later date due to a full schedule. Over several days after, the customer began to ask for work to be done at an unrealistic price, then began to ask for only assistance from the builder while the customer himself did the work, then began to imply that the original job was just not complete because he was no longer pleased with the design (his own design). After much back and forth communication, the builder refused to do anymore additional work for this customer and no longer responded to numerous texts and phone calls from the customer and his wife. The customer himself then proceeded to add to the COMPLETED structure that was originally completed by the builder by adding to the structure over the firepit, then wanted the builder to return to stain and complete the addition. When the builder refused, the customer retaliated by filing a fraudulent complaint against the builder with the Revdex.com. The customer never faulted the structure or workmanship, he was simply unhappy with his own design and wanted the builder to give him the original design he wanted over the fire pit despite the potential fire hazard and liability to our company. The builder refused to do any additional work because the job he was contracted for was complete.
